    Growing up my dad’s friend had a galaxie wagon that I thought was pretty cool, to think that was someone’s brand new car at one point, great video guys 👍😁

      It is hard to believe that every car you see was brand new at one time. I’d say there is a lot of people that would like to have that Galaxie wagon now

    🎉❤Another great video 📹 on one of your videos you drilled out a Carb spacer on a holley carb, from.a old machinist if no drill press stop, I use a piece of gray Bird Tape, for my depth, 😊 Jason B, Wichita, Ks

      Thank you for your kind words. Tape works or I have some of those kind that slip over the drill bit and tighten with an Allen screw. I was just drilling it deep enough for those Allen head bolts to be slightly recessed and not cause a vacuum leak

    Pretty insane what those engines will come back from and the damage they can have and still run just fine.

    On my 1978 Ford Bronco build, u have any input on motor mounts,?? Also is the a good Thumper can I could easily but in my 460? Me n my wife pulled the 460 out of a 1978 Ford Van RV?? I did grab the motor mounts from them Van Rv. So I haven't got to it yet, lol Also my wife has her yellow n white 1979 XLT auto she ,well THE BOSS WANTS 1ST LOL ,THANKS, Jason B, Wichita, Ks

      You can use L&L mounts to drop the 460 into the bronco or Jeff’s Bronco Graveyard has some extreme duty mounts that has the rubber part that is replaceable. I believe Trans Dapt also makes a mount to drop a 460 into a bronco or F-150. As far as the Thumpr cam my advice is don’t do it. Those cams are ground purely for sound and that’s it. Broncos are heavy and you won’t be happy with how it runs and pulls. I’ve been down that road. I didn’t use a Thumpr cam but I used a Lunati cam that is similar sized to the Thumpr and ground on a 108 lobe separation. I also had flat top pistons in that 460, a 2800-3000 stall converter and 4:56 gears. I ended up removing the Lunati camshaft and I put the stock camshaft back in it. You have to remember that you have low compression which will makes yours even worse on the bottom end. The 360hp 460 rating was using the stock camshaft that remained the same until the end of the 460. Unless it was a Cobra Jet or a marine 460 they all used the same camshaft. My advice is stay with the stock camshaft or just slightly bigger and use a straight up timing set.

      @@JasonBackes You're welcome! I know it isn't what you wanted to hear but I was just being honest with you. For example the cams I have for my 460's now are based on my past experiences having to run stall converters and low gears to compensate for camshafts that were too big. For my 1978 F-150's 460 I picked the Howards cam that has 215 intake and 223 exhaust duration @.050. That is about as big as you can go and not need a stall converter and also keep in mind that I put flat top pistons in that 460 and zero decked the block so it's compression is 9.5:1 or a little more. Would I install that camshaft in a stock low compression carbureted 460? Absolutely not! The other 460 I have set back is for my 1979 F-350. It is a 1995 model fuel injected 460. I will be installing a carburetor on it but keeping the fuel injected heads. Those engines had 8.9:1 compression but I need more low end pulling power than my F-150 so for that engine I have a NOS Lunati camshaft. It was made way before they were bought out. Because of the lower compression of the fuel injected 460 and because I need more pulling power that camshaft has 205 intake and 215 exhaust duration @ .050. Hopefully that gives you some ideas on what you can use in your 460 but keep in mind your 460 will only have7.5-8:1 compression if it still has the carbureted dished pistons. The C8SZ-6250-A camshaft which came out in the 429 Thunderjet engines and was used as the stock camshaft for all 429/460 engines unless they were Cobra Jets, marine engines, or similar had 193 intake and 206 exhaust duration @ .050. So it doesn't take much camshaft to go bigger than stock. Also keep in mind that you get into retainer to valve guide clearance issues when you get around .530"-.540" of valve lift. Have to measure to be sure.

      You're best bang for the buck on a stock 460 is to port the exhaust side of the heads, install a straight up timing set, and recurve the distributor. You will gain 30-50hp depending on the rest of your set up and the cost is less than $100 in parts and some of your time. The straight up timing set alone will gain you around 20hp or a little more. Get a timing set for a fuel injected 460. They are straight up, cheap and double roller. Just have to discard the flat oil slinger on the crankshaft when you use a double roller timing set on a 460.

Or I seen on Bronco graveyard the whole rear kit for 170.00 bucks, but with shipping to ks would it be better by all parts at local parts stores?? Thanks for all u feed back

    @BlackLabGarage Hey there Bud !
    I had a friend rebuild my 1967 Fe 352 motor and he is no longer around to ask if he ch caked the Preload and quite a few other questions have come up . With less than 20 hrs on the motor ! I’m note sure what would have caused sheered of rocker arm and shaft bent pushrod a collapsed valve spring and to top it all of a destroyed lifter all above my #8 cyleder. I’m forced to get into the repairs myself and I’m not a mechanic. It’s taken me a lot to finally comprehend the information you’ve given that’s supports my re istalation of all the above I’ve mentioned. But my greatest concern is that no matter who or what research I’ve done my Gut keeps telling me to slow down , that maybe facing bigger issues .
    If you have some time ide like to turn this into a success story and I request any guidance you can offer
    I hope this finds you healthy and well

      Several things can cause that. Do you know what camshaft is in the engine?

      @@BlackLabGarage I appreciate your response All he said regarding the Cam is he installed a slightly larger cam to give me a little more pulling power. So as it took me watching your preload video I considered the possibility of him not having checked that.
      The engine has maybe 10 to 15 hours on it that I’m aware of .on my first weekend having my truck back within an hour my hokey 4 barrel started loading up. But it was strange that it be an to backfire and stalled . I was able to at least hall ass home and I freed up the float boat got it running again briefly then saw fuel puddling on top of the intake to make a long story short I the carberatorevdecided to work for a wile and now it was missing and I heard a knocking from there I screwed everything up checking plugs dimessed up the firing order things got bad and I left it to sit for a year
      I had everything so backwards I think how retarded I even thought the rotar was supposed to point at #1 cylender taking advice from Chevy folks and I was trying to time it not knowing the the pointing direction of my rotor I could be the reason for all my failures but there was a knocking and missing before I did evething backwards
      I’m sorry I’m hopping to reveal that I’m learning a great deal but what initially was failing and why caused a missing and knocking in 15 hours of breaking
      Sorry mate I’m exhausted don’t know what to inform you of
      That can help

      @BlackLabGarage  6 місяців тому

      @@udt12blondell37 It would help if we knew what camshaft he put in it. When you change camshafts the stock preload goes out the door. Changing head gaskets from the stock metal head gaskets to the composition type throws the preload off. If he didn't check for coil bind on the valve springs can cause problems. As far as the rocker shaft breaking or bending, that can happen when someone loosens or tightens one bolt at a time rather that slowly tightening each bolt a little at a time to draw the whole assembly down together.
