      I hope so too, but the reality with horses is that it's not fair to try to force a fit. They can do so well with the right job, and she needed a daily job!

    It was so sad to watch Lex watching Miss Debbie go. Like watching a mate or family member go. You are so strong because I could never raise animals to sell because they become a part of me. Hoping you find the perfect horse for your family.

    I know how hard it is to lose a pet. On a good note, losing Lil Debbie to a good home where she will be happy and well cared for has got to be comforting. The garage is really starting to look awesome. Although I am not a fan of electric vehicles, I do think your decision to install a charging option in the garage for one is an excellent decision. We indeed don't know what things will be like in the future. Keep up the great work. I look so forward to Saturday mornings to watch your next video. 🥰

    Every window you open up is a big WOW! I went to Yellowstone last year and I thought I wore out the word WOW, but I guess not. The views from every window is INCREDIBLE. As far as the horses go, don’t tell yourself that you are failing. You do perfectly picking out the right horse for that time, BUT, the kids are growing, and so is their wants and needs. It was sad to see the pony leaving, but like you said, she will like her new life.

    I was wondering how you were so good with cutting out the receptacles. Thanks for showing how you worked it out!
    I had bought a pony for my daughter and it kicked her on Easter morning as she went to feed it. After an emergency surgery for a shattered liver, my daughter recovered well and still wanted a horse.
    We went to a horse sale and looked at several with a disappointing, "not that one". As we were walking by a barn a yearling paint stuck it's neck through a window and I walked into it. Almost knocked me down. Yes, we bought that one and had him trained for dressage and western riding. He got a 3rd place at his first competition. My daughter rode him for several years. When my daughter left for college. We sold him. Yes he was like a family member. My daughter went on to win several ribbons and awards for barrel racing and several years of driving wagons pulled by a pair of percherons at the National stock show in Colorado. It all worked out, praise the Lord. She doesn't ride horses anymore.

    Sorry to see Little Debbie go. She is a very pretty pony, but she looks like she is going to a family that she will be more suited for .... meaning they have younger kids that she will be with for a long time. Sometimes you just have to make those hard decisions, and you guys are very good at it👍🏻 It will be cool to see who Little Debbie's replacement is.🐎 You two are really motoring along with the garage .... looking good! In the uk we put our dry wall vertically and not staggered and it’s never fallen off or been a questionable action in my 61 years.

    • @wkjeom
      @wkjeom 4 місяці тому +13

      Dry wall is installed here because of flooding. If a house, room, whatever floods you only have to replace the lower half, not everything.

    • @scott5654
      @scott5654 4 місяці тому +2

      So, it is installed parallel to the studs? The reason drywall is installed perpendicular to the studs is because that is the proper way to install it.

    • @arwogue
      @arwogue 3 місяці тому +1

      In Australia we sheet walls both ways, but usually perpendicular with staggered joints. Ceilings are definitely perpendicular to the joists and staggered butt joints. We also use dobs of stud adhesive glue on all sheets to reduce the number of screws/nails used to fix sheets.

    • @ruthiebabe3638
      @ruthiebabe3638 3 місяці тому

      I am not sure if dry wall (plasterboard )is staggered by everyone in the UK or not, it may just depend on who's putting it up. But I can say that in the UK we plaster (skim) over the entire wall/ceiling meaning that the joins are hidden.
      I must say that this actually seems like a waste of time, materials and money when you can just do it the American way. 😊 And staggering the sheets makes more sense too.

    Just a reminder for you on horses: EVERY SINGLE horse out there can teach us something, no matter how "easy" they are. With Little Debbie he could have learned how to have a properly balanced independent seat, how to soften a horse, put it on the bit, lateral work, properly ridden transitions, ridden bareback to increase balance, ETC. I'm always afraid that many horses will get traded over and over again because, in my experience, it's no longer popular to take the time and spend the money for lessons/trainers. Even with the "perfect horse", every time you are on their back you are either adding or taking away from their training. This is how many very well trained horses end up unlearning everything with green riders. I hope you find a good match and remember that working with horses is a lifestyle/journey, not a destination!

      Regarding Raycons earbuds & headphones, I’ve got two sets of their earbuds in my pocket & a new spare pair in my chest of drawers.
      One thing I really appreciate that Raycon has done is added a 2 yr warranty for peanuts because I’m really rough on them, ran one set through the washer recently killing them.
      They replaced them immediately.
      I’ve used Raycon almost since they came out buying a new pair yearly giving the old pair away.

    That was a tough decision regarding Lil Debbie and Lexon's companion. On the upside, life in the country has more opportunities to learn from those types of situations. Here's hoping that you will find a good match - we have plenty of horses in Texas that you may look into if you don't find one in Idaho! I still remember when my parents had to give away our cat named Tom after Tom had kittens. Loved that cat, but we lived in a place at the time where it was not possible to house growing kittens. The pain was intense at the time. Looking back years later however, it prepared me for how real life choices can be made that create options instead of life choices that constrain one's future choices. Nice work on the drywall - sure is looking good!

    Have y’all considered a captain’s bed upstairs? It has lots of storage underneath and you won’t need a dresser. Just an idea.

    I'm on the Big Island where my Mom was born and raised except om in Ocean View on the west side and she was born 120 miles away in Hilo. My Kid's were both born in Hilo and still live here one 39 years old and the other 35, Renee Lei O-Ka Malia and Richard Ikaika Wulzen. Love it here . I was born in 1939 in Alameda California , I have been here in Hawaii for 56 years. Lived on Oahu for in Makaha for 6 years and on the Big Island for 50 years. Oahu was way too busy and crowded, too much traffic and way too many people. Oahu 669 square miles and 600,000 people including all the military, big Island 4000 square miles and 190,000 people.

    The way you putting the drywall is the best way in my opinion.... most Eu countrys do it that way. if u do it horizontaly u have a much longer seem to make blend then vertical drywall. keep up the good work. ''Wave and hugs from a old carpenter from Norway:)

    The lessons are in the ‘mistakes’, when things do not work out perfectly. Your children are learning incredibly valuable lessons in not forcing things, and that it is okay to redo things until they work. Those are valuable life skills.

    Isn't drywall and insulating the worst part of any build!? Nice to see you get a big chuck of it done and behind you now. I hope you guys read my comment on your podcast this past week. It is great to see you back to work on your dream home, and seeing Eli happy back in his cowboy clothes was great too. Have a great week guys. As always, sending love from our acreage to yours. PS we had to suffer the -30s up here and no Hawaii for us this year lol.

    I did that with my first horse, sold a gentle quiet horse, because I wanted something faster. BIG mistake. I never ever got a good horse like him, again. If I could go back in time, I would have kept that gelding, until the day he died. Really hope you won't be sorry.
