I do like the story explanation. But I do wish to explain that the Sonic games and every other adaptation that's not the games, are not canon to each other. All of the games do in fact take place on Mobius not earth. Each game represents an island on the world of Mobius. The first Sonic game takes place on South Island. After the events of that game Sonic finds a plane which he uses to fly to the next Island, which is actually Sonic CDs events. (Yes Sonic CD comes before Sonic 2) After little planet has been saved along with Amy, Sonic eventually runs into tails in which he actually can properly pilot the plane. Which leads into 2,3 and knuckles. Central city and the mystic ruins is in fact a continent on Mobius. This is why none of the humans thinks it's weird for the animal races to exist. Basically every game takes place on a different part of Mobius.
I need to correct myself. I am actually wrong the world's name isn't moebius, Sonic team itself is in fact calling it Earth... All the games do in fact take place on Earth... I just don't know why Sonic team thinks that calling a planet that clearly isn't ours earth makes sense, but it's their story I guess.
I feel this is a pretty good video and is on point, but I feel it's not a bad idea to branch out into different concepts that feel original to Sonic's world we never seen before like recently with Sonic Frontiers. After all, what your basically doing is writing a whole reboot that serves a different continuity for a whole another universe. Yes a lot of the things in this video seems to be the same and was already a story told but given a better execution whatever media what you suppose to be presented in. But you can only do so many times, like not overdone with like TMNT franchise with excessive rebooting. Paramount did already kinda gave us the best Sonic adaption despite the flaws with lacking anything from the first movie and maybe having hard pacing and representing of key features from the original source material. But I think they should try something different for his origin story. My idea which can be a "creative challenge" could take all the bad poorly presented Sonic games (Secret Rings, Kunckles Chaotix, Forces, Blacknight, Dreaded 06) and try and make them actually amazing when redone as the starting story for a this reboot of sonic. Sorry if what I said me be hard to catch on but I hope you understand what I mean.
