@ and like every purchase you have to make, you have to decide what will be the best use of your $1,600. A new radio for your car, a computer, a TV or anything else. If you are the person that doesn’t care to add all the features to your car stereo then take that cash and spend it where you want. If you lift a car you spend more money on tires. If you don’t care to do things with a lifted car then buying expensive tires doesn’t make sense. We get that. But you can’t want quality and upgrades, and not pay what those quality upgrades cost. If you compare apples to apples. Installing a quality aftermarket radio into a 15-up Mustang. $1,600 is pretty much what it will cost you. If that isn’t worth the upgrade for you all good.
don’t get me wrong. I want this for my Mustang. I am currently having issues with my touch screen & I need to replace it or get it fixed. This would make a great replacement but money’s tight right now. I appreciate your input. Thanks
You can try reaching out to one of our Authorized Online Dealers like www.adcmobile.com or www.FNAAutomotive.com Gen 5 isn’t allowed on Amazon or EBay. Both those selling platforms creat a huge issue with customer service for us. So we won’t allow them to hit those platforms.
So the issue is the requirements of Apple and Android Phones to do the hand shake. They have a very specific voltage and resistance requirement for the handshake to happen. Most factory radios use their hub as the way they regulate that. Every aftermarket company builds it into their radio. So when the phone goes through the factory hubs regulation parts, and then the radios, the voltage and resistance is now off and beyond the tolerance of the phone and so it doesn’t think that it’s a handshake device. Trying to build a system that integrates the factory hub’s parts instead of using our own: 1. Would make things much more expensive to manufacture because every make is different. So we would have to specifically design the USB portion of each radio individually, without real quailing control. 2. Would leave us unable to address an issue should the handshake not work right. Using the factory parts leaves us less in control of quality. If it doesn’t work and the reason is the factory hub we wouldn’t be able to help figure that out because we would have no way of replacing that component or testing it. 3. Not all vehicles came factory with CarPlay, so those ones the hub would be different leaving the vehicles that are pre CarPlay unable to do it at all. We do a lot of work to retain as much of the factory parts and features as possible. But we are still an aftermarket radio. We do not have access to Ford’s, or Dodge, or Toyota, or any other manufacturers parts, firmwares, programmings, CanBus, etc. so we will never be able to do this exactly like them. If things like factory USB hubs being able to do CarPlay / Android Auto is most important, then keeping the factory radio is probably your best choice. When installing Aftermarket parts it is always a choice of “is what I gain worth what I lose?” With this, we can’t retain them so is it worth the added features to lose that…... I have videos on here showing me replacing the internal parts of the factory hubs to mount our USB into it. Giving it that factory look but working with our USB. Again one of those things that comes with the territory of aftermarket radios.
Hey I have this radio for my mustang and I love it , BUT I have been having this weird issue with the A/C / Heat not working , it will say 20 degrees Celsius where it usually shows temp and doesn’t let me turn the heat on or off , like it’s stuck on some weird loop everything else on the radio works. I installed one on my f150 2017 I'm so disappointed of it It never connects to Android auto AC controls don't work like they supposed to It just blows air to the windshield I installed like the manual shows and I tried as much as I can but didn't work
Honestly, the Tesla style ones for the 15-22 all look really tack, finnicky, overpriced, and just overall poorly integrated into the dashboard in general (and the software and aesthetic probably won't age well). The more traditional 9-13 inch horizontal screens that come with custom cut front panels look way better, especially since they maintain the great stock temperature controls and bottom row of switches. I wish Ford had made the DIN more modular like with older vehicles given how utterly shit of a screen they used in an otherwise nearly perfect interior (with Sync 2 on the 15-17 making it even more unbearable). I would love to easily drop something like a Sony or Pioneer stereo in there instead of being limited to a bunch of Chinese android-based tablets.
To each their own. Looks don’t equal action. If you haven’t actually used one of ours hard to make a true judgement of its interface and functions. But once again to each their own. Our radios will do far more than a standard radio. So it is much more than simply looks as well. But, as You get what floats your boat. Best of luck to you.
So when making videos should go through what the wires are that dint get hooked back up if any should go through and make sure all buttons work like hazard mode and so on...
I put one in my 2917 mustang gt a few issues with it...climate controls don't work right volume buttons are working opposite so when I hit the volume up the volume goes down...and when I open my driver door it shows the passenger door is open...and when I go into settings and hit stock Amp the volume lowers down alot...so like on my heat when I push for the feet heat it comes from the defrost part I don't get feet heat at all...and when I go to the the top it comes from defrost and top and when I hit defrost it comes from the top....not impressed should try and get money back...oh and when I push the talk button on my steering wheel nothing happens...
You need to go into the settings and set the radio - Watch our video on setting the HVAC up - in Settings/System/Settings Guide flip RHD to fix the opposite door showing. Flip the volume control for the steering wheel to flip the way it responds. The radio doesn’t have a voice command program. So you will not be able to do voice commands.

@ thank you for the quick response. For that much money I could get a Mac book pro or a 80” smart tv but I can’t put that in my Mustang dash 🤦♂️
Thanks
@ totally understand that….. truly. Do wish you the best of luck working out the best option for you. Technology on cars now a days is just expensive.
I'm dying to get my hands on a Gen 5. I have found Gen 4s everywhere. Where can I buy a Gen 5 and pay with Paypal?
You can try reaching out to one of our Authorized Online Dealers like www.adcmobile.com or www.FNAAutomotive.com
Gen 5 isn’t allowed on Amazon or EBay. Both those selling platforms creat a huge issue with customer service for us. So we won’t allow them to hit those platforms.
You should be able to use the oem USBs for carplay or Android auto.
Trying to build a system that integrates the factory hub’s parts instead of using our own:
When installing Aftermarket parts it is always a choice of “is what I gain worth what I lose?”
With this, we can’t retain them so is it worth the added features to lose that…...
But the heat doesn’t let me press any controls . Let me know if you have ever heard of this with anyone else and if there is a fix , thank you!
Verify the HVAC is programmed correctly. You can follow this video on the steps and the link to the PDF with the info.

I installed one on my f150 2017 I'm so disappointed of it
It never connects to Android auto
AC controls don't work like they supposed to
It just blows air to the windshield I installed like the manual shows and I tried as much as I can but didn't work
Did you program the HVAC?
What is the protocol it’s set to?
What version of ZLYNK is on the radio?

You need to go into the settings and set the radio
- Watch our video on setting the HVAC up
- in Settings/System/Settings Guide flip RHD to fix the opposite door showing. Flip the volume control for the steering wheel to flip the way it responds.
The radio doesn’t have a voice command program. So you will not be able to do voice commands.
Well to change the climate is not right my mustang is a dual climate and set it to HI and it was all wrong then we set it back to low it works almost right but the thing that dont work right is the floor and middle at the same time....and the hazards don't work why would that be...
@@goldenglove25 it needs to be set to hi. Set it to hi and verify the protocol according to the PDF from our video on setting the HVAC
We did set it to hi and it was all messed up so we had to Chang it to low...it worked better on low and it was on the protocol buy on the car info it was either new or 2010
