@@BambiDextrousthey are different though that’s why they are two separate effects, fuzz is a compressed version of distortion that clips the signal more virtually turns your guitar signal into a square wave, and distortion is just overdrive that has been clipped harder to over simplify it

Any humbucker can squeal like that, a high gain amp or good distortion pedal is all you need. Pickups are a ripoff for the most part unless you are comparing active to passive or single coil to humbucker the diffences are negligible and the same differences can be achived via eq.
Everyone can do this. Take an LM386 op amp and turn it into something like a Grace Distortion or Big Daddy Distortion inside a guitar. The LM386 has endless project potential.
