Insider info: it took about 6 hours to get the cannons to operate correctly and the How Ridiculous crew was the most patient and kind group of guys I’ve ever worked with. They pitched in to fix, adapt and make the cannons work under non-ideal conditions!
Thanks guys!
Great teamwork!
Definitely a big old “just let’s figure out how to make it work” sort of day. Appreciate all yours and Shaun’s efforts to give this a shot. Unbelievable how much you both pulled together with the air cannons and both jeep cannons in such a short period!
@@howridiculous👍
Anything for the video!! It’s like do it for the vine 😅
I just love that mid shoot the discovery of basketball wadding was an improvement and that it persisted throughout
Thousands of years from now someone is going to walk through that field and step on one of those Legos and be mighty upset.
I'm worried about any cows or Horses gettin one in a hoof
Lego landmines are what keeps Denmark safe.
Pow'rful peeved
🤣👍
The face: 🤬
The two remote controls were probably jamming each other because they were on the same frequency.
Likely.
plus the cannons were too close so the blowback would counteract the other if timing is off massively
Didn't expect to see you here
Big Clive in the house!
In the intricate milieu of remote-controlled air cannons, an unforeseen clash of electromagnetic frequencies transpired. Remote A, orchestrating a meticulously calibrated confetti cascade, found itself entangled in a discordant ballet with Remote B, which executed a precision protocol for an expansive streamer deployment.
This unexpected confluence unfolded in a living space repurposed as an impromptu laboratory, where the meticulously synchronized frequencies of both remote controllers unexpectedly intersected. It metamorphosed into a symphony of infrared signals, each vying for dominion within the confined airspace of inflatable magnificence.
Against the backdrop of electromagnetic interference, one could envisage a theoretical arbiter attempting to adjudicate the standoff. The collision of communication protocols and synchronized pneumatic discharges posed a unique technical quandary, rendering the domestic environment an unwitting crucible for remote control connoisseurs.
Upon contemplation of this unforeseen nexus of air cannon technology and remote control stratagem, the realization dawned that these ostensibly recreational devices, designed for revelry, had become embroiled in a technical imbroglio of their own. The domestic space unwittingly transmogrified into a crucible of experimentation, where outcomes were contingent upon the precision of encoded signals.
In the aftermath, the domestic abode stood as a testament to a convergence not merely of remote controllers but of the intricacies inherent in infrared communication. It served as a reminder that even in the realm of inflatable diversion, the nuanced aspects of signal interference can ascend to prominence.
Thus, a salutation to the inadvertent technical spectacle: an encounter of frequencies that transmuted a domestic milieu into an arena of remote-controlled precision and inflatable marvels. May the electromagnetic ether find concord, and the synchronized discharges regain equilibrium.
My favorite part of this was definitely the problem solving part. It was so much fun seeing you try different things to get the perfect shot.
i was going to comment this!
after that my favorite part was the 3.2.1. hand signals LOL
That is my favorite part too!!
Yes as an engineer I thought it was pretty representative of what some days can be like 😅 but testing in the field is always a blast!
It's a great cause! Thank you HR!
My aunt and my grandma both survived breast cancer; treatment's come a long way.
And folks, please remember that both women and men can get breast cancer. The potential area does extend up to the armpits. So go get yourself that regular check according to your doctor and if you find a lump that feels like a dry kernel of corn, go back to the doctor!
Thanks, actually useful info ;) You've certainly informed me, I hadn't even thought of the possibility with a male
Herron's digital countdowns were hysterical. Also, even when you didn't get a clean collision the slowies were epic. And again, Scott was right there working on the technical problems.
My favorite part of the vid by far was Derek’s hand shooting up from behind the hay every time XD
13:35 I could feel the excitement from here, that WAS the money shot! Something about watching two watermelons collide in slow motion is just awesome.
Using the basketballs as wadding was genius.
You guys are good guys. My dad passed away this past December coming up on a year now. So nice to see you guys doing cancer awareness stuff ❤
So sorry for your loss Brad.
I’m so sorry for your loss. This November was the first anniversary of my Mom’s passing. It just doesn’t seem to get any easier.
Lost my Mom to cancer Dec 2008. The one thing I could do for my Mom after she passed was enjoy the beautiful life she gave me. I hope you do the same for your Father Brad and for your Mother @amandagreen4332
My heart goes out to you both. ❤
44 club let's go
Woooo!
Oh yeah!
Exactly
Yassss brooooo

Kind of symbolic that you were launching two "melons" that exploded into a watery, pink mist before you even did the powder. 🎀 Congrats to Farrah!!
Nice to see bricks & minifigs getting a shout out in HR!
I need to thank you guys sooo much! I've been very depressed for a while now because of financial trouble ( like most people) and some other personal issues. I rarely smile or laugh but when I watch your channel I laugh and smile. I actually feel happy when watching which feels so nice after feeling so down.
So THANK YOU! Thank you so much!😁
Go pink.....congratulations Farrah
Guys, loved the effort. Also all the clicks and whirls of the gray matter as you tried to work it out. Thanks for taking the chill for us......
Shoutout to the property owner in Montana who let you do all this crazy stuff 🙌
Now you know why Myth Busters used those ms delay switches. Getting two things moving that fast to fire at the same time requires millisecond trimming triggers.
HR wing it a lot. Little research
I reckon if you compared HR budgets to Mythbusters it makes what we pull off even more amazing haha
@@brettstanford it does! Its ok to wing it. Thats why its ridiculous and mad fun :)
Can’t wait to finish this video boys! Also must say one of your guys best series was with the slow mo dudes absolutely loved it 💯💯
Yep totally agree ! The How Ridiculous/Slow Mo Guys was such a great collab ! Need more of these
@@Nico_Dica yes for sure that would be so awesome I love both!!
I love the confused look on all three's faces as Jack explains 😂. Love the 44 club!
Whenever you guys are doing a Smooth Bore Canon situation you need to use a rag or some kind of wadding as a sabot. It's the only way to get any kind of consistent results when you're using inconsistent ammo.
Using the basketballs helped
It's a shame things had to end with Gav and Dan. That was a squad like no other. But something like that was too good to last forever 😂
Wait what?!?! They broke up?
The slow mo guys also
have careers outside of UA-cam so a years worth of filming in a short span. That paired with the how ridiculous crew being based in Australia makes for scheduling conflicts.
Thank you so much for the Pink Powder. I am a 3 year breast cancer survivor, that really hits close to home. Good -Luck on your Cancer Free journey Farrah!! May God Bless everyone!! Much Love to all!!
One for each year. ❤❤❤ I hope someday I'm lining up another 20 for ya!
@@Montana_horseman Thank you so very much.
@@elizabethpack2337 You bet ya, I hope you have a beautiful life!
@@Montana_horseman you as well!! 😁❤️
I’m a breast cancer warrior and hit 1 year cancer free in October! Thank you for supporting your family!
44 Club Forever!
Use a PLC to trigger both at the same time from one button, also you can add pressure monitoring and control the fill valves.
You can even tie the PLC into the Phantom to TRIG
Also add a variable delay to calibrate out any systemic timing differences between the two cannons
Shout out to all the cancer survivors and everyone affected by loss from cancer. You are all loved very much.
Even when things don't go as planned, HR's viddies are still entertaining. 200 MPH watermelons aren't really why fans are watching. We're watching because of Brett, Derek and Scott, plus the awesome Wallaces! ❤
I would love so much to have more collisions and less screaming
2 straightedges [1:TDC (top dead center) & 1: 90° Away from camera] hose clamped to each tube (level & w/2' overlap on each tube) will ensure centered shots each time.
I.E. 10' separation from mouth = 14' straightedges (angle iron recommended).
{2' is overkill, but allows straps to be 18" apart for better alignment}.
Timing will be easier if all other variables are locked down.
Great video guys and congratulations to her for 2 yrs cancer free( I didn’t quite catch her name). Awesome on her though hope she stays well
Having specialised in large air cannon for over 20 years, I feel your pain timing wise! I moved away from butterfly valves (although you can make them work with fast stepper motors) I eventually settled on a large pressure differential valve of my own design which allowed for near perfect timing.
At around 9:36 that fast spinning yellow lego slightly right and top centre just jarred me out for some reason. You have all this activity going on, and that lego is like "weeeeeeee".
The pure joy on the final shot! Loved it guys, great video once again!!
Epic shots! Heron's hand shooting up from behind the hay for the countdown had me laughing
What I love about this series of vid’s is the idea of boys will do boy stuff no matter what country they’re from. The smiles and joy from the watermelons smashing is so awesome!!
I actually really missed seeing all the hard work/behind the scenes where things don't quite work, it makes it so so satisfying when it pulls together and we get to see how much effort goes into these shots!
We agree! The juice is worth the squeeze 😁
Love you guys!
Proud 44 club member here. You saved some of the best footage for the outro! How good!!!!
You guys are epic. Glad that you had so much fun in Montana.
Also noticed that the video is 15 mins and 44 sec. I presume that was intentional as a shout out to the 44 club. Well played.
When it comes to UA-cam entertainment, you guys are outstanding in the field.
How ridiculously correct!
They're certainly out standing in someone's field for sure.
Ummm...yeah....
lol xd
They are good, but what the heck with all the high pitched screams?? Are they all vir-gins or something?
Not gonna lie the problem solving and close calls made for a very engaging video and that money shot much more worth it! Fun to see you guys out here on the top side of the earth 🤠
"This is either going to be really epic or very disappointing." - What I tell my wife.
WHAT A GREAT TRIBUTE TO HER. My wife and I are both cancer survivors. She had breast cancer and me anal cancer. So special to watch her smile...WELL DONE, DUDES.
I really enjoy these trial-and-error videos and getting to see new toys dialed in. The blender was especially good, I can't wait to see where this ends up.
Love from Tennessee
Two of my aunts have/has breast cancer. One fought it and is clear. My other aunt was just diagnosed with it. So I appreciate it boys. God bless you guys for that.
I can’t wait for the coming soon vídeos… Love your videos, I’m a big fan.
I am loving these newer type of videos from the HR team but is anybody else missing a good ol' tower drop video?
Still bending the Jeep back into shape I see
I suggest that from now on, for every watermelon or other fruit you demolish making epic videos that How Ridiculous donates 10 or 100 times the amount to a food bank. Thanks for making these amazing videos to entertain us all! Editor Jack is a genius!
500 years from now: how the heck did all these legos get out here?!?
after rigorous scientific examination we have determined that these plastic pieces were military projectiles, they bear the marks of being fired at high velocities. At first we thought they were toys, but then the lab assistant stepped on one and we realized how deadly they could be.
Love you guys. The amount of effort y’all put into your videos is insane. These guys have been in Montana doing this for like 3 weeks too. Also, props to the editors!
If I'd known you were in Montana, I'd have tried to get there and get a pic with. . . Rexy!!!
I know right! Though that looks like the east side....
You gotta be very naive to not realize they just film all the stuff in maybe 1 week and then release the videos one after another.
Just like with the Swiss Dam, they're there for 1 week max und get the filming done.
Jeez I'm glad they got out in October this time of year with straight line winds in Montana are Brutal
I love videos like this. We see how hard you boys work for the content. Much appreciated
Another great viddie, Boys!!
Congratulations to Farrah on 2 years!!! HOW GOOD!!!!!!
Hell yeah ridiculous!!!🎉🎉❤❤
Videos are better every time!👍🏼👍🏼
I did not expect to see so many vids from Montana! If ya would have waited a month or so you could've done everything in -50 °Fahrenheit/-45.56 °Celsius. 🥶😄 I hope each of you had a great time here!
The dedication of these folks for doing the innocently ridiculous is aweinspiring!
Love the merchandise
The first shot with the watermelons at 10:25, the reason both mellons survived initially is because there was an air cushion trapped between the two mellons and the barrel that gently bounced the incoming mellon.
i'm pretty sure there's a ride somewhere that is a drop tower without the brakes, and they use this exact same principle (the very tight air seal as a cushion) instead of the brakes and it works every time
I cannot overstate my excitement at the distinct possibility of a double coney joney
Great video guys can’t wait for the next everything you put your energy into comes out amazing
Can’t wait to watch this with my dad! We love watching your viddys together!❤
Why am I always happy when I see a new video of How Ridiculous
How Ridiculous.
Their vídeos have The Joy of The Lord in them. There's nothing like it.
Much love and strength for Shawn's wife, Sarah, for being cancer free! My mom will never be cancer-free, but she's a fighter of stage-4 breast cancer since 2009, and two other cancers she's been fighting as well. She's 67 and still active and fighting.
When you lads put your melons together it's a pretty cool viddy!!
Herron we missed ya in these videos.
And I gotta say I LOVE that countdown
I didn’t know until this moment that I had to know what it would look like if your shot watermelons at each other
Gotta love the watermelons 🍉
Great idea guys ,how about make several glow in the dark Lego bowling balls ,that slowie was amazing imagine I’d the pices were all glow in the dark ,love you guys ,☮️
having lost my father to cancer, i am utterly thrilled when i hear someone’s success story! so very happy for her! God be with you all!

00:26 🎯 Setting up precise firing of items requires intricate machinery and careful adjustments.
01:19 🕹 Achieving precise timing in dual cannon firing involves learning and tweaking mechanisms for synchronous action.
02:38 🎀 Using pink in the experiment is a tribute to a friend's victorious battle against breast cancer, highlighting awareness and celebration.
03:30 🏎 Technical adjustments are made to synchronize the firing sequence with extreme precision.
06:25 🕒 Achieving a 15 millisecond delay in firing the cannons is proving challenging but crucial for the desired collision.
08:11 🧱 Using Lego bowling balls in the experiment poses anticipation for their outcome.
10:24 🍉 Attempting collisions with watermelons showcases the difficulty in achieving the desired synchronized impact.
11:30 🏀 Using basketballs to potentially aid in aligning the melons for collision highlights experimental creativity.
14:51 🎀 Incorporating pink powder celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month and a friend's two-year cancer-free milestone.
You need to cover a Lego Ball with Linex and see if it can survive any test you throw at it. That would be ridiculous.
I have worked 12 days straight. Coming home to a How Ridiculous video is a treat!! Those are Imperial days rather than Metric days.
This was without a doubt one of the most exciting videos I've seen on UA-cam in ages!
Some of my favorite content on UA-cam.
Summary: Things hitting other things.
Ooo! the coming soon clips at the end were really enticing. I come back to this channel every upload but that makes me excited for future videos!

Just in case there's a need for a number in a comment.

Love yas!!!!!
If I have learned anything from MythBusters, its that these guys needed an electronic timer and computerized delays in order to get the simultaneous fire that they wanted.
Oy

Have you ever had race cars growing up. You would buy the same exact race car, but one of the remote controls would work for the other.😅
Seeing that the blue Cannon is your priority, you can try to run another main cord from the.
13:35
Thats the sound of pure, unadulterated joy.
All 3: "How did it not break?"
Jack: It's cold.
All 3: "Aaahhhh oooohhh."
😆
I think on behalf of everyone. We would love to see more Scott Gaunson cricket strokes. Magnificent
44 club for life. The Lego one was surprising didn't expect it to vaporize the spheres
Wouldn't pulling the cannons further apart have allowed more time for both to come out?
It would be harder to get them to hit each other. I have a feeling they don’t fly very straight.
@@deltab9768 Yeah that's what I figured but I wouldn't have thought just a few more feet would have changed all that much with the amount of pressure they were dealing with. Though I assume the guys that built them would know what's best. I just kept wanting to see a good connection and it seemed like just a little more distance might have done it on some of the shots lol.
TUMBLEWEED!!!!! 7:26
Just a beautiful countdown by Herron. He had the arm movements down to a science! 😂
One of the best UA-camrs on the platform!!
Seeing you Aussie boys in Montana, somewhat complaining about the cold weather and it "snowing" is crackin me up!!! 😂😂😂 love your channel, been subbed for years, SO STOKED to see you in Montana for a few uplaods!

@@Best_Quality_Copper felon....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oooooooft boys!
Nice work! If you need them both to go at the same time, just connect them both to the same system and use one remote? Haven’t finished watching it yet.😅. Soooo so hopefully y’all get it figured out. Can’t wait to see.
Remember that one episode of That 70s Show where Kelso was like "Let's throw stuff at other stuff"? This is for you Kelso. We're finally doing it.
You guys are awesome, thank you for the content... just have to throw this in of course - you guys shot this video in Montana, I live in Colorado (a few hundred miles south) and I was cracking up at how layered up you guys were. I would be wearing a pair of jeans and a t-shirt this time of year. Just giving you guys a hard time, thanks for the video
I was thinking the same! haha, I'm just north of where they were about 3-4 hours. on the Canadian side.
The way the blue legos were pushing the yellow ones back was awesome 9:37
These videos ideas is only getting better
Every new upload, i binge watch all the previous videos of the year, its gets harder and harder through december, but totally worth it.
Gaunson and Stanford doing Cricket swings taught me more about cricket in this one video than I'd learned in the entire rest of my 29 years on this god's green earth.
Got my paint splatter hoodie today!!! It's my favorite item I've gotten from you so far! Major orange splatter with 1 cute speck of green 😊 You guys are the best ❤
Absolute *mad lads*
Already know this is gonna be an epic video!
