I’ve had 2 brand new Chevy Camaros lemon law’d and repurchased by GM. I went thru the BBB for the 1st one, tried to go thru Chevy for the 2nd but they denied so I went thru the BBB again. My sister had a brand new Mercedes A220 repurchased from Mercedes. It happens with every high volume manufacturer. Cars are just SUPER complicated with 1000s of different parts, wires, chips etc from dozens of different manufacturers and if it’s a completely new model it’s everyone’s first time making most of these parts - so unfortunately it takes time to find issues and optimize. At this point I go into buying a new car knowing if it hasn’t been out already for about 2 years or more that I’ll probably be at the dealer for an issue or 2. Which I don’t mind cuz I usually love the car which is why I bought it and they give you a loaner/rental and it cost nothing but dropping off/picking up from the dealer
Wow bro I'm glad you got your full amount back, that's crazy! They took a big loss on that one... I wonder how many people could be eligible based on the lack of production consistency. Can't believe they tried to pull some bs like "third party USB"
This is the price you pay for being an early adopter. I've got a 22 M3 and 24 MY. Zero issues. It shouldn't be a shocker they have flaws in manufacturing some new to them. The more reps they get in the smother the process.
But it took many years before the previous models got good, and not till the Highland that the Model 3 got much better. It might be 5 years before the CT flaws get resolved and you'll still have poor visibility and range. I'm waiting for the 2027 Scout.
Ur lucky. I’ve had so many cars that should have been bought back but instead the manufacturers blamed the issue on me. Example is a Miata that started having issues at 400 miles and they said no worries it’s a break in period and the engine noise will go away with use. At 7k miles the noise was unbearable. When I took it in, they blamed it on the type of oil and oil filter. I used at 3500 miles insisted that the problem was not with the manufacturing when I showed them the receipt that I had done the oil change at that exact dealer at 3500 miles. They tried to come up with a different idea of how not to repair the engine or the car back. Mind you I’ve been there multiple times with the same issue and the car only had 7000 miles at this time. It wasn’t until I threaten action that they decided to rebuild the engine. And even then they did not guarantee that they would not be a bill to me until the car was done and they knew that I was serious about taking legal actions. This is one of many experiences I’ve had over the last 50 cars that I’ve owned, so Tesla and get a pretty good deal
Tesla re-purchased my first model X and 2017, the first model Y in 2020, and now Rep purchasing a model X that I got last year. However, I also have three other Teslas that are perfect with no issues. It’s insane how you could have the same car and one be broken every other day and then the other one has 60,000 miles on it with no problems whatsoever.
TLDR - Did a buyback on a 2022 Model X Plaid and despite test driving other cars we went back to a 2024 Model X LR which is great! We did a Lemon buyback on my wife's 2022 Model X Plaid as well. We had about 10,000 miles on it. We kept having to go back and forth to Tesla similar to how you did. Issues I had included multiple times where the falcon wing door just refused to close all the way including when I had to make a 50+ mile trip to pick up my sister-in-law and her 6 year old kid from the airport. Really aggravated us. We also had a drive unit failure requiring a tow at like 1 AM. Ultimately Tesla did not push back too much on the buyback for us either and repurchased it back with a mileage offset. We are super lucky because we bought the MXP at the height of the price and didn't lose as much money as many others who bought that model year version. My wife test drove a few cars while deciding which car to get next - BMW iX, Mercedes EQS SUV. Afterwards she came back to me and said I want another Model X!! I said even after all those issues you want to go back to it?! And she said YES! So we got a 2024 Model X LR this year and it has been really great actually. A couple years later they have fixed a lot of the issues and have resolved some of the previous complaints (our yoke has a center horn on it now and we have the camera button now) and the NVH is better. So my vote would be to get another Cybertruck. They fix things as they go - early adopters get screwed to get the most expensive version with the most quality issues.
Don't fall for $7500 discount lease incentive. There is a $20K fee the underwriter ADDS to the buyout cost, putting the total cost to about $105K. Chase is literally stealing a good portion of the residual value as predatory and unwarranted additional fee.
• 19h I just turned in a 2023 Model X Had 13k miles on it. Tesla wouldn't approve a Lemon buyback so I had to get an attorney. Many FWD problems. Mostly sensors. Front seat motor broke. A/C and all lines replaced also a piece of glass near the falcon wing door shattered out of the blue and usb ports work randomly. I truly love the car. I came from a 2018 RWD model three and ride quality is way better and much quieter. Love the air ride and the self presenting doors. I'm rolling the dice again and getting a Luna silver Model X with white seats. Delivery due November 25 through December 5. Wish me luck
@btw, I’m still selling the wife on the CT buy idea, if your married, capture and share if she likes the CT, driving, etc. We’ve gotten Kim Java and Wife of Dirty Tesla like the CT, but need more feedback I can show my wife.
Kobra did this the RIGHT way! Documenting your experiences with a product is EVERYTHING. The inconvenience of this 6 figure product can severely influence consumers. Tesla knows this. Really elated to know Tesla did the right thing as well. I still believe Tesla is far ahead of other EV’s. Their infrastructure is second to none. The security and safety of their product is exceptional. Technology is definitely above average for vehicles. I say, get another Tesla due to its security and safety for you and your family. Good luck!!
Glad it worked out, this is why i never get first year run on brand new modeled cars from any company, been bitten before, Cybertruck let it run a few year cycles for bugs and manufacturing defects to smooth out.
The only two electric trucks I would consider is the Rivian R1T and Tesla Cybertruck. You have experienced Tesla ecosystem and it’s hard when the bar is set high. No car is perfect but having both Tesla and Rivian, others are still playing catch up. Glad things worked out. Can’t wait to see what you replace it with.
Currently going through an MXP buyback. Approved the buyback quote on 12/3 and now just waiting for them to finalize paperwork and surrender the vehicle.
@@KobraToldYa That's what I got ... Model S with FSD from Tesla's used inventory. Included the remainder of the bumper-to-bumper warrantee, plus an extra year. Their used prices are very competitive, and if you buy a recent build, the warrantee can actually be longer than with a new one. 🙂
Now you can buy a NonFD series and save a ton of money like i am doing. and you be happy. I know you going to miss the CT there nothing better out there . ive had them all. rivia, ford,Hummer
@@KobraToldYa you are going to be missing that CT. I even bought the new SIERRA EV DENALI EDITION 1 and well its nice. my wife just drove it to Florida from NC normally 9-10 drive took here over 16hr because Electrify america sucks that bad (Tech-FuryEV Toldya) officially in the dog house
@KobraToldYa if it had a nacs charging port and Tesla v4 chargers were more available I might like it better. It is a lot of plush inside but the charging sucks plain and simple. And u need to get a 80 amp circuit put in your house if u want it to charge over that 210kw battery takes a minute to charge and we'll it cost more also to charge .

Sold all of my Teslas couple of days after the election. I live in NC can't support any company down with Trump. I bought Chevy Silverado EV and I love it so far. Way more range and not as popular. Used to be annoying seeing so many people with my model y and cybertruck.
