Appleshine Continuum is close to my favourite Underworld piece, all-time - but I am a bit biased. My favourite two musical artists coming together, and done so incredibly harmoniously? YES, PLEASE.
Appleshine Continuum is easily my favourite. I just love the experimentation of it, and the fact it's 47 minutes in length is a testament to Underworld & The Necks. Threat of Rain is my next favourite, I can't get it out of my head. I've managed to get a good friend of mine into Underworld from that track alone. Next, Imagine a Box is a really nice piece that immediately captivated me, and I knew I was going to like it when I started hearing it. There are so many standout tracks, but those are my top 3 in order.
Border country and listen to their no truly hit hard live, wasn't too into listen to their no until they opened with it at latitude this summer. Been one of my fav tracks of theirs ever since, it'll rock our world at Wembley I assure you! Holding out for a live rendition of STAR and praying for a surprise return of beautiful burnout... 🤞
10. Listen to Their No 9. Altitude Dub 8. Appleshine 7. Dune 6. A Very Silent Way 5. Dexter's Chalk 4. Pinetum 3. Border Country 2. Threat of Rain 1. Appleshine Continuum
In no particular order, my 10 favourite tracks are: Schiphol Test Imagine A Box Toluca Stars (Film Edit) Border Country Give Me The Room Appleshine (Film Edit) Pinetum This Must Be Drum Street Tree And Two Chairs (Film Edit) Dune
1 Brussels 2 Border Country 3 Tree and Two Chairs (Film Edit) 4 Dune 5 Listen To Their No 6 Toluca Stars (Film Edit) 7 Threat of Rain 8 Doris 9 Dexters Chalk 10 Appleshine (Film Edit) Honorable mentions: Appleshine Continuum, Poet Cat (Film Edit), Shiphol Test, S T A R, Custard Speedtalk
Border Country is Number 1 for me.Especially with that Pearl’s Girl Live esque ending vibe. If you weren’t aware, S.T.A.R uses the breakbeats off Lenny Penne (Riverrun Project)
Don't forget Play the Road either, which can be heard in both STAR (percussion + pads) and Dune (pads). There's a whole family tree going on here, since STAR can be tracked backed to both Lenny Penne as well as Swing up High, the latter of which served as the basis for Play the Road
Nice list, and everyone will have their own favorites. I still prefer the Riverrun Project version of S T A R AKA Lenny Penne on Lovely Broken Thing better, back when it had different vocals and was stripped down more. To each his or her own!
Drift is absolutely amazing series, one of the best periods in UNderworld history for sure. Thanks for the vid!

Yoooooo I’m excited
Personally I'm not really into Dune and Toluca Stars but this is a really good list and S T A R is my favourite!
