My guess would be Champagne Salon, but I really enjoy Billecart-Salmon BdB. Philipponnat used to be in my top 5 but I think has been pushed out by Jeeper, Krug, and Roederer. I know it's not Champagne, but Domaine Carneros, Bride Valley, and Schramsberg are nice bubbles as well. The Roederer 242 collecting and 244 have been quite nice. I prefer it over Cristal because of the added texture, but I know that's a hot take. I've always enjoyed Bollinger's La Grande Annee. Edit: I was struggling to remember Mandois. Love their champagne!
If you fly Japan Airlines 1st class from Tokyo they serve 2013 Salon. I agree it’s one of the most incredible champagnes- toasty, delightful bubbles, lovely acid and alcohol balance. Heavenly.
My top champagne pick would be Selosse, I have had a few of his wines, including his Rosé, Substance is very special for sure and never disappoints every time I had the opportunity to drink it. Will need to seek out a bottle of Salon… Also had fond memories of 1996 P2 Dom Perignon Cheers
Amazing episode, love the classement Carlos. I'm going to champagne tomorrow, and I will visit Vouette et Sorbee, pol Roger, Krug, salon and Larmandier Bernier hehe 😜😁
Which entry-level champagne of his top houses (Agrapart Terroirs, Egly-Ouriet Tradition, Krug Grande Cuvée, Selosse Initial) does Carlos prefer? Wasn't clear to me if he'd rank them the same as he does their top wines.
Same favorites as me, though I’d probably swap Agrapart for Bollinger (but Agrapart def top 10). If you’re talking top cuvees, Bollinger VVF is mind blowing Champagne.
Not sure I can afford any of Carlo’s favourites!?! 🥲 My personal favourite is a small house - Champagne Paul-Etienne Saint Germain. Has Carlo tried their champagne? Thoughts on it?
Thanks guys!
You bet!
Very good video guys
Thanks !
Thanks Hugo ❤️🥂

You have exquisite taste! Do you drink anything other than champagne?
Great work guys!!

Thanks for sharing Andrew - hopefully you’ll do the same if you crack open a bottle of Salon!!

Please send us some “video games”
Bravisimo, A Voutre Saunte Monsieurs. (my 2 cents, it gives you appreciation of the excellent value that Champagne Dellamotte is).
Always love to see your contributions my friend! dellamonte is a great bottle especially for the price comparison

This was there too wines for sure
Top*
@@GotSomme but i thought the bottle of Agrapart he ranked was the "7 crus" which means it is the entry level. Am I wrong?
Selosse is the best.. 🍾🥂😊
Certainly a wonderful house!
Krug for me 🥂

Certainly make the top 10 list and arguments for so many to make the five! Very hard to pick!!!!
My five in no particular order are Pol Roger, Deutz, Krug, Louis Roederer and Heidsieck & Co
Thanks Chris! Appreciate you dropping a comment and you have some good taste 🥂
Carlos Simões Santos is Brazilian???
Portugese
@@GotSomme have a fan of Brazil 🇧🇷
I only drink Krug in butcher glasses at the Exeter in Adelaide. IYKYK
I know and I know! Champagne XS 😉
Any ranking for grower producers? For me so far Krug has been king but second Dom Perginon
Hmmm Carlos prefers champagnes with vintage to show time and place
Well now you have to propose to Carlos
Hahahahahaha next episode idea
No Cedric Bouchard? Interesting . . .
Maybe just outside the top 5
@@GotSomme Hard to take this list seriously without Cedric in the top 5. Most in demand small producer champagne out there and it isn’t close. Sorry
But they don't say _why_ it's every 3 years
Which part sorry? Hopefully can help out here ☺️
@@GotSomme The last champagne - the winner: it's produced every 3 years. I noticed it because there's a rioja which does the same thing.
Seelose
A great choice!
For me, Pol Roger should have made the list.
Winston Churchill?
@@GotSommetried the 2015 last week. wowww

Have you tried Ayala?
@@GotSomme No, but I will look for it! 👍
