Rolling Stones legend Bill Wyman has forced officials to change the wording on a blue plaque honouring the band after condemning it as “disgusting”. The inscription at Dartford station in Kent said Mick Jagger and Keith Richards met there “and went on to form The Rolling Stones”. But Wyman, 78, objected, saying it was the late guitarist Brian Jones who created the group. The bass player, who quit the band in 1993, told Radio 5 Live the plaque was “disgusting”. He added: “It should be to Brian Jones. It’s wrong. I don’t like history re-written. "Mick and Keith didn’t create the Stones, they were part of it, like all of us. “Brian wanted to form a blues band and enlisted each member one by one. He gave us the name, he chose the music and he was the leader.” Jagger and Richards both went to school in Dartford. They met up again on platform 2 of the town’s station in 1961 and bonded over a love of blues, forming a musical partnership that still endures. Council leader Jeremy Kite said: “A new plaque will makes it clear that this is where Mick met Keith before going on to be part of the Stones.”

Many people wrongfully Believe that The Rolling Stones lasted for 50+ years, however, that's just money talking and media hype. The fact is the band went musically bankrupt when they ran out of Brian Jones's materials by mid 1970s when Mick Taylor quit the band. Brian Jones created the band, it's style of music, recruited the members, Stew gave them the name, Kieth Richards and what's his name Micheal Jagger went for the ride. However being jealous of Brian popularity, the two bullied Brian out, and stole his band. Michael Jagger could only play the “girls”, but commented well on what's going on in those days which was easy to do in 60s, and that made up the songs he wrote. Richards was a symbol of drug abuse, also very common in 60s for obvious reason, so Ronnie and Taylor put up the bill for the guitar part most of the time. Charlie and Bill of course managed to keep the band together. Being a Rolling Stones fan, I have not heard of anything that the band played that could sound anything close to The Rolling Stones since mid-70s, the band was dead, finished. Kieth Richards, and the showman, what's his name Micheal Jagger tried to ride on the old fame but could never do anything well like the old days with Brian Jones, the leader and creator of the band. Pushing Jones out of the band was their biggest mistake. In the end, the band came at a right time and right place, and that made them up to the top, however, greed and jealousy took it down.
"I saw Brian a few days before he died. He lived down the road from me, the house he lived in was very close to mine. You know I loved him a lot. I could have killed him, the amount of times he was so objectionable. He was a really...he was one of those blokes, man, that you could kill and love. We're talking about a love/hate relationship, I think everyone involved with Brian it was a total love/hate relationship. But my love was always more in excess than the hate."--Charlie Watts
