Beautiful job! Thank you for explaining that the green is not a fungus, it is s water mold. I can’t always get people to realize that. When my clients get it, which is not often, I put fung off on it and it kills it. Then it just grows out. You’re doing a great job!
Just a note about hydrogen peroxide - “While hydrogen peroxide is a common disinfectant due to its bacteria-killing properties, it is dangerous to human cells as well as bacteria.” That’s why I don’t use it except for cleaning around the house. I pour it down the drain because it helps eliminate odors that sometimes happen in the bathroom sink.
Just found your channel today, you are doing great for a newbie! I did nails for 25+ years (got my license in 1982, retired a few years ago)), including my own. When ever I'd get a spot of green fungus like that, I'd remove the acrylic if it was still on, use a buffer to remove the shine from the nail, take a cotton swab with hydrogen peroxide on it and rub it on the spot for a minute, then let it set there for a few minutes. It will foam up a little, that's it working to kill the fungus and bleach the color away. It will end up a light yellow/green color that can't be seen if you use a transparent pink powder or at all if you use a cover pink. As long as you treat it before you cover it again, it will just grow out. You do acrylics like a pro! Great job! I'm clicking that subscribe button.
Question for you, since you were in the business for so long, I am new to now self-taught! I was thinking about getting my license but I wanted to know is it a lucrative career? Were you happy with the money you were able to make doing nails? You don't have to answer if you don't want but it would be appreciated, thanks!
@@divadee04ds I was born with a love for all things hair, makeup and nails related. It just seemed like a natural step to take, I actually started cosmetology school while I was in my last year of high school. I only had two classes a day, in order to keep me out of trouble, my parents enrolled me in a school. I started out doing everything, hair nails, I got 2 degrees in makeup but nails were always my biggest love. I did that for a few years, got married and moved to another state, went back to school to get the extra hours I needed for my license there and decided to also take the nail tech course, too. Got licensed in just nails and went to work. I didn't make a lot at first, I worked in a chain nail salon in a mall for a few years, then decided to move into a salon. The better you are, faster you are, quality of work, the more ingenious you get with nail art, it all matters with what you can charge and what you make in tips. Eventually I started my own business, my husband built a room for me on our house, it had to meet with all the State Board requirements, but I was happier doing it that way. I did it because I love doing nails and nail art so much so the money was secondary. If you really want to make a good living at it, you get very good, very fast, start entering competitions, and if you are lucky you'll end up as a rep for a nail product company. Otherwise, you can still make a decent living as a nail tech. Sorry this is so long but I hope that answers it for you!
Dawn della Morte very motivational. I’ve only been doing nails for 1 year. I been license in cosmetology since 07, and I too fell in love with doing nails. My goal is to get good enough to branch off for my self. Thanks for sharing
Beautiful Dee, I can't get over how satisfying you're acrylic laying is to me lol. So smooth, it's AWESOME! Thank you for always sharing your work with us. Showing love from Phoenix, AZ.
This is a Beautiful set. She can soak the middle nail 2x a day in a mix of half vinegar and half warm water, it should clear up in 2 or 3 days, this works even with nail extensions on. If she would rather wait it out, it should grow out on its own. Fungal infections usually come from wet trapped under nail. Tfs x
Its MOLD... That should never be overlayed w/acrylic... I just had a "bad break"... I was forced to remove my gel & acrylic... Yep... Im wearing a bandaid on my middle finger until my precious broken nail heals...😪 And Im still keeping My Gorgeous "Long Girls" Strong Long & Beautiful😍 I really like your perspective & as a nail tech... I understand U! Lovely Application technique too... Very very pretty results!! 💕😊💕💅💕😊💕
Not even gonna lie you are the first channel that I found that all of your videos great! I love ALL of the different styles of nails that you do, unlike the other channels that overdramatic diamonds and weird colors. Love your channel girl!
Hi I’m new to getting my nails done and I’m super nervous and not too sure how to ask for ombré nails because I usually get one color. Could you tell me how to ask to make sure that the person who is doing my nails understands what I want? Should I just say that I want almond pink and white ombré nails? They usually have me choose colors for gel so should I pick out pink and white?
Do you need a base coat with the top coat or can you just use the top coat ... is there a affordable top coat you would suggest ? For a beginner that’s practicing
Can you make a video on how you started off and how you build your clientele. Did you start getting clients while in school or did you wait til after ... and was school mostly about hair or did the focus a lot on nails as well ... and lastly do you do hair or just nails
these remind me of James Charles because he’s never wearing anything else 😂 your work is sooo flawless. right now on UA-cam i don’t think there’s anyone doing seamless cuticle application like you; other’s will be slightly messy which gives it a more home made look, but you seem to pay attention to every detail and it definitely shows in your work. keep posting and doing such beautiful work ! i really enjoy seeing it. (also i think it’s cool how you do such beautiful nails but you don’t have any on yourself. not hating on people who do nails and have their own done , it’s just i think it shows how much more serious you are. idk because i feel long nails might get in the way a bit and you’re just making sure your work is FLAWLESS. love that. love your work.
I remember having that green stuff on my fingernail once, i was highkey scared but it eventually went away without me doing anything to it loll. Till dis day ion know what that was 😭
I was going to a nail tech that wouldn't always put primer on first and used cheap acrylic. Both of my thumb nails cracked and I got them repaired. There was a gap under there where water got trapped in and the fungus grew. I let mine grow out on its own.
Now THIS is what you call a perfect square!
Yes!!!
I’m taking my first short ombré client tomorrow and this video has helped me so much. Thank you !
Miss Dee, you are an amazing artist! I could watch all day!!!

Yes it’s just a greenie yes it has to grow out so you are correct love... I love your channel
