I’m a violinist. But am a spectator of ballet and ballet music. So I knew most of them. It’s easier for me to recognize the music than the actual ballet dance steps and choreography. Great video!
Yay, welcome! We have quite a few violinists on here that are also ballet enthusiasts :) You definitely had an advantage being a musician. Thanks for watching and playing along! 😊🤍
Hahaha thank you! 😅 She will be happy to know she’s not alone LOL Yes, we will consider making that happen for male variations for you all in a future video, stay tuned! :)
That Carmen intro is so iconic! Great video; nice that you've incorporated footage from the variations from different ballet companies. Really appreciate that!
Thank you so much!! Glad you played along and enjoyed it- we try to introduce different from different ballet companies :) Yes, that Carmen one really got Eden lol 😂
You two are terrifyingly good at knowing variations, and I love how happy your craft makes you - and the way you can't help dancing in your chairs! All your videos are delightful, I don't know how you do it!
Thank you, we appreciate your kind comments as always. 💕 It’s our pleasure to share our craft with you all and glad to have you here enjoying the joy of ballet with us 🩰 😊
This has really opened my eyes to how limited my music education was. I went to college for classical flute, and not once did I ever hear any of these flute solos. We're only trained in orchestra excerpts. That Pacquita variation solo is awesome, and I would have loved to learn it with my professor!
Omg I play this exact game with my daughter. I am a ballet lover from audience's perspective and she's training to become a ballerina and we have lots of fun with this
Thank you for another enchanting and funny video! This is a rare combination and you to do it very well. I smiled the whole way through! Jordan, congratulations on winning by a touchdown! Eden, you displayed great sportsmanship! I love how you added to the beautiful scenery aesthetic by having your ponytails slung over your respective shoulders, and you added the colour-matching mugs with the initials on them. 🤩 The only one of those variations I guessed was Carmen. I have not even heard of some of the ballets you mentioned so I have some research to do. Thank you! My favourite all-time Carmen, who can never be replaced in my heart but I am willing to watch many ballerinas just in case, is East Germany's Katarina Witt, who became a double Olympic gold medalist in figure skating in the 1988 Olympics! (There was no figure skating team competition back then, so there was only one medal available per individual skater or per couple. Kati had won the 1984 Olympics as well.) Katarina's Carmen is legendary: ua-cam.com/video/g7Ago3RRV6I/v-deo.html The pairs gold medal was won by equally legendary Soviets Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov, who skated their short program to a Carmen medley: ua-cam.com/video/ObXthZ7UECc/v-deo.html Thank you for the video! 😍🙏💐👏🩰
You’re so welcome! ❤️ Always happy to add a smile/laugh to y’all’s day 😂 Thank you for the kind comments! Glad to introduce some new ballets for you to learn about :) Great job on guessing Carmen! That’s interesting about the ballerina turned figure skater Olympic medalist- so crazy talented!
I got one! 😯 I didn't think I'd know any of them and was just watching you guys have fun being nerdy with your passion. I got Carmen at the end though! I am shooketh! haha. Great video guys! Big love from Manchester UK xXx
Yay, huge points for getting Carmen! Sure got Eden LOL!! We’re so glad you could play along and nerd out on ballet variations with us 😂. Much love 🇺🇸 ! ♥️♥️
This was charming. I'm embarrassed to say I would have gotten all but 2 with maybe 2 seconds of the music but very much enjoyed nerding out. Could you possibly list where the clips came from? I've never seen a full Paquita or more of Laurencia than that variation. I recognized Osipova, Novikova, and a very young Obravtsova (Cupid, right?) but missed a few of the others. Well done!
Thanks for watching and playing along 😁😁. Nice job, but yes, some of these ballet are definitely less popular :) Yup, yup, and yup that was Obraztova in Cupid 💘 (love that variation on her). Thanks for nerding out with us 🙃
I got: La Bayadere Shade, Sleeping Beauty Fairy, Kitri Act 3, Cinderella Summer Fairy, Don Q Cupid, Le Corsaire Gulnare, Paquita Jumping Variation, Coppelia Wedding, and Don Q Dulcinea at the first second and Raymonda Pizzicato and Carmen at two seconds. This was so fun!! Would love to see the male variation version too.
Yay! Wow you did so well, glad to know fellow ballet nerds out there :) Thanks for watching and playing this game with us. Definitely stay tuned for a male variation version 😅❤️
Actually, there are two Coppélias. In the original one created by Arthur Saint-Léon in Paris 1870 and danced by Giuseppina Bozzachi, this variation is in the third act ok, but it is Franz’s variation according to Pierre Lacotte who settled the forgotten ballet for the Paris Opéra company in 1974.
Love you two and what you bring to us. Fantastic. Will we have more of a chance to see ya'll's dance too... would love to see what you both bring to your art, craft... c'est possible?
Thank you so much! ♥️ Welcome and glad to have you here. Yes, definitely, we hope to show you more of us doing ballet in future videos! 🩰 Appreciate your support and kind comments- you all make it so much fun to share our craft.
Nina Ananiashvili did the one that sounds like a male variation in one of her tours in the 90s. Watched those videos too many times lol. But one excellent pas de deux in the videos is elizabeth platel doing...ugh, forgot the ballet! Oh! Grand Pas Classique!!!
@@balletreign I know! Yeah so rewatchable. Oh I have another story for you... Ever see the Romeo and Juliet proposal with sf ballet around 2010? I took it. Was also a student featured in an add for af ballet in the 70s. Have a bad copy framed lol
