The image of the basketball player elf blocking your rock throw is forever engrained in my subconscious. And all these years later, he returns. That beautiful smile. How convenient that Vinny recently played through Dink Smallwood, honestly this game feels like a weird spiritual successor.
The humor in this game is like a ~2010's time capsule and I kinda love it, brings me a weird sort of nostalgia for the kind of silly jokes and references you don't really see anymore.
@@pareidolist It changes it to something random and comes up with a little popup saying 'nice try'. You also get an achievement called 'lack of imagination'
Having watched the VOD for the old playthrough so many times the new voices Vinny does for the starting characters throw me in a loop, but it was really funny with Uncle Stoopnicksi he slowly reverted to the drunk accent he did 8 years ago.
I can only imagine the level of heartbreak the developers would have after having thanked Vinny for streaming their game all those years ago, and now having heard a chat member literally suggest "throw the game keys in the trash" yikes
This game has historical significance to Vinesauce, so it's being given some slack, but I genuinely think for every joke it lands it misses ten. Doesn't help that it's so wordy. Not a great game to stream, and the danger of being a parody is you have to be really careful not to just slip into being a bad example of the thing you're trying to parody. With no context, if in 2022 this was the first introduction we got to this game it would've probably been a 10-20 minute segment in a grab bag stream.
This game has forever ingrained 'the ubiquitous breaded chicken sandwich' into my vocabulary. I always say it whenever I see a chicken sandwich anywhere.
I love the implication that at least one person who has no idea about zelda would see the title of the stream and go 'I've never seen zelda 2, I wonder what it actually looked like' and they see this and wholeheartedly think this is it
For the number of times over the years Vinny mentions his poor memory the fact he still remembers specific scenes and names from this game speaks to how unique and full of heart it is
I was laying in bed facing away from my TV when he got to the end where he was handing out keys so when I turned back over and just saw a massive Yoder face I bust out laughing in surprise.
I genuinely love folk-art style games like this. Titles that look like complete incompetence on the surface, but are propelled to greatness through raw earnestness and offbeat verve. Reminds me a lot of Candice DeBébé and Dominique Pamplemousse.
It's amazing too seeing how far back some of this games go, like Ninja Nanny and Sherlock Sheltie, Space Kids, Museum of Anything Goes or so many weird nonsensical games that I can't name but their visuals are burned into my head. People have been making "Sunday Games" as far back as DOS days, we'll probably never run out of them.
fun fact in 2017 I emailed the developer of this game asking if I could contribute music to the game and he asked for a portfolio so I sent him 4 original pieces of music composed specifically with the game in mind and he never got back to me so I guess he didn't like my music, cool to see the game finally being finished and released
orsiene yeah that’s one of the reasons I wanted to work on the game so it could have a complete original soundtrack but I guess the developer preferred the stock music
I played through the entirety of this game on my steam deck. It's kind of amazing actually, I didn't come across a single issue despite the fact the creator never tested it once on the steam deck.
As the one who said 'I think about this game every day' in chat, im very sad I passed out during the stream and missed the chance to win a steam key for it
When he mentioned it in his zelda 2 vid I was like "what the hell is that game?" The second I saw the title screen I was taken back to when he first streamed it
Holy fucking shit I just watched the vod for the first time he played this earlier today (and had no idea he played the full version). That's insane. Anyways, can't wait to watch this, I'm sure it'll be wonderful as always.
I would drive myself insane trying to remember where Skabulbunt came from, never being able to find the VOD again, and seeing this has finally put my mind at ease.

skubulbunt is so proud
thank you, I never knew about that extension!
The original stream of this was one of the first Vinesauce streams I caught live. This is strangely nostalgic.
Definitely up there with Crypt Worlds in terms of VineClassics
It all comes full circle
My first Vine stream was that weird ass trippy Shrek game.
My First Vinesauce stream was Sit and Spin Adventure.
Mine was the Active Worlds Hitomi Fujiko one.
He didn't name himself Skbulbunt. None of you can fathom the rage this induces within me.
True
And then he kept calling Ditty Ditty, eventhough the name should be pronounced Ditty.
it's a little sad but you have to remember it's been like 8 years
"You're dead, Skubulbunt."
@@polocatfan that makes it more sad please stop. BRING BACK SKBULBUNT

I’m so happy Vinny is revisiting this.
Tabitha has such a perfect exotic 9 to 5 phone operator voice from the mythical land of New Joisey, I love it lmao
I still remember seeing the first time Vin played this so many years ago, I never thought it'd actually be come out in full and yet here it is
Wasn't worth the wait tbh, the dev took too long

8+ years for this game to come out and it’s actually finished and more fulfilling than Yandere Simulator lol

Oof
Having played the full game, it's not really finished haha
"oh didn't Vinny play this like, 4 years ago?"
Doctor: I'm afraid it's been, 8 years
The demo said this game started development in ‘05-this game is actually 15 years in the making.

This game truly is a masterpiece, i hope the King eventually gets to nail his Wife
That's the prequel, coming out in another 10 years
2:53 “I’m so happy I don’t have to read this dialogue.”
Oh, if only he knew at the time.
I think I love the cutscenes and the voice acting. The King in particular was entertaining to no end.
I'd vote for him
It's funny seeing Vinny repeat the same lines and Vinny-ism's now as he did 8 years ago..

A wonderful birthday present when this was streamed. Brings back a lot of memories to the original video/stream.
