@@omniyx7837 oh damn, that sucks. I suppose it really isn't very popular in north america, thanks to it being associated with just being a backyard casual sport. Denmark has a massive badminton culture, basically everywhere has a club and most if not all people play it as a casual sport.
Hi! I'm from China and I really like your videos, I'd like to know if you might analyse any women singles players such as An Se Young, Akane Yamaguchi or Tai Tzu Ying in the future 😄😄😄
certainly miss seeing momota playing. and the badminton world has lost such a legendary player. so much flair and finesse none of the current top players can match. such a shame the car accident in malaysia cost him a longer world career and the world, a legend.
Honestly the patience and consistency is why it took an accident and a streak of unfortunate events for Axelson to finally win against this man. Axelson is a great player, but Momota really just stopped him right on his tracks with his athleticism and consistency. Axelson would throw the entire bag at Momota and Momota would just stonewall through it all. In the end, when the battles came down to intuition and endurance, Momota thoroughly bested Axelson. That was until the accident ;(
Informative, crisp and very much clear and donot think any Chanel have this type of information???. Keep posting such type of videos later you will have more subscribers than any chanel!!!!...
Very nice analysis and detailed one. Technically this video is covering many aspects. Need more such analysis and need more qualitative and technically videos on all aspects. Thanks. Very satisfied 😊
How to correct, split step timing..how to practice the right to make split jump nd direction of split jump..?? Your content is very good ..keep it up 🔥🔥👍👍
Thanks really amazing content! Could you please do a video of shot and movement selection from the backcourt in various situations? For e.g. a drop on a china jump, a late forehand clear or late forehand drop shot, slice shots, and neutralisation movements. Basically when you need to decide what movement to take and what shot to play accordingly. Thanks
Thank you so much i will like and subscribe and yeah i missed him so much on the court and i just grabbed my racket practiced with my coach i could only do 3 things
Showing a video of Lee Chong Wei while praising Momota's footwork is kinda wild as Lee is often viewed as having the best and smoothest footwork in all of badminton.
hey! As a player, how do i fix and correct body control and stability? from 0:55 onward, that is exactly my current problem, im always bobbing up and down on court, and im very unstable, anything you can give me to help? thanks!!
A good tip we received before was to brace our core (flex our abs) and relax everything else when we play. When you're practicing, it's worth doing some footwork or multi-feed at a slower pace and put your focus on making sure your body doesn't bob back and forth. Additionally, instability also stems from not being low enough with your legs. Our general rule of thumb is to be low enough so that you don't have to bend your back when retrieving smashes and drops. Building core strength will also be helpful too. Hope this helps!
You didn't cover the most important difference to his later game and that was his shot selection. In his prime he would much more play downward from the back court or play short at the net and he was much much much more aggressive from the back court with smashes but also fast drops, so his opponents were always stressing about those shots, making his clear much more effective when he did clear. Later he would lift way, way too much and expect that he would somehow win the rally in the long run despite his giving away the initiative all the time and also his downward shots lacked impetus and urgency. I think Momota himself didn't understand how aggressive he actually played when he dominated and that is why he never regained his form, always playing passively and losing.
Not bad content, just that these points are rather generic. All successful players in ms satisfy these points you have made. I was expecting some kind of unique things about kento momota. If you are saying that kento is exceptionally good at these points you made, it would be better to see comparisons with other high level players who could not do them as well as kento does.
Kento Momota has so much beauty in his form and footwork.
100% agree!
So true, even though his mat his matches are a bit boring... His movement is mesmerizing

I really missed him on court. He was dominant and unbeatable. With the Olympic upset loss made him to perform poor or lack of confident
Yeah, Kento Momota has really had an unfortunate series of events post-2020. We wish him his best in his retirement!
He was so dominant in 2018-19, on course to conquer his home Olympics… then that accident and pandemic happened… does Momota deserve all this?? 😢
He missed 2016 due to a gambling related suspension. His 2021 loss was an upset but he just hasn't been right since his 2020 accident.
He has blurred vision that make him not good as before.
@@eieieiei6098 No, his vision was perfect, he says so himself. He just wasn't good enough anymore.
Ohh man I miss see him play on the court. He was the reason I got my interest back in badminton. Amazing gameplay consistency, footwork, strokes.
Me too man
Crazy to think what he would’ve/could’ve been had he not stepped in the van that day 😢
Crash isn't the reason why he is bad. He just didn't recover from epedemic situation and the break it forced

He is like Kodai with better shot quality, higher attacking power, and taller (which leads to more efficient footworks).
