To fix the remote, hold down on the menu/settings button for 6 seconds. You should see "Bluetooth disconnected" pop up on the TV screen. Remote should work now. You will now be using infrared to control the TV. Remote barley works when using Bluetooth for connectivity
Thank you, as you mentioned, in about other people's videos and give it a whack, I instantly knew that was not going to work. What I need to know was where is the pinch point to open the case. I give credit to Hi Sense that line is quite indistinct when handling the remote. Anyway, your tutelage on opening it was most helpful, your method worked perfectly. Just one note to viewers is to remember it won't just open like an egg. The other half of the battery connection are in the back half. Gently work in a sidewise lifting motion (from the bottom) and it will separate. 👍

Yep, popped right open. It was accidently placed in a glass of water but pulled out immediately. Someone thought the glass was empty while organizing a desk area. On the inside was just a scant touch of moisture on the chip board, wiped with a clean cloth and snapped back together Just a small battle scar on the side that I will slap vigorously with a piece in fine sand paper sometime in the near future. Thanks!
Something that worked for me and another thing to try is, with the batteries in, hold the three line button for 5 seconds. It changes the remotes mode. Worked right away after that.
Thank you so much 🥰💜 it worked I couldn't believe it, my remote has been through a lot it's missing the "OK" button, among other things, but it worked and I couldn't believe it thank you so much, thank you 💜💜💜💜💜
now we know what Home electrical appliances repair places do, basically for remotes they clean them, but then again with some remotes they fail after a while circuit board has a failure in it someplace which you would need a proper diagnostic system to work out which diode or circuit is faulty? when you can buy a $50 to 70.00 dollar replacement remote if all else fails?
tried everything for this remote ERF6A31 and no matter what i did the TV would not pair with the remote, plus the red light would flixer when you move the batteries up or down depending on the spring, ie: pushing it up away from the spring and the red light would come n very briefly?
Open up the case. Wipe the circuit board. Lift off the clear plastic sticker covering the silver direction dots. Lift off tge faulty silver circle button and swap it with another silver direction button and test if it will click? If it does, swap it back to the original faulty position. It what I did and it fixed the left and down direction button. Both made the clicking noise again and worked! Good luck
If it looks like a silver circle, it is most likely a dome switch. If so, the silver bit is the dome, and underneath the dome is the contact on the board. It is very hard to clean dome switches. Most of the time they do not fail, but they do fail, just get a new remote.
@@Repair2Renew I have a similar problem but my directional dome is not bouncing out or giving a signal to the tv either. EDIT: you remove the thin adhesive tape removed the small silver buttons and put them in the alcohol. I took a tooth brush and alcohol and scrubbed the carbon button area to get old adhesive out from under where the silver buttons were so they didn't get stuck down anymore, dried the silver buttons making sure to finish the clean perfectly as possible. Put it back together and it's working like a brand new clicking audibly.
Remote works, however, certain buttons get no response right out of the box. Home and LiveTV buttons do absolutely nothing. No light emits from the remote when buttons pressed. Would also like to reprogram the Google Play button since I don't have Google play, and would like to program the four colored buttons as well.
Mine is delayed for minutes, not seconds. I can run to the bathroom at the other end of the house and it still doesn't move. The UA-cam button is now the power button and the power button doesn't work at all.
worked...netflix button was stuck on. To check your remote is working..turn on your mobile phone camera and set to selfie mode. Look at the front of your remote on the camera...if it's working there will be a pink light flashing as you press the buttons. Mine was contantly working except when I pressed netflix so I knew the netflix button was giving problems. When I opened it up, there was some stains around the netflix button.
If you do not have isopropyl alcohol, you could disassemble the remote. Then Clean: ▶ Plastic parts with warm water (let these parts completely dry) ▶ Rubber button membrane with warm water (let these parts completely dry) ▶ Printed Circuit Board (PCB), with methylated spirits (let these parts completely dry) Goodluck
You will have to follow your manufacturers instructions. But try unplugging your TV for 5 min, then plug in again and test remote. Otherwise if cleaning fails, order remote from ebay as video says.

I have been telling this solution to many people and reported to hisense. But no one pays any heed. World does not respect short resolution anymore.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!! This is what worked for me. I tried everything. I removed the Bluetooth pairing and it now works. Thank you!🙏
my new hisense remote can't be programed to my new. remote
Removing the battery and pressing all the buttons progressively worked for me. Thank you very much
Thank you. No slot to open the case, so very useful.
Thx for feedback
Thank you! Remote trick in the beginning worked like a charm
You're welcome!

I didnt follow your water and coke idea, but I did open and clean the parts with alcohol and now my remote is working! Thanks!
No No No, water and coke was me causing deliberate damage to remote.
Always use isopropyl alcohol to clean !
@@Repair2Renewoh, okay. Well good thing I didn't do that.....Lol
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, brilliant the remote now works cheers

A very big thanks for this. It worked straight away for me. Removing the batteries & holding the power button down for 30 seconds did the trick.

Yes, Its not worth diagnosing, if a quick clean fixes it great, otherwise an ebay remote for $40 bucks
Hi matey,
My remote powers the tv on then is unresponsive? Can’t even turn it back off.
Any idea?
Cheers
No idea Andrew. You might be better getting a new remote from ebay.
They are only around $20-$35.
@@Repair2Renew hahah I’ll buy another, how hard is it to connect a new remote?

what about the metal direction and OK buttons? i feel my left button is not working (just with insanely pressing force)

What if it's one of the directional buttons that doesn't have the carbon track?
If the carbon track is damaged, try a pencil to re-mark the area.
If the track is completely gone, look for a new remote on ebay.
@@Repair2Renew the directional buttons don't have a carbon track to start with, they're silver circles

Can you use petrol
Cannot get it to open with a screwdriver. Any tips??
It has to be a thin bladed screwdriver, but otherwise try and buy a new remote from Ebay, should be around $20

Won't those liquid cause damage to electric devices?.
If not why
Good question Unfazed. No isopropyl Alcohol leaves no residue, also absorbs water and other liquids. I use a similar technique on Macbook logicboards.

Great stuff Anish
Another of times you can't fix . Slow processor in the tv remote gas nothing to do with it
I have the 40h4030f1 Hisense tv it's stuck on headset mode I've tried everything 😠
No idea. Unplug TV for 10 minutes. Change remote batteries. Try again.
Failing that, send TV back to factory reset
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for thumbs up!
My remote is not popping up like it's
You might have to write your question a different way, I do not understand ?
It didn't work cry😭
seriously if ya have to go to that much effort maybe Hisense should design a better remote
Maybe they will in the Future?
