Glad you were not hurt too much. Take care!🙏
I wasn't hurt. It was just embarrassing. Thank you. I'll be more in the future.
Glad you are ok ✅
Thanks. I was a little stiff the next day but I was fine overall.
The most glorious intro I’ve ever watched. LOL, hope your okay dude 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Haha. Yeah. I am fine. The only casualty of that mess was my shorts. I never got the mud stain out of them. Haha
That is probably one of the most common accidents for tourists in se-asia.
Uneven pavements holes in pavements or slippery wet stone surfaces, i happy you escaped injury other than ur pride;)
I should have known better and I was second guessing my idea the moment I headed towards that spot. Once again I should listen to my intuition when it screams at me. Haha. At least I caught it on camera and it looked funny.
Don’t walk so far….it makes you weary.
Glad your not injured
I usually walk 10 -20 k steps a day. This was close to 24k by the end of the day. When I slipped I was still in my regular range, but the addition of hills and rain made it a bit more tiring for me. I'll make sure to reign it in next time.
Kudos to you even walking around Sihanoukville, been there twice, first time about 15 years ago, then it was a very Asian local beach town, undeveloped and much more fun and interesting, compared to my 2nd visit about 5 years ago, when almost the whole town was a building site! Dust and debris everywhere, Chinese workers and horrible buildings! I’ve fallen over in the street a number of times, fortunately I’am only 73kilos and keep fit, play sports like Badminton, so falling on my face a few times helps 😊 even now I’am 71 years old and still play regularly!
Falling is no fun. I did it more often in Canada. The winter is a pain in the butt for people who walk. Why they clean the streets but ignore the sidewalks always baffled me. I would slip and fall three or four times a year on the ice. I even bought little metal spikes that you can add to your shows and I would still find a way to fall on my face. Haha
I am not good walking uneven wet surfaces … yikes, it looks painful 😣 😅😂
It looked worse than it was. I was fine. Just some dirt and water. My shorts took more damage than I did. Haha
Psa Leu is a huge local market to visit if you have a chance but you already left.
Be careful while walking due to uneven sidewalks, potholes, and slippery when wet.
Glad you are safe. Peace ✌️
I was actually heading to that market before I fell. It was on the way to the restaurant I went to. I skipped it because in my head I figured that the floors of a market would probably be wet and I didn't want to fall again. Plus I was dirty and just wanted to go back to the hotel.
Glad you didn't hurt yourself. That exact surface sent me on my ass outside 7v in Thailand. I went down hard...
I used to ride a skateboard all the time when I was younger, so I learned quickly how to fall properly. I'm just glad that my body reacted the way it did. The only thing that got hurt was my shorts. I had to wash them two times to finally get that mud off of them. Haha
It’s the journey of the walk that sometimes surpasses the destination
You never know where you'll end up or how you will get there. Sometimes you arrive on your backside. Haha
Yikes, that was a big fall…. No short cut in these streets. I fell in PP crooked street and scrapped my toes and knees. I had to go to ER the next day… $200…
Since then I am very very cautious when I see any liquid on the sidewalk.
Sorry to hear about your fall and the cost of it. Thankfully I took most of the fall on my butt. I seem to still have sufficient padding there. Haha
We are catching up now on your recent videos… you handled that slip in the mud with much grace and humour! And you still had that beautiful smile as always! God bless you dear Sean! 🙏🙏😘😘🤗🤗
I thought the fall was hilarious. When looking back at where I slipped, I saw a path that was free and clear. Why I chose the difficult path that could cause the fall, I'll never know. All that mattered to me was that the only thing hurt was my pride and that wasn't hurt much at all. Haha
hey Sean I believe that was a marlin not a dolphin
Probably. I didn't have my glasses on and to me it looked like all of the ornamental dolphins I grew up seeing in Florida. Haha
I'm soooo glad you went back and shot some video of exactly where/how you slipped and fell. If you hadn't done that, I would have been up all night trying to picture exactly what happened. 😂
On the other hand, it's great that you actually have video of the moment of the fall. I was following the journey of Itchy Boots in Africa, and it drove me crazy that she ended up with no to little video of the actual crashes and disasters she encountered. By chance, her cameras wouldn't be running at the exact moment she crashed or the boat tipped and her motorcycle went into the river. She would fire up the cameras AFTER the crash most of the time. It was just bad timing for her.
But you got the whole thing in glorious Pocket 3 video. And it seems like you instinctively sacrificed your body to save the camera. When people go down like that, there is a powerful instinct to let the camera go flying and brace your fall with your hands. But you held on to the Pocket 3 and saved it.
Thinking back over all the big falls I've taken while holding a camera, I sent the camera flying every single time. Instincts took over, and I let the camera go every time. Totally shattered the camera and lens one time. But you saved the camera. 👍
I don't know why my instincts kicked in to save the camera, but I'm glad I did. Haha. It was quite the tumble.
To be honest. If I had hurt myself and had the footage of it, I may not have been inclined to share it. Having to relive the trauma may be difficult. I had no problem with this because I thought it was hilarious and would make for a funny end to the video. Plus I wanted to clean up a bit. That mud smelled really awful. Yuck.
56 is young Sean... You are in your prime. You inspire me to travel...I googled flights to Phenon Phen today, fun to have a dream. Wendy from NB
I do feel like I'm in my prime. Or at least closer to it than I have been in ages. Haha.
When I flew into Bangkok last year the flight was 1200 or 1300 for one way. Best money I've ever spent. I'm happy that I took this leap of faith for myself. I thought that I would start missing things back home by now, but I don't. Maybe a few things I miss, but not enough to make me want to come back. Haha
It's a good dream to have. I hope you are able to make the leap one day.
@@FrugalWanderer I have a twenty year old Chihuahua, he is not long for this world, we are spending our last sweet days together and then i will go...
Safe travels to your Chihuahua. That's awesome that you are putting your plans on hold for them. Pets are family and deserve love and caring for their entire life.
You fell for Sihanoukville… hope, you didn’t fall bad…
I didn't fall for it the way I hoped I would have. Haha. The fall wasn't bad at all. Just dirty and muddy. I was fine. I even travelled the next day and spent a few hours wandering Phnom Penh. I was fine
Glad you are okay, as one around your age who also takes spills once awhile when exploring I literally felt pain in my ankles like I fell when you fell.
Luckily for me, I did not injure myself. I was fortunate and I'm being way more careful while walking on the sidewalks. Take care of yourself too.
Dont think its a dolphin, got a sharp point on it. I have cuddled and swam with dolphins in bahamas and mexico.
Maybe a Marlin then? Haha. In the moment I thought it was a dolphin. I could just as easily be wrong. Haha
Nice walk… would like to see what available in a restaurant … western or local food?
I tried to go to a few restaurants and gave up. The prices were way more than I was willing to pay. I tried 5 different ones on my first day in town and I ended up just ordering food to be delivered to my hotel. I didn't have the best luck there. It may have been the area or the places I chose to look at. Not sure.
You've been on the booze Sean? ,only joking ,I know you don't drink ..Take care
Haha. I have an occasional drink and mostly on video. I do enjoy the taste of tequila with a good taco. Without a taco, I wouldn't bother. Haha
I want go
I hope you get a chance to go there and have fun.
