Just came across your channel. Not sure if it’s divine intervention or pure coincidence but I live in Lexington and just got offered a flatbed job from Roehl yesterday. Recruiter calls me back Monday to get me started the following Monday in Gary. Already have my cdl so I just have orientation, securement training, and OTR with trainer for 2 weeks.
Enjoying the videos! I appreciate the insights into driving after being with trainer. I am considering Epes Transport and Roehl weighing the pros and cons of staying local class B with no room for more pay or the potential for better pay with experience driving regional OTR 5-7 days out(Epes). What kinda miles are you getting? I am concerned with that with the way freight market has been. Also, as my handle suggests, I am a carnivore, mostly. Been doing it for a year and am down @ 40 lbs and reversed type 2 diabetes!
Your miles don’t be counted by the day. Your miles are counted by the load, & it’s usually zip code to zip code. You got this trucking thing. Don’t do a lease purchase. I tried it & it doesn’t make sense to pay the truck note, & fuel it for the company bc you’ll end up with just a few more dollars than you would being company. But it comes with a bigger headache. Just my experience on it. Stay safe out there brother.
I wanted to ask where you park your trailer on your days off. I just got offered a job and they told me I wild keep the truck and trailer on my days off. I can park the tractor in my driveway but no room for a trailer. I found a cargo box business that said I can leave the trailer there for $150 a month but if I can find somewhere that doesn’t charge that would be ideal.
I was able to park my trailer at a place that a Mennonite man owned, around 2 miles from my home. They told me it had to be a place that was within three miles of my home. So I would park my trailer on his property and then bobtail around 2 miles home. It worked out great for me. He owns a grocery store nearby. I called around to the local stores and he was the only one willing to let me park there. When I asked him a price he said "you and your family come by the store and shop and we will call it even". I've been very thankful for that. I am with US Xpress now and I plan to do the same thing when I have to pull a trailer home. I wish you the best with your trucking journey 👍
From what they told me I am a regional OTR truck driver. Roehl describes regional and National as OTR, if I'm not mistaken. They said for their contract I had to be OTR hut had the option to choose regional or national.

I read the scripture that you put up, but I don't agree with you on your political views on Donald Trump being a leader for this Country, some of Donald Trump view I like but it not enough to turn me to vote for him. And here's why he's has a racial tone toward African Americans, Hispanics, and the poor in a settle way in not so settle. He's a double minded man and unstable in all his ways.... James1 verse 8. But lets put our political views at rest. In this video you said you wouldn't like to be a training I think you'll be a great trainer. So keep the video going I really enjoy watching them.

I'm not saying you are a Democrat but that comment seems to be stemming from that sort of mindset. Trump stood up for God thr whole time he was in office and our country flourished as a result. The democrats are the ones pushing evil. Slaughtering babies, open borders, homosexuality, transgender, fake identities, wars, lies, abomination. The media lied numerous times saying Trump would not denounce the kkk and he did it over 20 times if I'm not mistaken. I can send you the clips if you like. Along with a huge list of good things that Trump did as president and a huge list of bad things that Biden and the democrats have done since he somehow got into office. I'm not sure why you want to leave this topic at rest after bringing it up to me. The problems that we have in our country are a result of our country turning its back on God. The democrats are trying to take God out of everything and they put a man in front of the United States who said he was "praying in the name of a monotheistic God". Not yet. I was supposed to this past week but he said they didn't have a truck available so he said it would be next week before I switched trucks.
