I swear to God HR professionals are little better than lawyers in society. Why the hell would somebody having a criminal background automatically cause you to resend a job offer? What about looking into what the crime was what the circumstances were how long ago it was to discriminate against somebody because their background isn't pristine is a little cruel. What if the crime was over 20 years ago what if they have since been married and have small children should this person automatically be discriminated to a life of manual labor and low income? Pretty pathetic I think
What if I have been employed for the past 10 months and my employer forgot to run my background check, can they still run it although I was already given the job even if they find something that might be against their policy or policies ?
Hey Juan! I recommend asking your HR professional or an employment lawyer if you have questions like this. To get a background check run, your employer must have you sign a form granting your permission to do so. This is usually completed during the onboarding process.
