Yeah, this whole affair of MT is fictional, so is her pregnancy as a result of it, so of course Francis's decent attitude to it is only fiction, too. The realistic way was that while it didn't matter if the husband was unfaithful, a wife being unfaithful was strictly forbidden. That is how most cheating men saw it too. Though this very "modern" approach from Francis is not exactly out of character here, I think. He had very modern morals in many things, he had a modern approach to fatherhood, and he was one of those very very few consort husbands in history who had zero problems with accepting a ruler wife. Even in the 20th century queens' husband (Elizabeth II's, Margaret II's), had problems with it, while it seems that Francis was pretty okay with it always.

So when she found out she was pregnant, she was sure it was not her husband's. In this video, she is trying to find a way how to get away with it without her husband finding out about it.
