      @@scallen3841 Pro Stock would have 30 + cars on the grounds battling to make it into the 16 car field. In the Southeastern part of the country, the deep South there were so many teams and thus race cars. Running IHRA Mountain Motors mostly with one or two NHRA legal 500 inch engines and the changeover of so many cars would take place if the NHRA tour hit that part of the country. Once in a great while a car like Jim Ruth's Party time 1984 Pontiac Trans Am might make it into the bottom half of the field. Get a little race day exposure and then bow out in the early rounds. It would help because regular NHRA event spectators would get curious about seeing M. M. cars run an IHRA race with another 200-300+ inches in their car and the level of performance that would add. Not so much room for that type of thing anymore. Now teams must stay focused on running and refining one combination. Plus the Pro Mod cars tend to be somewhat akin to fill a similar need as P/M does but with a tamer more settled show than wilder Door Slammers with varied power assets. Running times Nitro cars did during the mid to late 70's.

      Back then cars weren’t making 1500hp and aerodynamics were poor. I agree though pro stocks are my favorite class and it seems like nhra wants them to go away. Sad to watch this class demise.

    That's a pile of money sitting right there. Some of the most advanced engine components in a conventional 90 degree V8 that there is right there. The cylinder heads on that thing.....I'd love to just sit and look at them off the engine and stare, and drool.

      Don't know how crazy you gonna get with the Cylinder Heads, don't Know what Elite Motorsports Camp is running, But i know the KB cars, just a few years ago, were running Trick Flow BBC Heads, you can by Those castings right from Summit Racing or anywhere else they sell Trick Flow stuff. I Know there's Lots of work that goes into the Heads, and All top of the line Valvetrain Components, with Really High Spring Pressure to turn Over 10,000 rpms. I don't think there running any one off Exotic Billet Cylinder Heads nowadays, i haven't been following as well as i used to since the Fuel Injection Days Started. I like my Pro Stock with Carburetors and Hood Scoops !

      You haven't seen the transmissions these cars run do you...they are indestructible. They can hold over 5000hp, have very low drag, come in 3-7 speeds, and they are manually shifted and engaged. Each one costs around 10 grand and you can get custom gear ratios. They are called a Liberty Equalizer

      After the run they watch the slo-mo to see how much tire spin. The white paint helps with that.

    does the driver need to make a seat fit just like most of car racing? Or is there a way to adjust the driving position in a Pro Stock car?

    How much money does it cost to run a pro stock car?

    • @danmullock1819
      @danmullock1819  6 років тому +1

      Per race or for a full season? A full season a well stocked team like elite is about 1.2 to 1.5 million dollars a year. With 24 races a year anywhere from 50k to 80k a race. Thats fuel travel salary replacement parts etc etc. Per run probably a couple hundred dollars. I dont know exact figure just what I've heard hanging around the pits from different teams. Mostly Elite Motorsports.

    It's like Erica wasting her time with this bunch . They haven't given her competitive car in years . For some reason the car doesn't go down the track consistently .

    • @danmullock1819
      @danmullock1819  6 років тому +2

      Joe Valdrighi I disagree while she hasn't been super competitive in the last few years, she is not just jumping ship because things arent gping her way. They are working through the issues as a team as a family and making things work. They look much better and have fixed a few engine bugs that have been plaguing them.

    • @joevald3
      @joevald3 6 років тому

      Just curious how do you explain Vincent Mobile changing chassis manufacturers same power much better going down the track . You cannot waste your career waiting for people to work problems out . Your career is too short

    • @danmullock1819
      @danmullock1819  6 років тому

      Joe Valdrighi he changed chassis because he didnt finish the season and sold the car off. With all of the changes in the prostock class he had more options coming back into it. Plus a new chassis performs better anyways. The circumstances around his return benefited him. They are applying the same stratagies to three cars and his is doing better because of the chassis.
