The thing Russians need to understand about NATO is they are a defense based alliance. They aren't in the habit of invading other countries.
When eastern European countries joined NATO their military were dumbfounded to find that there were no plans for attacking the Warsaw Pact countries.
Russia should count the times NATO has attacked to gain a new country. Zero times.
@adongojoshua561 Libyan operation wasn't a NATO-operarion. Many countries like sweden partook in it but weren't members, and vice versa. This means that nato as a organisation is defensive, while some countries might act offensively independently of the alliance.
As for nato expansion, this means that more countries in nato isn't nato encroaching on your backwards dictatorship, but rather a country wanting to be protected.

How crazy is it that every Russian family making one of those videos seems to have a framed picture of Putin? I can't imagine what it would take for me to be willing to do that with any politician.
