Wow :-) Kythera has always been on my list since "Adventures on Kythera" - the kids tv series filmed on Kythera. Series 1 was shot on tubed Betacam and looked awesome. The feel reminds me so much of Greece and the Greek islands - a unique and beautiful country, a unique and beautiful people.
Visited 10 Greek islands in 2019, and Kythira had some of the best beaches, clean and not too busy in October, weather was great, not too hot. Stayed in Avlemonas, beautiful. No public transport on island, need to hire a car from the airport, easy to navigate around, nice towns to visit.
@@rrocketman I was making up for lost time, I hadn't been back to Greece for 40 yrs and I surprised my cousins by just turning up on their doorstep- the look on their faces was priceless! Greece is beautiful and I will try to go every two years and see many more beautiful islands. I'm from Australia, we are so far away.
@@anastasios3006 That would have been quite a surprise to your family! I have done something similar so I understand. Australia is a long way. Scoot airlines (Singapore) was starting to have good deals then this pandemic ruined things..
@@rrocketman Yeah, Scoot does have good deals. I just can't wait to visit more islands and it was amazing to reconnect with all my cousins, big mistake I made not visiting earlier, you only live once and life passes so quickly, have to grab it with both hands and enjoy it. Cheers

We hiked and then down-climbed to the magic green pool. We were the only ones there.Truly one of the worlds most wonderful places!

Yes, there is a 6 hour ferry from Piraeus to Kythira, it's what I'm doing in September :)
