I kinda wonder if the company manufacturing these frames for Trek didn't have an excess of these or just couldn't get retooled for boost 148 in a timely manner. The X Caliber and 2021 and older Roscoe shared the same frame, just different colorways. I just had a frame warranty claim on my 2020 Roscoe 8 due to a crack along the weld at the seat tube and seat stay junction. Trek responded quickly and I was back on the bike in only 8 days. I originally had the mat black w/ marigold fade, but the new frame Trek sent is the 2021 X Caliber 8 colorway mat black w/ white and silver decals and no model name on the top tube. Thumbs up to Trek for such a speedy response. Since my frame is technically a X Caliber 8 w/ my Roscoe 8 components and my upgraded RS Revelation 120mm fork, Race Face Affect 35 Bar and Stem, RF Getta Grip 33's, and a more comfortable saddle, I am calling it a Roscoe X

Trek does this to nickel and dime their customers. Using cheap hubs and a Boost 141mm. Try finding them in quick release of good quality. What I found weird is no routing for a dropper post.
Is the 'quick release' on anyone's thru axle on the front wheel loose? I just got my xcaliber 8 yesterday and the quick release lever on the front wheel does not get tight. Some friends say that it might be really the case since the thru axle in the front 'screws in', so it doesn't really need a quick release lock. But I doubt that is really the intended design. 😕
It does not have a quick release lock. It shouldn’t be “loose” but it does not get very tight as long as it’s pushed in (so the quick release clamp is parallel with the fork)
Guessing they must do different colours in other countries. Just started looking at a new bike and this one is Satin Lithium Grey in Australia. Don't know if any parts are different though?
