My first proper separate amplifier that started my HIFI journey and opened my ears to quality and wider musical taste. Sadly mine died, beyond economical repair decades ago. Thanks for the memories.
Brilliant amp, the AX 500. I bought one new back in 1988 for £200. I sold it when I upgraded to musical Fidelity Pre Amp and 2 Typhoons. Bought another AX 500 about 10 years ago for £10 for use in a second system and really enjoy it.
Still rocking this baby, just counting days until it dies... so many transistor changes and repairs. Then i am finally gonna upgrade with all the fancy features and probably receiver, something like Sony STR-DN1080 or YAMAHA RX-V6A, since the AX-500 is hooked to my TV.
