Comparisons with Arenas and Mitchell look a bit silly (no offense) to me. Remember that every draft on average only produces around 5 All Stars and 20 legit NBA players. My comparison to Tyrese Maxey would be Terry Rozier. And that would be good value (as Rozier in a re-draft from the 2015 draft would climb from 16 to the 9-13 range). In those Rozier scouting videos fans said they got D-Wade vibes from him, go figure. I think Maxey has a lot of the same weaknesses as Rozier: inconsistent shooting, poor shot selection, tunnel vision, lacking playmaking qualities, vulnerable as a post defender on switches. They also share strengths: 3-level-scorers, very quick in transition, creative finishers, good on-ball defenders, great hustlers and good length/wingspan for a combo-guard.
Im translating and writing scouting report for HUPU, which is the biggest website f basketball in China. U wanna give some advise or idea about maxey? Like his future in nba kinda thing. I wll add it in that article.
I feel like Maxey has been underrated as a prospect. He’s an excellent point of attack defender. Always plays hard. Maxey is a great finisher at the rim and I buy his shot long term. I think he’ll be another Kentucky guard who is a better pro than college player.
Yea I’m a coach. I think his shot is fixable bc all he really needs to do is raise the release point. It’s too low. But he’s solid everywhere else in his form. Good footwork, good follow through. He doesn’t have a whacky shot like say Lonzo did, it’s a much easier fix for Maxey. He can also get to it easily in pull up situations and he has range. I’m a buyer in his shot
lemanu bateman Yeah my comp is CJ but a better defender at this point. By Mitchell-esque I meant how he would get drafted in the late lotto and then become a steal after his rookie year
By far the best breakdown on him out there. Good job, man!
Appreciate the kind words! Thanks for watching
Happy my Sixers picked him.
Can’t believe he dropped to them
@@nbadraftdude 76ers were able do get rid of J rich because of Maxey. Now we have Seth Curry. Sixers definitely won the trade and draft this year.
i love this film sesh of maxey keep working
Appreciate it my dude 🤘
He reminds me of Donovan Mitchell and Lu Dort
That’d be some combo! But he has pieces of both their games
quality video man
Thank you! Appreciate you watching Chris!

Maxey is super underrated right now!
I wouldn't be mad at that
Looking like Donovan Mitchell 👀
I’m sayin. He just fixes the jumper a bit and he can be big time

Rozier is no where near as athletic or fast as Maxey though.
I mean mitchell only made allstar last year because of injuries.
Hes a DeAron Fox J.J. Reddik hybrid
He has parts of both

nice vids 👍 i would love nyk to pick maxey.. are you a coach? how can you say if a shot is fixable or not?

Lou will
HEY KNICKS YOU WATCHING???
That Kentucky connection might come through here
@@nbadraftdude from your lips to God's ears bro LOL
Donovan Mitchell-esque
For sure! Not as bouncy but moves like him.
i see more of a cj mcollum / mitchell crossover
He reminds me more of a bradley beal

makes sense.
Gilbert Arenas but better defensively
I mean that’s a top 5 player if he gets there. If he can knock down dribble jumpers consistently then sky’s the limit
