When writing in cursive you use the creative side of the brain. It is artistic and a quick way to write. I think cursive should be taught in schools.
My young niece loved my note to her in cursive because the writing was beautiful. She couldn’t read it, so she decided to learn how to write in cursive on her own. Smart girl!
I write cursive all the time and made sure my daughter (now 18) could read it. Most schools stopped teaching it but every historical document is in cursive and it’s crucial to be able to read it.
I love cursive writing. It is beautiful penmanship. I hope the start teaching everywhere to give us a choice of what and when we write …
The Ioni makeup collection is Barbie inspired - that’s the theme 🙂
Cursive is a standard and is required in 3rd grade. I begin teaching cursive in the beginning of the year. Cursive is more difficult to copy than manuscript. Thinking of checks it's easier for counterfeiters/fraudulent check writers to copy manuscript than Cursive. For students struggling with print as you have to stop after each letter. In Cursive it's flowing and some children are more successful with Cursive. Even though most people don't write at all anymore, there is research to show how it helps the brain. Take it or leave it.
Super cute hair. Loki, in the background while you were talking to your daughter, just melted my heart. He's adorable.
I love writing in cursive. They stopped teaching kids nowadays but some teachers have picked it back up again. They don't make it such a critical thing to learn like when WE were in elementary back in the day. I remember my English teacher would dissect my cursive letters......it was hardcore! 😂
That quilt is beautiful! Love your space buns too. ❤️👍
I love writing in cursive. I can't imagine not writing in cursive or not being able to read it. Just like telling time. I like knowing how to tell time on a regular clock and not just digital. Great haul by the way!
I teach third grade, and it is a requirement to teach the kids how to write in cursive. BUT it is not graded or required to write in that format. We have to spend all our time cramming information in their heads to be able to pass the state test that is way above their capabilities developmentally!🥴🥴 I could go on and on and on with a rant about this for days! Anywho, the one bad thing about cursive not being enforced a bit more is that we are getting generations that can’t write their signature nor can they read the cursive print. I am like you though, I never write in cursive except my signature! And even then, I don’t write it correctly and put my own twist on it!🤣🤣
Cursive is therewith calligraphy. I WRITE ALL MY JURNALS in cursive so my great great gran children will be in awe, the same way we are when we see handwriting in the 18, and early 1900's.
I love writing in cursive. It's so much faster. Love that light-up jar. I would use it as decoration (ambiance) in a bathroom or on a shelf. Your space buns are so so cute! 🤩You need to wear your hair like that more often!
You need to learn cursive to read historical documents. A lost art that should have not been marginalized.
There's multiple apps and programs that translate cursive into print. Takes no time at all. My grandsons learned cursive in their school as an art form. They have not had any reason to use it as of yet, but they can do it. They are 10 and 13 and write me beautiful cards in cursive. As a corporate paralegal even the contracts we have signed are all electronic DocuSign now ..for the last 10 years actually.
Cursive hasn’t been required for several years. What are our children’s suppose to do.
The space buns look super cute on you.❤
I always write in cursive except when I am helping my 6 year old great granddaughter!!!
Writing in cursive was drilled into everybody way back then. In the early 80s lol I write in cursive to this very day.
Cursive should be a must for everyone. Now they want you to print in school. Cursive is not taught at our school in Tennessee
Ironically, I never notice when your nails aren't at their best, until you point it out. ❤
I would put colour bath salts in the jar
Catholic schools still teach kids cursive and have them write in it. My 16 year old niece started learning it the tail end of 2nd grade.
Marie cut a file you like in half and put it in the cases you like.
When my daughter was younger she tried to write in cursive. She just wrote in print then made lines connecting each letter 😂
That's about how I do it LOL 😂
That's hilarious 😂
Loki is so adorable. He gave a look at the end like “are you almost done mom?” I love cursive writing, it adds personalization to cards and notes.
I have bought a glass calligraphy pen from Dollar Tree
Cursive is no longer taught in school. Sadly a whole generation will not be able to read historical documents in their original script. And if they can't read it then how will they know if it was changed from the original.
I happen to love writing in cursive it just so pretty to read and look at.
Omg how cute with a little christmas scene look in that lighted jar
That’s a cute idea!!!
There is research to support the fact that there are certain brain connections that can only be made through cursive writing.
I have a 19 year old and a 15 year old, NEITHER can write OR read cursive. NEITHER know how to sign their names. They did learn cursive, but literally in 1 week…
Girl I love your space buns! So so so cute!
Wow, this is inspiring me too collect erasers. There are so many cool ones and they fit in a small box.
Thanks... that's just what I need... more dollar tree shopping 😅😊
I had to learn how to cursive in school but it was back in the 70’s. I don’t cursive now. Love how you did your hair so cute. Love everything you found in your haul. Loki is so sweet staying right by you as you do your haul and then playing with his favorite toy. Tysm for always giving us such a great time.
That quilt is adorable! Can’t wait to see your patriotic decor!
Your hair is super cute!!
It’s the dollhouse series- play kitchen / I think Barbie inspired
Love the hair Marie. ❤❤
I still write in cursive. ♥ Love love your hair!
I think the price stickers are items that are coming in from Family Dollar stores that are closing since Dollar Tree bought them out.
Your makeup is fire 🔥, your space buns are fire 🔥, great vid
The red $1.25 price tag is like what the 99 & more and the Only 99 Stores used.
Cute space buns!
Cursive is faster than printing. I graduated in the 80s, and you wrote everything out unless you had a typewriter. Most didn't. As far as a check, you can print everything except the signature line. That has to be in cursive or they will return the check.
Jennie Robertson, the comedian use to say that kids should learn cursive writing so they could read her will!
My daughter is 15 and was never taught cursive writing in school. When she was in grade 3 I bought her hand lettering workbooks from the Dollar Tree so she could learn.
Those scented oil bottles you bought , are a dupe for the air wick essential oil diffuser. So if you can’t find it at dollar, Walmart and other stores carry the name brand version.
I already have an air wick diffuser and just buy the dollar tree version of scents
Cursive is important our constitution is written in cursive.I know we live in a techie world.Learning cursive is also important to teach discipline. My niece in the 7th grade could not read her bday card.
The red $1.25 price tags are from inventory that they have from the Family Dollar stores that they closed.
Love your hair! Hi Loki! 😊 He’s so cute looking at the camera behind you. 😂
I agree with the price stickers that are showing up. It is almost like they are getting ready to add other prices and are trying to have items marked clearly for transparency.
That will make me very sad. I love the Dollar Tree for the prices always being the same throughout the store. I never have to worry about getting a price check.
The space buns are so cute girl!
I disliked printing. Don't understand why they don't teach cursive in school.
I’m a sixty’s child we learned cursive I hated it quit using it in 8th grade printed my whole life
No use for cursive kids don’t need it in school today
They need to learn to Read
I substitute High School and you can’t believe the kids who can’t read
I am with you on the eye shadow as eyeliner.
Temu has the cutest pillow covers for any holiday. I have some for every one.
Temu has everything you could want cheaper than a 1.25
I put up red, white & blue stuff for Memorial day & leave it up until 4th of July. My daughter doesn't know how to write or read in cursive. She'll be 17 in July. She can barely write her name. They didn't do cursive in school.
I think the red price tag might mean that it came from Family Dollar store because the family Dollar store has sort of like a red logo and both stores our own together.
✨🌄🌈love the hair! Give Loki a big hug from me! Great haul again! Tyfs!👍💖🤗
Your hair is darling! There is a study (I’d have to dig to find it) that learning to write cursive helps kids learn more-it has to do with the brain/hand coordination…. Anywho, it supports all other types of learning. I’m not sure why it was taken out of schools. Both of my sons learned to write cursive, and the oldest has beautiful handwriting.
I was at Target yesterday and saw they had erasers that look like balloon animals and I thought about you and your niece.😊
I am getting the Lemon Kit! I have every single one you put out. I love decorating my journals, makes me stick to writing in it every day. ♥
Omg I swear this is nuts I been doing my hair like this all week because it's so hot!! I deliver the mail so it's up and out of my face 🤣 😂 you look adorable ❤
The Ioni makeup collection is their Dollhouse collection. Love the packaging!!!
The price on the items are because there are now ( well in most or going to be) multi price items in DT now. I work at DT and there is going to be another priced item but will not go over $7. But most items will stay $1.25!! Just an FYI!
I was thinking other day that the new 125 price tag maybe the family dollar stuff that they are moving into the dollar trees?
My grandsons (ages 10, 15,16,18,20 and 24 were not taught cursive writing in school. Some of them can't even read something written in cursive. Now they're slowly bringing it back into curriculum (Michigan). I'm glad.i think everyone should at least know how whether they use it or not.
I just bought that same light yesterday. The top comes off of the white piece and requires 3 AA batteries. It is beautiful when lit!
I love this view when you film because your dining room is so pretty and relaxing! Another good haul. I kinda like that light-up jar.
Cursive used to be a right of passage. Only little kids printed--adults wrote in cursive. I love cursive, I think it's faster.
I love your quilt--i want one! I could make one. I wish you would have unfolded it and held it up!!
Great haul, ty 😊
Your space buns are so cute.
Can you do a video of all the dollar tree makeup finds all in the past you have collect? That would be nice to see whats have made in the past. TFS
We do it because it's a tradition plus it can be very pretty, if done properly. It's kinda like dressing up for special occasions. Sadly we don't see that a lot anymore either. When I was a little girl here in the South we dressed up to go downtown shopping and have lunch at the Magnolia Room at Rich's ( for those of you from Atlanta)😁 Those were very special times.
If you have a Family Dollar look there for your plug for your scent. It may be one of the essential oil plugs
All of those remind me of Barbie, like all the ways to play with Barbies🎉
I just went to dollar tree near me,they have 3,5 7 dollar plus items and a "special buy" fan for $20!😮
My boys just finished second grade and they were learning cursive at the end of school
The air fresheners look like bath and body dupes
Love the hair👩✈️
If you look on the package of the air fresheners, it tells you what they are compatible with. I looked at them in store
Great haul! I like the space buns 👍🏽 My son is going into High School- and cursive wasn’t a requirement in middle school.
The ONLY thing that is in cursive on my checks is my signature. The amount written out, I print. The date, too. (forgot about that) Arlene
The connection between the beach and cowgirls is the fashion esthetic coastal cowgirl
When writing in my journal my hand cramps up when I print so I just stick to cursive.
Your space buns rock! Thanks for your great haul video !
I print on all my checks ✔️
My daughter 17 and they didnt teach her how to write in cursive but she did have a teacher that did show them a tiny bit of how to do it thank god cause u still have to sign your name like when she opened a checking account if she wouldn't of how would she of known how to do certain things like sign a check when she gets paid. I think they should still be teaching them it however I do get that everything almost electronic now
Marie ,you could put crystals in the lighted jar. I hope I find those. Thanks for sharing. Peace & Love to you.
enjoyed your haul yes everyone should know how to read and write in cursive
I am thinking that Dollar Tree is getting their items from Family dollar since they are now one company in sense. That is why we see the plus section there.
Your signature is required on a check, your drivers license and many other important documents. Maybe it’s harder to forge?
Two of my grandchildren did not learn to write in cursive, the only problem with that is they can’t write their signature in cursive. They are both young adults 21 and 18.
Well to be fair my hubby's uncle's signature was a S with a huge swirl around it, his name was Steve LOL 😂 so they wouldn't have to learn much haha
Same with my only grandson who will be turning 22 shortly. In his third grade class, they skipped the cursive writing curriculum and that is so sad to me.
I bought the cursive alphabet cards at Dollar Tree, like teachers use in their classrooms over the whiteboards and began teaching him myself when he came to visit.
I wrote words and sentences in cursive so that he could learn to recognize words and read in cursive. Then I had him write short sentences back for me. They were usually only three words long, but at least he was able to do it!! He thought since he didn't have to learn at school he shouldn't have to spend the time learning it with me.
Public schools are becoming too wrapped up in teaching goals for state testing and performance rather than what they should be focusing on, the basics for a strong foundation in classroom subjects, not what is being thrown at them nowadays.
I found the Touchland hand sanitizer dupes! I bought what they had left!!!
Your hair looked cute today! My son is a 2nd grade teacher. I'm going to start looking for those cute erasers for his prize bin.
I’ve been trying to find them for my son’s girlfriend who teaches 4th grade. I’m medically retired from education and would have loved those and so much that DT carries now. So awesome that your son teaches!
I saw that dollar tree has an Ioni nail art bar display now, it had fake nails, polish, everything that has to do with nails. I saw a clip of a video.
Girl, girl, I was thinking the same thing when it comes to the curse of writing nowadays these children do not know how to sign their name in cursive, and it was a requirement when we went to school
Your hair is adorable and so is Loki! He's so stinkin cute!
You should do an 80's kit!!
I don't understand the names that they have on those makeups either but I love those erasers you got for your niece especially the one with the cute little monkey🐒🤟🤟
Great video, love your background, and I love your hair buns !
Yep.....They are increasing prices on many things. I saw a floor fan display in my Dollar Tree for 19.99. They have many items that are 3, 5, 7 dollars and some stuff in the medicine aisle as well.😢 Prices really going all over the place there now like Family Dollar....sad.
That's what I thought I was told it was be like family dollar or dollar general by a employee
@@Divinediamonddexteritywhich makes no sense bc they are closing some FDs down. Seems like a bad business model to me but what do I know.
My screen just flipped from your Sept. "inner child" video to you in space buns!!! 😂
LOVE YOU GIRL❤
No they don’t typically teach cursive anymore because technology has become the dominant use for communication.
I know I’m old (70) but to me cursive is elegant and adult way to express yourself. But, we also took pride in spelling things correctly. Now because everything is done on computers and you have spell check that doesn’t matter. My major pet peeve is now math is not the computation but a lesson on how to operate a calculator. We were talking yesterday (Fathers day) about how much cell phones have changed in size and what they will do. We compared all that to the first microwave we bought. We saved for a year because it cost $450.00 and was the size of a VW Beetle ( ok not quite but it was enormous much larger than an over the range one. About that width and about18”” high. Everything changes but some changes are not as beneficial as others
