Cannot beat Simutaneous Multi Frequency on salt wet beaches unless you have a PI machine as you know Atanas ;-) ATB

The salt water doesn't affect the detector at all. Other detectors are trying to discriminate it. But when you have the factor sea with mineralization they get overloaded and get noisy and unstable. So for me this is the best beach detector for the money :)

This is where the new Garrett Apex will score highly, it'll have the multi (single) frequencies & also the simultaneous multi - frequencies of the ML, all in an even lighter package than the Vanquish, add to that built in rechargeable Lithium ion battery & wireless, can't wait.

It will be interesting to see, thought the Minelab 340 is much cheaper than the Apex (235 EUR vs 500EUR) and is a perfect all-round detector.

@@ThraceMetalDetectors Absolutely agree but the Apex specification is way higher than the 340, it's above the 540 spec.

@@RegtonDetectors Yes. The Garrett has a ground balance option. Big advantage. Worth testing Apex against Vanquish. This will be probably the first thing to do :)
