Nice technique. When I was playing Tony Carroll came to training and taught us the importance of starting low and driving up into the tackle to take the momentum away.
I’m new to rugby and I was doing a tackling drill with the loose head prop of the team I kept winning the tackles and getting tackled and my coach said to him he strong isn’t he said to the loose head prop of the team that got me soo confident
This is a good drill but if you watch actual games, running back don’t give you that much body to tackle, there shoulder pads landing right on top of your
Gladly, you wrap them up and bring them down with you, bring their legs together so they cant take more strides causing their top half to go down, you dont lift them up and slam them down its not the WWE and if you think youre supposed to hurt them every tackle youre in the wrong sport.
All rugby players used that tackling technique, it's really effective and done safely also, secondly the person getting tackled is safe because their being put on their side which protects their neck, spine, head etc.
@@pthrelkeld090lol no bro. You need to win the contact. Meet at or beyond the advantage line and drive them back. This is the way to do it. Our game is not WWE this is rugby. You're way is too passive and allows the defence to make undesired metres on contact.

People hated running at Lockyer when Tunza was in the team
@@jest3167 that's facts. He hurt in his tackles.
Thank you so much for this I have more confidence now I guess driving up has better power aswell😊 thank you so much
No Worries. Happy to help!

Tackling
A baby😢
A teenager😅
A old person😮
Make sure to not look down at the grass because one move can kill you!!
Its the timing of the down up motion and how close you get thats important.
Last year James low came and taught us how to tackle good
You can plant feet if you’re using their momentum against them and tackling level 1 height
😮
That's true. But its a passive tackle with the opponent landing on their fronts creating a quick play the ball.
Perfect 👌🏾
Also make your you tightly wrap the legs so you can finish
I just dashed on the grass and grab thw legs whike sliding lol
I think you could put your feet more closer to his feet to have a more powerfull tackle
Hectic stuff

This is rugby M8, not American football
Gold park 😂
this is so useful even tho i dont play rugby and is just a dumb teengirl
Every time he went for the tackle I was waiting for him to compress his neck 6 inches
Planted feet first . Then drive 🙄🤦♂️
Make sure your also a little bit lower to
Were doe you stay
I don’t get it! At this point just play actual tackle football!
this is so good i make big hits now
You weren’t looking forward to
In an actual game u would fall over
Bit high innit
Thats how you hurt the opponent, not the goal.. i think this is a horrible example of a tackle in rugby
How can you tackle someone without hurting them please explain

No that's how you tackle properly, otherwise you'll hurt yourself

I dont see how plated feet is bad as its food for cover tackles but great hit mate
Were doe you stay
