Not rally useless, tbh. Serjeants have 75 hp in castle, chakrams deal 1 dmg to them and have +1 vs infantry. 10 Chakrams thus 4 hit a Serjeant and do the same dmg with their passthrough. With any kind of meatshield or option to retreat, they still are a menace. 20 Chakrams delete masses of Serjeants irrespective of their armour. Until you get there, serjeants are a menace to gurjaras ofc.
@AGoodLittleSub 2 damage per hit is a joke, also they recieve - 33% bonus damage, chakrams basically are doing 1.7 damage, I thought it was always 2 damage but it doesnt, u need almost 50 hits per damage, spread ur soldiers and u are ok
Well, Monks might not be a great option either... especially since Sicilians not only have the standard monastery tech to make them harder to convert, but their castle age unique tech adds another 25% conversion resistance, giving the Sicilians a 50% Conversion Resistance Boost... so even if monks might work within early castle age, if the opponent invested they can make that also not work as well.
@@cambac-pro Viper mentioned bloodlines in the end and I thought maybe against the skirms and as "fodder" to protect the monks since Gurjaras don't have knights as well as for counterattacks while you dig in and defend.
Gurjaras are trash VS infantry until they Get chakrams but the high armor from saerjants makes chakrams almost useless

Hear me out: elephant archers
@@rovsea-3761 I was thinking that, but only good at imperial age because skirms melts them
the counter is man-at-arms
double barracks and spam man-at-arms
Nah the counter is holding and going castle age monks and better pierce units. This is like getting teutonic knights in feudal pretty much
early castle monks is the only solution, late castle fisbee boys
So, what's the counter then? Light cav + monks?
monks sure, light cav absolutely not
