- Decided to check out the “infamous” Spooner Road Estate alone at night during the Hungry Ghost Festival, and got a very weird vibe while there. Enjoy!

*This vlog is made with the sole purpose of exploring the estate due to rumours of it being allegedly “haunted”. I did not come to Spooner Rd to do any sort of “ghost-hunting” specifically. I think the place is just run down due to its age. Carpark is full of vehicles and lotsa lights from the housing units. I think the silly background unit you used sound scarier than what the estate you filmed.
It’s gone that Silent Hill type of feel to the place. If I has R2-D2 with me, I will probably tell him, “Ive got a funny feeling about this place …like we’re being watched!”

Passed by this place always when on bus 143. I think although it's rundown, it's certainly much cleaner compared to even newer estates as there are no trash or bulky items thrown around. It's quiet and peaceful as well. And close to bus stops and can access city area easily.

Just a suggestion. You should be equipped with a K2 meter to detect any abnormal spikes in EMF which represents the presence of any possible paranormal entities.

Background music of this vid literally making it looks spooky other than that is only quieter with most residents staying inside their own house and bc each level has a long stretch of corridor make it even spooky esp in the night. If there’s really “ghost” think the police surveillance cameras around will capture 1 or 2, zoom in no use la😂🤣
The blk 1 front landed house is equip with cctv , check in daily by securities . Overall blk 1 is more active !.

It’s a misconception that this place is haunted. It’s NOT haunted & generally the same as elsewhere. Just people wanting to make videos hoping to catch a sighting or for adventure & post here. Tell you this story for those who don’t know…many Malay Malaysian Railroad workers stayed here before & they dabbled in black magic & bomoh activities. When they left, they abandoned the spirits who still wonder nearby for a sanctuary.
The place is haunted
SG has a lot of haunted places which even without a lot of people notice, I lived in other place before where often can hear something suddenly dropped on the floor and sound like marble rolling above my room, nobody would be so free to disturb others no matter day or night, sudden loud sounds can be shocking when in quiet times.
Looks more likely most rundown estate than haunted. Even the spirits don't want to haunt there.😂

Noice video but I used to stay there, there isn't any ghost at all. It's just noises from neighbours sometimes but it's usually peaceful and calm. Majority of the rentals this area are from a lower socioeconomic status thus needing monetary support from the government either because of their health issues or physical disabilities. But ghost are probably the last thing u would find there yea

When you think about it, the exploration itself probably wasn't scary as it was depicted in the video. Rather, it is the music that is intended to create the immersion and atmosphere for the viewers that creates a sense of dread and horror. Not saying Spooner Road isn't haunted, but based on the famous video from Supernatural Confessions featuring the late Raysan Ace, this place is far less ominous that the netizens give it credit for. What it does give off is a sense of dilipidation by Singaporean property standards, and a lack of life which creates a realm attractive enough for otherworldly beings to abide.
If I were to put myself in Tbone's shoes, the atmosphere that night would be as simple as a quiet night, with occasional noises or voices heard from the families living there. He might have felt a chill or rush of cold air while exploring the area, but it could have been the breeze coming from wind, or an actual brush with something else. At the very least, Tbone clearly mentioned he wasn't there for a ghost hunt, it was an exploration above all, and one that happened to be somewhat harrowing.

Tbh, I initially had chills because it was my first time exploring the estate and my only knowledge abt it comes from the supernatural rumours associated with it online, so I guess it’s kinda unsurprising to have this first impression. But I suppose if I were to explore the estate multiple times and become more familiar with it, then I would think the place is more normal and chill instead of eerie, albeit rundown (this is likely to be the cause of the ‘haunted’ rumours)
I do agree with you that my choice of music does intensifies the horror sensation, but it’s really to align with the alleged supernatural rumours online and reflect my first impression of the estate. Ultimately, at the end of the video, I concluded that while I did get weird vibes, it is probably not as eerie as perceived to be since many residents still live there.
But anyways, thanks again for the insights and I hoped you enjoyed the exploration video :)

Does this Spooner estate belong to Singapore government or Malaysian government? It is very run-down. Are the flats belonged to public or private? Anyone can apply to stay there? Even the letter boxes are the old types which we had in the 80s.
Our flats are also 50 years old but not as dilapidated as these flats at Spooner Road.

I actually went there a few years ago. The residential units were mostly occupied, and it seems like a normal hdb to me, so not as ‘spooky’ as spooner rd haha

I did visit the 4th level of block 1 to get a closer view of the abandoned railway building. As for the other side, probs not lol

The purpose of my channel is just to explore places and featuring what I've seen, like what I've done in this video, and not to do "daring things" as you've suggested. I have no intention of intruding the fenced building surrounded by security cameras, and don't see the point of getting into trouble with the law just for "cool" content. Supposedly if you want to detect ghost activity you can buy a K2 ghost meter to detect ghost activity though I don't care about ghosts and if I see one I tell it to fuck off and mind your own business.
