Really hoping a newer version of this comes out sometime soon, I wanna be able to search for my games without needing to put my favorites in their own folders!
What's this CFW and is it difficult to install (managed on the Anbernic 351P but without instruction I might be lost)? Is it the same (burn an image)? Also does this firmware include Pico-8?
I got the r362 for 45 dollars. An extra 15 bucks gets you n64, ds, psp, playstation, etc also joy sticks... Budget handhelds are so good nowadays id say its worth saving an extra 15 or 20 bucks for the r362
I agree. I would suggest getting an RG35XX as a welcome deal off aliexpress for around 40$ shipped. That's a really good deal, too. I haven't got my hands on the R36S yet, so I can't give my input, but I absolutely agree with you that budget handhelds are getting really good.
There is a new version of the Miyoo CFW out. I haven't had a chance to try it yet. There are lots of new features, including TV out from the 3.5mm jack to RCA. I went a bit crazy at the last Ali Express sale. My R36S came yesterday and my M17 will be here today. Both need CFW and some work. I'll try to come back. Might be a good one for you to try. There aren't a lot of videos. You might get some views.Edit - I think that they fixed the shutdown nonsense too.
I got the powkiddy sticker and not 64bit sticker instead. Btw since you said you're a fan of gba games, I recommend mega man battle network. It's different from normal mega man games, basically both you and the enemy have a 3x3 tile each and you fight the enemies using different chips. It's very very fun. Hopefully you will try it if you have the time.
Thanks for the recommendation. I remember vaguely playing one in my childhood. The series is on my backlog of games I need to play. These days its a little hard with work and kids but I will definitely get around to it one of these days.
I had this console (red/orange) for several months. And I must admit that the main advantages are the size, screen, battery and charging method. I finally sold it because the D-pad started to break (there was a strange click on the right side), I liked the design so much that I bought the original GBA SP, with a changed casing, a new IPS screen (really good, much better than the one from v90), and a special battery . The big advantage of v90 is that you didn't have to worry that something would happen to it (I paid about $20 for it, I paid $230 for gba sp), so something for something. As long as the keys don't break, v90 is really ok. PS.And the keys started squeaking after a few days (but they worked), but the workmanship was mediocre. PS.2. And if I forgot the R2 and L2 keys, the dummies don't work, people also mention it, although it's not the biggest problem, because PS1 games simply don't work well.
This is why I wanted to spend more time with it to see how it holds up. This being a cheaper device, one of the biggest things I worry about before recommending this is its durability and how it will be maybe a few months later. Thank you for sharing your experience though. Its good to hear from different people so we can get a better idea of it what people can expect. I will eventually get around to getting a modded gba as well its just so expensive lol.
Well, I was supposed to choose a regular modded GBA at first, but I waited with my order (paid) for almost 3 months, and I was fed up with waiting, I finally ordered GBA SP from someone else, inside and outside the console looks like new. But I'm afraid to leave the house with her now. :D I play in bed or on a chair.@@JaviPlayRetro
I agree. The Power Down Sequence - looks super annoying, & iffy Probably one of the main reasons I may have to pass on this one, & wait for a Model, that gets it right
Yeah, it's a big flaw. But we also have been spoiled by how good retro handheld software has gotten. This is how it used to be. But Im glad this helped you know if it's not for you.
On miyoo custom firmware you can shut it down from everywhere including during gameplay with menu+select. But I still had lots of problems with the power button, because it is way to easy to accidentally push in your pocket. I sanded it with a little bit of sandpaper, but still it sometimes has empty battery or corrupt card or both. Annoying. But the concept is great, I would love anbernic or miyoo made a sp clone
I've tried this and sometimes it just seems to suspend it. Idkno if I was doing something wrong. So I just starting doing it the hard way lol. I actually really like the idea of the switch because its old school. It just the execution here is kinda bad. I luckily havent had sd card corruption but Im sure thats super annoying.
I think youre right. What i meant is like its not really capable of playing any games above like 16bit. Its starts to struggle at Snes which is 16bit and we can forget 32bit with playstation.
seriously ds in powkiddy v90? if thats the case that would be nice i know its underpower for ds but some games like 2d in the ds could run a game just fine
I have a Powkiddy Q90 and RGB30, the d-pad on the Q90 is waaaay better than the one on the RGB30. Fun video, thank you!
the 64 bits is because the linux that runs the emulators is 64 bits
