Stella standing up for Ikki was probably one of the best moments between true friends and lovers in general. Being an A-Rank Blazer, she understands how hard Ikki worked to get where he is now. He was born with no talent and yet is proving to be so much more than what people think of him, The Worst One. Stella understands this very fact and has decided to tell him how much it hurt her to see him almost giving up. Stella deserves the 'Best Female Protagonist' Award.

What is so amazing about his panic: Ikki hasn't done anything yet. He just blocked two shots. And yet Kirihara is absolutely terrified. Not only because his little hiding game stopped working, but because he is legit terrified about even the prospect of having to fight someone 1on1. If I recall correctly, they even mentioned beforehand that if he would have to fight "someone like Stella" he would have resigned immediately. That's how much of a coward he is

I love how they portray Stella's feelings for Ikki here. She's not just another "main girl" who loves the MC just because he's a badass and said a few nice words to her. She respects and admires him because she sees a kindred spirit, a person trying to prove that they are more than what the world sees them as: Ikki as the talentless "Worst One" with barely any magic ability and Stella as the royal princess who was born with her great strength and power. They both know how much the other truly worked to become better and that's why they click so well. Honestly it's probably one of my favorite pairings ever, which is surprising coming from what many consider to be a generic, clichè anime. Btw, Stella's outcry was 10/10.
Hell yea dude, the ecchi in this was hella good as well. Not just some random garbage, but had actual feelings and care in it. For sure one of my fav pairs. I also liked the 2 in No game no life zero

I think my favorite part from this scene is where they acknowledge how terrible Ikki must be. In the beginning of this match, he’s relying solely on instinct, his vision, and a plan he came up with hours before the match. He’s not doing any real immediate thinking that he hasn’t already pondered over. When Stella realizes how blind she’s been, he’s really eye opening for the viewer too. There’s not a single universe in where he isn’t straight up terrified. He’s worked so hard to even just get this chance, and he still hid his fears so well. I honestly didn’t even think of his feelings in this way. So, thanks Alice!

doesn't really matter what Fate has. Kirihara is strictly an archer, and more importantly a teenager who fights in a way that keeps him from getting hurt. It's only natural he doesn't want to feel pain especially with a sword of all things.
You know you're a badass when you're lowest ranked in the school and you defeat much stronger opponent without even landing a single blow, just by making him pass out from fear. Ikki basically made his opponent pee his pants.
I love how a someone has just been shot multiple times to where they're just bleeding to death on the floor, and everyone just laughs, it's almost like real life.

This reminds me why I love this anime; because the author always makes up the acceptable reasons for any character's actions. In other anime, MC will just stand there and watch villains unleashing their special moves for no fucking reason but, here, it's properly explained why Ikki couldn't move (and it makes sense). Also, I love how Stella confessed to Ikki in his first official battle and then Ikki proposed to her in his final battle. Author really thought this out quite well.

Asterisk War (the infinitely inferior version) was generic enough that the majority of the mainstream audience took the bait, and since Rakudai was the same concept, people shrugged it off thinking it was a cheap knockoff. That's why Assterisk War (yes, my typo is intentional to show my hate for it) has 3 seasons and Rakudai only has 1.

KaMo I don’t hate dubs overall. Several dubs I consider to have far surpassed the original Japanese voice acting. But I WILL NEVER FORGIVE THIS ANIME’S DUB FOR ABSOLUTELY BUTCHERING EVERY EMOTIONAL SCENE DUE TO THEIR LACK OF SHITS GIVEN TO ONE THE BEST ACTION ROMANCE ANIME EVER! Which is a slight shame, since some of the humor switch ups from the transition from Japanese to English are a lot more punctual and funny, but this episode in the dub is an actual sin against the greatest of humanity in comparison to this glorious masterpiece. Adolf Hitler may have started the most destructive war in history and committed the most infamous and extreme genocide in history, but at least he didn’t participate in the making of the Chivalry of a Failed Knight Episode 4 dub, so he gets a pass in my book. Oh, and Ikki’s Ittou Shura scream is awful due to them casting a monotone VA that was another of the reasons I curse that awful dub and refuse to finish it. I’ve watched the subbed version 10 times though.

Weigh you're options, make you're choice, and fight like the day is you're last because you're opponent will surely do the same. In the end our decisions, our actions, boast one thing about us. How badly do you want to live? How hard will you fight to maintain you're presence in this world? What will you sacrifice to keep you're life? The game of Life is a simple one. Live or die. Make you're choice.

Amanta Kofa When you surpass you limits so hard you can literally see something that no one has right knowing the general location of from the emotions in the guy’s voice and the places you’ve been shot, and are literally siphoning all of your energy for 12 hours into one minute, then the virgin rock definitely loses to the chad scissors.
Here is an interesting thought. Ikk was able to calculate the timing, and point of impact from a panicked Kirihara who was firing in rapid succession with invisible projectiles. That is not predicting your enemy's movements that is reading the future.
Basically, he knows how he thinks and how he fights psychologically like figuring out a pattern or an algorithm of a human's mind that he could use to anticipate their next course of actions and how they would react at certain situations.
When Ikki said he missed a milimeter it means that he should have miss the slash and just to scare the dude, but it actually missed 1 milimeter and hit the guy's nose. Ikki is the kind of person who would not hurt even his enemy ... well ... unless you are trying to strip one of his harem girl then you might lost an arm or two xD

First anime I seen were the protogonist really has a limit, and work his hard to improve himself despite this. Plus the girl sees him as a person with the same determination as her. Both are opposites. Yet they want to improve themselves beyond their limits.
Late reply, but not quite I think. Despite their backgrounds being opposites, they're much more alike in their spirits and the struggles they endured. One has so much power and talent, while the other had none of it. Yet they both worked so hard to be recognized as being their own individuals, and not because of how much talent or magical power they have.

Sword skills alone without other powers in my own views, Ikki definitely top class even if we compare it to other animes. The dude cannot just copy a sword style but literally steal the identity of the enemy. This battle was lacking in description as it only stayed that he was able to grasp the personality of his enemy. The LN was more descriptive about it as the commentator stated that he can't see the hunter but he knows where he is because he was able to "steal" the Hunter's identity and make it as his own (that includes his thought process, emotions etc.) as he can't steal the Hunter's weapon style (because it's a bow and he's invisible).. Imagine if an all anime multiverse existed and this guy grasps Zorro's Sword style or even the characters at samurai shamploo or The MC of shinmai maou no testament.. one of the best Swordsman out there and he's not even getting the proper hype and recognition he deserves just because the anime lost to its carbon copy of asterisk war characters.. i guess people love harem in the past few yeads rather than a loyal dude who sees his own lover as a rival too .
The moment when Ikki made that trash talkin' douchebag of Kirihara cry like a scaredy little girl with his combination of Perfect Visión and Ittou Shura was very priceless. The other students not only got shocked with Ikki's Sword Techniques, but also might get scared of him.

doesn't really matter what Fate has. Kirihara is strictly an archer, and more importantly a teenager who fights in a way that keeps him from getting hurt. It's only natural he doesn't want to feel pain especially with a sword of all things.
You know you're a badass when you're lowest ranked in the school and you defeat much stronger opponent without even landing a single blow, just by making him pass out from fear.

I love how a someone has just been shot multiple times to where they're just bleeding to death on the floor, and everyone just laughs, it's almost like real life.

This fight was so good I never realized until now, how weird it is that even after an outcry like this people were STILL suprised when it became known that Ikki and Stella dated...
This reminds me why I love this anime; because the author always makes up the acceptable reasons for any character's actions. In other anime, MC will just stand there and watch villains unleashing their special moves for no fucking reason but, here, it's properly explained why Ikki couldn't move (and it makes sense).
Also, I love how Stella confessed to Ikki in his first official battle and then Ikki proposed to her in his final battle. Author really thought this out quite well.

I dont understand why they didnt continue the anime, the animation was perfect, the story really well written, the characters likeable, i fell in love with this anime the first time i saw it, praying it gets a season 2 some day
Asterisk War (the infinitely inferior version) was generic enough that the majority of the mainstream audience took the bait, and since Rakudai was the same concept, people shrugged it off thinking it was a cheap knockoff. That's why Assterisk War (yes, my typo is intentional to show my hate for it) has 3 seasons and Rakudai only has 1.

Rather than the animation of the fights, I'm even more impressed by the voice acting in this anime, Stella was especially superb in this part, truly incredible

I don’t hate dubs overall. Several dubs I consider to have far surpassed the original Japanese voice acting. But I WILL NEVER FORGIVE THIS ANIME’S DUB FOR ABSOLUTELY BUTCHERING EVERY EMOTIONAL SCENE DUE TO THEIR LACK OF SHITS GIVEN TO ONE THE BEST ACTION ROMANCE ANIME EVER! Which is a slight shame, since some of the humor switch ups from the transition from Japanese to English are a lot more punctual and funny, but this episode in the dub is an actual sin against the greatest of humanity in comparison to this glorious masterpiece. Adolf Hitler may have started the most destructive war in history and committed the most infamous and extreme genocide in history, but at least he didn’t participate in the making of the Chivalry of a Failed Knight Episode 4 dub, so he gets a pass in my book. Oh, and Ikki’s Ittou Shura scream is awful due to them casting a monotone VA that was another of the reasons I curse that awful dub and refuse to finish it. I’ve watched the subbed version 10 times though.

When you surpass you limits so hard you can literally see something that no one has right knowing the general location of from the emotions in the guy’s voice and the places you’ve been shot, and are literally siphoning all of your energy for 12 hours into one minute, then the virgin rock definitely loses to the chad scissors.

Here is an interesting thought. Ikk was able to calculate the timing, and point of impact from a panicked Kirihara who was firing in rapid succession with invisible projectiles.
That is not predicting your enemy's movements that is reading the future.
Basically, he knows how he thinks and how he fights psychologically like figuring out a pattern or an algorithm of a human's mind that he could use to anticipate their next course of actions and how they would react at certain situations.

This anime was so generic for the time but everything they did to differentiate it slightly was great. Definitely big nostalgia for me when I was binging tons of anime back in 2015

Plus the girl sees him as a person with the same determination as her.
Both are opposites. Yet they want to improve themselves beyond their limits.
Late reply, but not quite I think. Despite their backgrounds being opposites, they're much more alike in their spirits and the struggles they endured. One has so much power and talent, while the other had none of it. Yet they both worked so hard to be recognized as being their own individuals, and not because of how much talent or magical power they have.

Sword skills alone without other powers in my own views, Ikki definitely top class even if we compare it to other animes.
The dude cannot just copy a sword style but literally steal the identity of the enemy. This battle was lacking in description as it only stayed that he was able to grasp the personality of his enemy. The LN was more descriptive about it as the commentator stated that he can't see the hunter but he knows where he is because he was able to "steal" the Hunter's identity and make it as his own (that includes his thought process, emotions etc.) as he can't steal the Hunter's weapon style (because it's a bow and he's invisible)..
Imagine if an all anime multiverse existed and this guy grasps Zorro's Sword style or even the characters at samurai shamploo or The MC of shinmai maou no testament.. one of the best Swordsman out there and he's not even getting the proper hype and recognition he deserves just because the anime lost to its carbon copy of asterisk war characters.. i guess people love harem in the past few yeads rather than a loyal dude who sees his own lover as a rival too .
