My god, where was I all these years. I listened to Kiran's collab with Tinariwen initially and was a fan of "Mast Kalandar". Just stumbled upon her YT handle and got myself mesmerized with her art.
Check out the Touareg blues sound, Tinariwen and Mdou Moctar. She does a song with Tinariwen. More rhythmic emphasis than our sensibilities express with our instruments.
I honestly understand non from any spoken Indian language , but Listened to a the song "saat" oh my lord..in a moment I felt like me.and da song became one thing..love u Kiran
I remember hearing this song years ago in finnish radio, never forgotten it. There's a lot of joy and good memories in it, thank you Kiran and greeting from Lapland ❤️
MERCI pour cette soirée inoubliable passée avec un groupe musical au Parc de l'Imaginaire à Aylmer. I loved all the musicals lines that was brought from each member. Nice musical, strong craftwork gang!
Just saw you guys tonight at UMass! Excellent show, love the range in styles. You all have incredible musical abilities! Rez's guitar playing, in particular, was really interesting. His style paired really well with the rest of the music in a unique way I've never really encountered before. Thank you for paying us a visit!
We Loved You in Flushing tonite. WoW! Absolutely fantastic. Kiran and band are special and shouldn't be missed. What an Inspiration, i think i'll be smiling for days
I wish I could attend the CD release party (mentioned above in your notes, KIran), but equally as joyful is listening to this recording or any of the other magnificent recordings you've given us. I intend to purchase this tonight, anytime I want to clean up my head, your music does this---and so gracefully and beautifully. I've seen you perform at the Royal Alberta Museum (Edmonton), and very much hope to hear you in person again before long!
Esos primeros suspiros, esa primera historia, vida o vida.
You can find lyric and translations on my website www.KiranMusic.com on the tab - Music. The lyrics for this song are also here.... Life drifts in its own shadow. Dragging along lounging sighs, life o life. Those who speak my tongue are unevenly scattered. Still, I collect conversations. I may run into someone. I’ve been your refugee, life o life. It’s wasting away, chasing ideas of love, my friend. Those first sighs, that first story, life o life.
beeti hi jaae, apne hi saae mei, hayat. keeps passing away, from within its own shadow, life... continue de passer, dans sa ombre propre, la vie very difficult to translate !

I heard the Radiolab episode Translations rebroadcast during a 2021 New Years Day marathon. I heard her rendition of 3 blind mice in Hindi and sobbed - don't know why. Actually a German version not used was sadder. www.wnycstudios.org/podcasts/radiolab/articles/musical-translations
She created her sound by infusing African desert blues into her music however, there are no Africans in her videos. More cultural appropriation. In time, they will claim the music is indigenous to them. . . . smh.
Pardon my ignorance, appreciate if you could direct me to some reference points to compare, cause I hear riffs using an electrical guitar with chords that are used in a lot of music rather than African blues and also I hear Indian drum beats and instruments. Thank you :)
This is what you get when infuse Hindi music & African desert blues!! THIS IS VERY BEAUTIFUL!!
Always ready to catch that
.... your gopi 4 evaaa

Love Kiran's music and mystical lyrics. Joyful performer if you ever get the chance to hear her and her band.
don't have a clue, but love the sound. for a 64 year old southerner my taste is very eclectic.

I love clips where the people appear. I don't even need to understand the lyrics to understand everything with every smile
One love from Sao Paulo, Brazil! Hope to see you playing in a concert one day

song is good ...but could have been ver much better..if u would have chosen a better choreographer.....
She created her sound by infusing African desert blues into her music however, there are no Africans in her videos. More cultural appropriation. In time, they will claim the music is indigenous to them. . . . smh.
see Mustt Mustt, which she filed with the Tuareg band Tinariwen...
why bother? Since when music has frontier?
that's how all music works..
Pardon my ignorance, appreciate if you could direct me to some reference points to compare, cause I hear riffs using an electrical guitar with chords that are used in a lot of music rather than African blues and also I hear Indian drum beats and instruments. Thank you :)
Kiran always mentions her influences, even though the actual music is colorless.
Delerium was better
