  • This is a video showing how to replace the 2015 Honda Pilot EX-L trim level fog lights (well, my way of replacing them). Other videos show simple Pilot fog light replacement, but those have a panel that can be pulled off the front bumper. This model requires accessing the fog lights from the rear. Apologies for the iphone videography and dirty car.

    THANK YOU. Been searching and sorting through so many incorrect videos to figure out how to do this because these years are completely. You should adjust your video title to include 2012-2015 models because you cant find this video anywhere and this was perfect.

    Thanks for this video. My driver's side foglight shattered, just like yours. I tried using a stubby screwdriver, but I still couldn't get enough purchase on the screws. I ended up buying a ratcheting offset screwdriver at the hardware store, and it saved the day! Thanks for helping me save some money that I would have otherwise forked over to my independent mechanic (the jacks stands I bought have already paid for themselves!).

    Your like the only one that shows how to remove the fog lights on the upper level trims. EX-L and Touring. I guess having the upper trim has it “privileges”. 😅

      Ya, I struggled with this and found nothing online. No one showed the "magic" of getting this done, so I figured I better. There was no way I was the only one smashing my head on a wall over this. LOL.

    Thank you for this video. I changed out the fog light bulb on the drivers side a week ago from halogen to LED and this was super helpful. Toughest part for me was putting the bumper back together with the clips. Overall saved time and $$$$ by not having to go to the dealership.

      LEDs go bad just as fast a halogen.

    Thanks for this. I was able to do this job without removing the wheel, but I had to crank the wheel one way to reach one of the light housing screws, then crank it the other way, switch hands and contort to reach the other. Took me about 45 mins total. Might have been easier if I removed the wheel, but I'm lazy & stubborn enough to try. 🍺😁👍

      Jeff Gainsborough good info. I had to remove the whole assembly and couldn’t contort enough to get in there with the wheel on. You have ninja skills. LOL

    Thank you for this. Exactly what I needed. Also helped me mentally prepare for what I had ahead of me. Lol.

    Thanks for the video! I have to remove both so that I could swap them to the other side. The passenger side one got hit with something and the impact broke one of the mounting tabs, but not the lens! So instead of buying a new one, I swapped them, because each light has 4 mounting tabs and use only 2 screws diagonally to hold them in place and use the opposite ones on the other side. So it made it possible to just switch them and not buy a new assembly. I also wanted to switch the bulbs to led. I will try putting the truck on ramps and turning the wheel side to side to get access to the screws!

      I think using ramps and turning the wheels to the side might have made life easier for me. But wheel removal was definitely a benefit in the end and I would have done that regardless. Good luck. Let us know how it goes! And don't forget some back-up jackstands and tire blocks for safety! :)

    I was able to purchase just the new Glass Lens wondering if I can replace it from the outside or do I need to remove the whole assembly to replace it

    Thanks for the video…. I hit a deer today in my 2013 pilot exl. It pushes the entire fog light assembly back. I saw a plastic clip sitting on the ground, and am wondering if the fog light housing mounts to a bracket or directly to bumper. The housing for light is crushed, and it broke out of whatever it screws in to. Was wondering if bracket can be replaced along with fog light housing, or if the entire bumper needs replaced. Not sure what light gets attached to. Any idea?

    Do you remember the part number for the replacement assembly? I see so many options

      I’m sorry, Juan. I do not recall. However, I can tell you that I paid 40% less than an autoparts store and 50% less than a dealer. I went to an autobody supplier in town who sells to the various retail shops. They supply paint to autobody companies, trim to repair companies, etc. They were literally half the price.

    Thanks! So I can't just replace the bulb inside the housing?

    • @beebee7999
      @beebee7999  4 роки тому +3

      Tom Fairbanks you may be able to turn the bulb from the back and retract. TBH, I am not sure. I had to replace the assembly due to broken glass...funny part is that while both lights were smashed, both lights still worked. LOL
      Regardless, if you have this same assembly, you have to get into this back area. It is a pain in the arse. good luck, sir!

    • @dangermouse720
      @dangermouse720 4 роки тому +1

      You can replace the bulb inside the housing. It's an H11 bulb. Find where the wire harness terminates on the back of the housing and turn counter clockwise, pulls right out. I was able to do it with out removing the tire, but had to crank the wheel to make room.

      Well Honda like most manufacturers want you to bring it in instead of doing the work yourself.

    There is an easier way to do this. You might need another person but you dont need to take the wheel off or take the fog light out at all.

      I definitely didn't have another person, but do share! Thx!
