Are you trying to show how clever you are or trying to impart knowledge. If it is the latter then please slow down, and hover over menu items long enough for newbies to take on board what you are teaching. Thanks
There is a Batch options for GIMP that can apply some effects, auto levels I believe is one of them. I can't remember if this option is built into GIMP, or a plugin. To do it in the shell, imagemagick would probably be the best option. The exact command, I don't know off hand.
Hi Kris, Greetings from Bali-Indonesia. I just start to restore old photos of my family and friends. This is way cool method, save time. Thanks a lot. God bless
What release of GIMP is this? What you're showing looks a lot like what I was looking for (and what I'm used to in Photoshop) but I've loaded Gimp 2.1 and Colors Levels gets me something very different.
I love a good video that's short and to the point!!! Thank you!

Is there a command line option in GIMP to accomplish this on multiple images, so you can restore a video?

Right click: colors/levels then under All Channels click Auto Input Levels.
i do not get that auto option in my version of gimp
This is a time saver. I used to have to do it by hand with older software.
Thanks, man. I was playing around with colors/auto, but this gives way better results.
Thank you very much, this was very helpfull video.
Color-auto-white balance does the same.
This saved me a lot of time fiddling around with settings in a program I don't know. Thank you.
