David has said in an interview that he wrote the music to this ages ago but it sat in his piano bench for years until he decided to pull it out for this project. He originally wrote it for one voice but asked Charlotte if she’d sing it with him so he then rewrote it as a duet. Aren’t we all lucky he pulled it out of his piano bench? ❤️ Thanks Lyle for reacting to it.
Lyle, I liked what you said about re-arrangement of classics. To date, David Phelps is the ONLY artist who gets that pass from me! I am a purist and love the traditional renditions, but this guy turns it all upside down and catterwonky and out comes a BEAUTIFUL piece of music!!! Thanks for spotlighting him in your reaction videos~~he's WORTH the listen!!!!
I believe I heard David comment, at one point, that he wanted to focus on the worship aspect of this song, which he certainly did by proclaiming "Fall on your knees" over and over again. It makes you want to do just that. Thanks for reacting to this one.
I seen DAVID Phelps with the Gaithers in concert. They were Phenomenal. They had a second tenor so DAVID would not over work his voice. That is so wonderful that you listen to him weekly❤️❤️💯💯
Has anyone mentioned that "Fall on Your Knees" was nominated for a Dove Award? That's like a Grammy award in Gospel music. It was although it didn't win. It is still a winner in my book. David and Charlotte always sound so good together. Beautiful song. Kudos to Alida the violinist and Greg the drummer. They were on top of their game too. Thank you Lyle for another great reaction!
I am loving these reactions, and I would like to request one. If you search green chandelier I love the lord, you will see an amazing live performance that is unlike anything I've ever seen before. It's just David on the piano singing "I Love the Lord." I believe he's in his house, completely informal, no backup, but the performance is unbelievable. Please check it out. You won't regret it!
I loved the drive of the drum underneath. It almost has a Celtic flavor to it. Beautiful voices and a beautiful song. Yep, here in middle America we still hand out phone books few people use any more. One gets chucked onto my front porch every spring. Thanks for the reaction. Stay safe, dear Aussie Scot!
Loved it Lyle! One of my favorites I can listen to this ANY time of the year. Thank you for this! Please add “These Are They” live from Sydney Opera House to your list of upcoming reactions. I find great comfort in it.
I love this song and listen to it all the time. And I am 150% down with a weekly David Phelps reaction from you! Your video's are great and David is just amazing.
Love the song, love your reaction. I miss hearing Charlotte singing with David because they always sounded so good together. Thank you for doing this beautiful music. Suggestions for future.... Gentle Savior and one that's a little more "rousy" My Child Is Coming Home. They're older ones when David was a little younger.
Absolutely LOVE that you keep reacting to David! I have heard SO much new music from him that I never heard before...all because of you! And I’ve known and listened to him off and on for the better part of 30 years.
Charlotte and her husband Greg, the drummer, stayed with David after he went solo for as long as they were able. They are still touring with the GVB and between David's solo concerts and the GVB concerts it got to be too much for them. They had to make a choice so they stayed with the GVB. David had his girls to sing backup so he just had to find a new drummer which he did. I certainly miss Charlotte though. She has a beautiful voice.
What amazes me is just about everyone that does these Reaction Videos starts with David's "Oh Holy Night " that he performed on a Gaither Homecoming Video back in 1999 I believe. I remember the Christmas Video thr year before when a very very talented tenor did the song so beautifully. But then the following year they brought out David Phelps to sing it and the rest it history. More than 20 years later it is maybe the most Reacted to Video there is. Hard to believe there are people who are still hearing him for the first time and are completely blown away by it.
One of the things I love so much about this song is that David, with his powerful voice, does NOT over power Charlotte! He has such awesome control.. MAN, I LOVE THIS MAN!!
David wrote this... it’s beautiful!!!

Charlotte Ritchie has the voice of an angel. Davis Phelps is a genius -- full stop.

David Phelps did an excellent job with this one loved it ❤️
You need to hear her rendition of revelation song.
Totally love her singing that.
This is the version I'd recommend with David singing back--up at the Freedom concert! Top Notch! ua-cam.com/video/WGklmBUy_p8/v-deo.html
You’ve gotta do We Are the Reason from the same concert. Best song on the album. A David Phelps classic for sure.
I love the once a week...Gentle Savior next?
Thank you for doing this one! Take care

I have loved this!
Have this album. Like listening to it before sleep. Yes, get phone books but Oklahoma wind shreds before getting into the house.
Thank you! Stunning!
So talented, great song.

Awesome!
lololol!!!!! david could sing the phone book!!!! of course it's true but ROFL!
You should react to him singing total praise with cana's voice. You won't regret for sure.
This is a great song. They sound great together. I dont know why she isn't with the back up singers (his daughters) any more.

@@whirlybird5244 thank you for that info.
I can see both of Davids daughters doing background vocals.
❤️❤️❤️
Check out Charlotte singing Consider the Lillies
Fun fact: David loves the violin, so he tries to write & sing as many songs as he can incorporate the violin into.
Ever hear “the end of the beginning” .

I did this one because it was suggested by someone.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
Love this song! I thought they complimented each others voices in this duet. Really like the choir as well. Thank you for doing this song.
Just exquisite!!
What a great new presentation of this sacred moment!! Great Reaction!!
Need to check out Charlotte Ritchie "Revelation Song"
This version with David singing back-up at the Freedom DVD taping - ua-cam.com/video/WGklmBUy_p8/v-deo.html
Lyle , Gaither Vocal Band I Pledge My Allegiance, same 9/11 event where they sang Let Freedom Ring, both great songs.
Loved this! Thank you for all the great songs by David.
One of the things I love so much about this song is that David, with his powerful voice, does NOT over power Charlotte! He has such awesome control.. MAN, I LOVE THIS MAN!!
David writes a lot of his songs he sings solo (w/o Gaithers). Such a God given talent!
Just love the songs he has written and arranged ♥️
Charlotte is great and has been for a long time as well...
Beautiful, just beautiful!
