Out of all the instructional videos that I watched, this is by far the best one. Is presented so a third grader can fix it and that’s exactly what I needed. Ha ha.
Thank you for this awesome video... I ordered a $35 contol panel from Amazon for my wife's GLC 300 2019 and it took me 3 minutes to replace it. You have saved me $600 the dealership fee.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video!! Amazon sent the part with the pry tool included! The quote Mercedes Benz of Tampa gave me was $689.05 just for the part!! I did the whole thing myself in 10 minutes for $42 and it works. I didn’t have to remove the silver rim (bezel) from around the switch!
My man!!!! Thank you, I was able to replace my daughters window buttons in about ten minutes following your instructions!! Very easy!! Appreciate you!!
Thank you so much for posting this video. My window button broke last week while on vacation. I took it to the local dealer yesterday and they quoted me a total price of $577 to fix this problem. I was so annoyed. I told the service advisor that I could do it myself because I watch UA-cam videos. He said, “go ahead and try but come back and we will reset the windows if needed, but we will still have to charge you the price for labor to reset the window.” The switch itself cost $232., the labor $345. I immediately ordered the part and tools on Amazon, and I watched your video over and over. I just got the parts and installed it exactly as you did. It works and I don’t have to reset the windows. I would’ve reset them myself anyways. I hate that Mercedes Benz charges for such an important safety component of the vehicle. If this happens so often, it should be an automatic free change, as if it were recalled. I don’t understand how this is not changed for free or at least at a reasonable cost. Thanks again 😊
This is a very useful video. Thank you so much for that. I got the switch for a c200 and prying tools from Amazon, and in ~10 minutes, it's done. It was very satisfying. Getting the switch and the prying tools for the C200 in India wasn't easy. It took time to arrive; however, the switch is very good. The prying tools weren't as effective after the first replacement. They almost failed me when I tried to use them again for the passenger side door's single switch.
Thanks for sharing this! Was able to replace the window switch unit on my 2018 GLC 300 in less than 15 min. It’s really ,really easy to perform this swap out. I am a Mercedes fanboy since my father’s 1971 200D /8, and have never seen any Mercedes part being as poorly designed as this unit. It’s a shame they do not replace this for free. My second car is now an Audi. Choose not to go for Mercedes this time. Between this and the ripped leather seat in a less than 6 year old car with little mileage, it’s just not justifiable to pay so much for what used to be a great quilt brand.
Thanks for watching! I agree with you on the quality. Ever since MB Merged with Chrysler the quality has not been the same. Even though Daimler and Chrysler are no longer one (since 2007) MB hasn't been the same after going though those changes.
Thanks so much K&D. I just replaced the Window Module on my 2016 Merc C220D. One of the switches broke off and both switches for the back windows did not work. I followed your Instructions exactly and Presto - all replaced and Works Perfectly. Keep up the good work. Thanks again.
Thank you so much!!! Watched your video like 20 times... bought a switch off ebay for my C43 and an interior pry tool kit on Amazon and fixed it in 15 minutes! I didn't remove the silver bezel which saved me some time. You saved me hundreds of dollars (Mercedes dealership charges C$200/hr for labor these days). Didn't have to reset the window and auto up/down functions worked right away.
I'm glad it helped! Thank you for watching! The dealers charge way too much for everything. I also have links in the description to the switches I use as well as the interior pry tool kit.
This video was amazing and thank you so much for sharing this!!!! I was able to replace it easily by just watching and pausing the video for each step!! Saved sooo much money all because of you!❤
Thank you 🙏🏾; your video is very helpful and I greatly appreciate you for sharing this. Saved me $530 for something I fixed myself in less than 10 minutes and total cost of $23
This hw to video is a true lifesaver!! I just purchased my MB C300 and the driver/passenger switch broke immediately no more than 15mins after driving the vehicle of the lot. Thank goodness my dealership had no issues sourcing the part at no cost to myself. I had called MB to see about purchasing and they quoted me close to $400, NOT including labor 😱😱🤬🤬 Absolutely ridiculous!!!!! I knew it wasn't difficult to do and am looking forward to doing this myself..
thank you so much!! my rear window lock had been stuck for months and now it works fine!! no more having to manually roll the windows down from the driver side!
Great video. All done in less than 5mins. Didn't need the tools because my trim is black and didn't care about scratches. Table knife was all i needed.
Great VIdeo, super quick and easy. My window switch was broken during a car detail. Bought the new switch and came across this awesome video. Thank you so much for posting!!!! Happy Holidays!
Thank you for this video. It was easy to follow and I was able to do it myself. 👍🏽 saved me $480 by not going to the dealership.the part was an original MBZ for $182.
Both switches for raising the rear windows on my C class broke (the car is 4 years old and has traveled 50k km / 31k miles), the authorized service gave me an offer for €230... I bought the original part for €53 and following yours video changed it in 3 minutes. Thank you - Authorized Mercedes service THIEVES
Good video, I did more or less he same early this year on my 2015 s class, Mercedes wanted approaching £300 for a new switch pack, I found one on ebay for about £24 including carriage, fitted easily and worked perfectly. I figures even if it only last a couple of years that I could just get another and still save a huge amount of money !
thank you so much for sharing the video this helps alot the other videos they dont show how to remove just showing how the result ends.. thank you god bless you~!!
Thank you so much for the video .My question is if we can change the buttons only without replacing the whole thing ? That's what I did on my ML 350 . Thank you one more time.
I would like to see how to remove whole joystick and buttons near the shifter on C klass with Manual transmission, cause I have new central console to replace that piano sh black but all stuff is integrated inside it.
Hi There. Thank you for watching. I just added the links to the description. The one I purchased went up in price, so I found another that is less expensive, but also has great reviews.
You can leave the (silver) bezel on, just remove the complete unit from the top. Afterwards you can replace the unit without removing the bezel. Test before placing back. Bottom first.
Thank you for watching! I needed to translate this comment. 1. Removing the silver bezel first just makes it easier. Its best not to cut corners. Things get broken that way. 2. Why replace one button, when more than likely, the others will break soon as well. Just replace the whole unit. Its easier, and Its cheap!
This was far harder approach than simply replacing the two buttons. I used another UA-cam video to order and replace the buttons and not pull out entire control panel.
@@mariapeacock8414 thanks for the comment. I’m more of a “fix it right the first time” kind of guy so understanding that the buttons failed due to age, heat, etc, I was proactive in replacing the unit to prevent future failures. The plastic becomes brittle over time. It’s cheap and easy to pop in a new unit. Not sure why you found it difficult.
Out of all the instructional videos that I watched, this is by far the best one. Is presented so a third grader can fix it and that’s exactly what I needed. Ha ha.

Do we have to change all units? I have only one button broken?
It’s cheap enough just to replace the set. Others will eventually fail as well.
Thanks for sharing
No problem. Thank you for watching!
does the w205 and w213 share the same driver window switch?
I'm not sure. My only experience was with the w205.
Hey, Any idea how to source the switch board from Australia Thanks
Not sure about your location, but I provided links in the description to different ones on Amazon.
Do you have the Amazon link for this piece? Thanks!

Yes, you can, but removing the bezel makes it easier and less chance of breaking anything.
Do you need to disconnect the battery before you remove the wire?
No, I didn’t. Maybe some of the others that have fixed theirs will chime in also.
You’re the fuckin man this saved me 400 bucks

Зачем снимать серебристую рамку? Можно снять всё целиком сразу. Зачем менять весь блок целиком, если можно поменять одну кнопку вместо сломанной.
