  • Kaike Onsen is located in Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture, and is a sodium calcium chloride spring with an abundant water volume of 4456.5 liters per minute. It was first discovered by a local fisherman who happened to see bubbles spouting out into the sea while fishing on the beach.
The streets of Kaike Onsen, lined with modern buildings, have been selected as one of the "100 best urban landscapes" because of its harmony with the nature of the Sea of Japan and Mt. Daisen. The sunrise on Mt. Daisen seen from the seafront has been selected as one of the "100 best sunrises in Japan," the coastline of Yumigahama as one of the "100 best beaches in Japan," and the landscape spreading out at that location as one of the "100 best white sand and green pine trees in Japan.
To prevent erosion of the beach, tetrapods have been placed offshore. The Tombolo phenomenon, in which water currents form sandbars between the beach and the land, creates a unique landscape of bowl-shaped sandbars.
Kaike Onsen is also the birthplace of Japan's first triathlon, and the road leading to the finish line is named Triathlon Street and has a commemorative statue.
Yonago City is located near Sakaiminato Port, one of Japan's largest fishing ports, and Daisen, a national park rich in nature. The city is a treasure trove of fresh, high-quality seafood, beef, pork, poultry, dairy products, and underground water.
If you stay at this ryokan, you will be able to enjoy the unique scenery and cuisine of Kaike Onsen.
