this game was the super smash brothers brawl of the kaiju world. i remember getting this randomly as a kid and i was suddenly just like "i'm going to watch all the godzilla movies now". this is how you get people to buy your stuff, you make a game where giant monsters fight eachother and destroy all of north, south, and normal seattle.
Arin learns a move, wont tell Jon how to do it, Jon doesn't really care. Remember this for later VS episodes newcomers...
Jamie Schneider Yeah. One move out of several that Jon doesn't need to win whereas Arin needed to know the thing that Jon wouldn't tell him in order to stand some sort of a chance.

+Thomas Bosco in the hunger games, you need some knowledge to survive. how to get water, where to sleep and be safe, that kinda stuff. if someone doesn't know how to do that kinda stuff, the other people of course aren't going to help them unless they have something to offer to the person helping them.
they gotta learn on the fly and improvise. it's the way you play. first one to learn how it works wins.
or not. maybe they both shouldve read the instructions and known before hand. I dunno.

+Xendrus Idziak It's my assessment as well. Both Jon and Arin had the exact same amount of time to figure it out, and they both started out with the same knowledge of the game itself. The skill I suppose came from who had a more intimate knowledge of game mechanics as a whole, and could thus figure out how to pull off the maneuver quicker and win the round.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how Barry replicated that font?

It's like they made the animations based off of the costumed suit movements, rather than how they'd actually move. I guess mocap would do that.

This was actually a childhood game for me. My brother and I would just go around destroying buildings instead of fighting.

I played every Godzilla Destroy All Monsters game and the single players were my fucking favorite. HOW DARE YOU JOHN! Its because of you we probably wont ever see a new/another Godzilla game on the next gen

I absolutely loved this game, there needs to be an episode with all of the monsters. Also Anguirus can roll into a ball and roll all over the place, and Megalon can go underground and move anywhere. It would have been cool to see those in the video.

Yeah fuck that. To unlock new characters you have to beat Mechagodzilla who is cheap as fuck and it takes a miracle to beat him.
You can't expect much unless you can do better than them...

You guys have to play it again. Its just so fun to play. When u use the codes when ur on the Wii, u have to b really sensitive with the buttons. Hold down each button the code tells u and release them in reverse order. Btw u can pick up buildings and other people when u hit A and B at the same time.

Man this is one of my favorite games from my childhood. I still remember buying this game from toys r us all those years ago.
I remember just absolutely LOVING this game when I first played it. I love how you can use the environment to attack, like picking up buildings and using them as weapons or picking up your opponent and slamming them into buildings.

Dude! Jon, you've played Rampage 64?! Man, I have fond memories of that game! And by fond memories, I mean I've played video games so much that my brain has started to deteriorate and I' find it hard to even be sure of my own birthday. But my brother and I played Rampage 64 together. It was one of the rare times my brother had the time to play with me. That's why it's so fond. :_D
Yes. You can also: Summon Mothra to steal health, get "RAGE!" attacks that are kinda like Final Smashes, and some characters can Fly. (Oh, and Megalon can Dig)

The big thing about this game is the fact that the cheat codes are (mostly) different for every console, so from what I heard this was the Gamecube version. The gamecube code doesn't have a regular "Unlock all monsters" code, because you can't play as Orga if you unlock all of them. The Ps2 and Xbox games have it, and the Xbox one allows you to use the songs stored on memory, so if listening to Metallica or slipknot while Giant Movie Monsters are kicking ass in the background, then there you go.

Oh man, I got some great memories with this game. I've never met anybody who really played it, exept for my friend, who I played this will all the time. Man, this game was awesome.
I would love to see a Wii game that incorporated the motion sensor into the cheat code input. Like:
A, B, A, B, throw the remote, go pick it up, 1, 2, A, put it on the floor and give it a spin, pick it up, do the Macarena, give it a waggle, A, B, Start
PLEASE revisit this game again once you learn how to do some of the throwing, jumping and character/stage-unlocking. So underrated. :D

It's gotta be pretty terrifying to look out your window and see two colossal walking bugs with drills stomping through the city.
Mothra was in this game, but as a power-up. That purple moth power-up at the end summons Mothra who just flies around spitting a beam at whoever didn't get it.

That "North Seattle UFO" is actually a restaurant on a giant stick. I've been there, the view is pretty cool. Aliens charge way too much for food, though.
