    If removing tape rips your paper, you can go over it with a hairdryer. The heat will loosen the adhesive and you can remove the tape more easily.

    21 quid is a whole lot cheaper than Arches paper. Yes, it's expensive, but not as much as other papers. Professional papers are expensive. If you have a local shop that sells papers by the sheet, you can get one sheet and cut it down to the sizes you want and that will save you a lot of money on the most expensive papers. Use the leftover bits for color mixing practice before painting.

    Thanks for your time and effort. Probably just me. But I would prefer to see the painting the *right way round* from the off.
    You can do that by shooting the video from the top side of the board and then rotate the video in post-processing. Lovely finished piece!

    Try using painter’s tape. It won’t stick to your paper.
    Your technique is very inspiring. Have you ever watched Nick Stewart’s videos? He’s amazing.

    Never seen bleach used with any medium before, really cool, ink ordered, what interests me is the bleach delivery and control of bleaching. may try applying with fine thread or different concentrations of bleach with coloured inks. Thankyou, Ive been on watercolour for years but this is a whole new world.
    have you used any other brands/colours of ink?
    Thanks D.

      @thebeckynewellcollective  Рік тому

      The Waterford ink is the only one I know that works with bleach. However using different concentrations of bleach works really well and you’re right! Use thread , use anything that’s handy. It’s such a lovey way to work. As for colours I use a lot of acrylic ink and any sort would do but water colours work equally well I find 👍🏻 hope you’ve had loads of fun with this method of working x

    That landscape looks amazing, very moody & mysterious. Do you use pure bleach or diluted with water & have you used any other fountain pen inks?
    Thank you for sharing your process!

    • @thebeckynewellcollective
      @thebeckynewellcollective  2 роки тому +1

      Hi tanja, thank you.. I use both, in fact, pure and various degrees of diluted it just depends on the moment! Sometimes I use a damp brush or add water before I begin adding the bleach but at others I will put the bleach on and then,very quickly add the water. Re: ink , no I haven’t but if you find others that work let me know 👌 Hope you have fun experimenting 👍🏻

    to stop the tape tearing your paper, stick the tape to the carpet pull it up & stick it again. this takes some of the adhesive off.

    This is beautiful!! Will the bleach eat through the paper eventually? Just wonder if this process can be used for pieces intended to have longevity. I’d love to start asap.

      Hi thank you for your question and your kind comment. To be honest you've got me in a fizz now 😂 I don't know is the answer, so if anyone does then please let us know! I suppose I question if it needs sealing? if you mean how do you get the bleach to stop doing what its doing when it's got to the place you want it to... The answer I'm afraid is you can't! That's kind of the joy of it. You have to relax and allow the materials to do their thing and sort of shepherd stuff.... Allow it to happen rather than try and be in control of the finished product. Once you've left it for a day it does look a bit different. That's when you can go back in with pen and watercolour if you choose. Hope that helps ❤️

      @@thebeckynewellcollective Perhaps, if you soak it once it is all dry and add a bit of soap to the water to stop the bleach from continuing to bleach out the ink. If the ink is permanent, it probably won't move at all and will stay the same. That is my guess. I would not want it to continue to bleach out because it would potentially change the picture completely. In any case, it's very beautiful and worth a try. Thanks for sharing this technique.

      What effect where you trying to get? As a rule they don't mix but there's nothing wrong with experimenting. If it's possible try watercolour...straight out of the tube instead of acrylic, or even very light acrylic ink. It just depends what effect you where aiming for. Hope that gives you some ideas to play with, don't give up on experimenting though, the best ideas come from those. ❤️👌
