- Nerd Miner is a kind of Solo Mining which dig BTC.
Is solo mining profitable?
The answer to it mainly depends on two factors such as network difficulty and the hardware power. Also it is very much like winning a lottery. You’ll either find a solution to the block in a short period of time or it will take years. The probability of finding blocks is lower when you are solo mining. However solo mining has the highest returns in the long run compared to pool mining.
Solo Mining: How does solo mining works?
In solo mining a users mines cryptocurrency without relying on a third party systems such as mining pools. That is instead of connecting to a pool a solo miners points out their mining hardware to their local Bitcoin wallet client (Bitcoin QT wallet) and starts finding blocks.

after you do the initial setup and see the kh/s numbers, how do you get into the config screen again if you want to change the timezone or anything? seems like once setup you cannot get into the nerdminer wifi setup page anymore.
push and hold the upper orange button
that is a total reset, i only want to change 1 setting in stead of typing my btc address again and the pool@@patricktheriault1097
you need to press one of the two buttons at the back of the device for more than 5 seconds, then it goes back to factory state, and you can do it again, make sure to set time
Is there a way to verify the authenticity of this pool from nerdminer? Is it possible the people control the pool just steals devices hash power (in a sense, other peoples electriity)?
When setting up you have to manually enter your own btc wallet. So unless there back doored I don't think so
besides the chance of winning, does it actually contribute to the bitcoin network in any way please ? or is it useless...
Its more for hobby and possibly to get lucky for lottery once block is mined
It does but think of it like this every miner has a bucket the bigger the bucket the higher the chance you will get a gold nugget. This is like handing a miner a thimble and having them one thimble at a time look for gold.
Now it started with 50 golf ball sized chunks of gold now it is 6 pin head sized chunks soon it will be 3.
As for contribution yes every one of these does 56-75kh/s of work in order to make blocks at a 100% chance rate per day you need hundreds of TH/s. So if you were to run a network of 100000 of these miners it would be 7.5TH/s @1000w a single antminer s9 does 14TH/s at 100w
So why do it. Because there is a 1 in 100000000 % chance your thimble will be the miner to dig up the block. David beats goliath as it were.
Another analogy that might be more correct the lotto is a big number and who ever buys the winning ticket first gets the prize each of these buys a ticket at 75k tickets per second vs the bigger miners who buy at the thousands per second. There is a chance you will still hit the block. Slim but still...
Just a lottery nothing more.
@@logann001 did somebody ever win? can we check that somehow ?

Umm, yes, they are all based on SHA-256
It will only mine btc

Just make a BTC wallet. Like Trust Wallet etc and use that adress.
How much electricity it takes yearly ? Or monthly?
About $1 a month to run probably around $12 per year
@@TurtleFootMininghow much does it make a year
If running about almost all the time
@@Beatrixkiddo318 it makes nothing if you don't hit a block. It's a lottery miner, you need to get very very very lucky to hit anything.
@@Beatrixkiddo318 $0.00
Почему у меня не подключается к вай фай?
Возможно ли проблема в самом роутере? Но другие устройства без проблем подключаются
Did you connect to the nerd miner itself
Good for education on mining ⛏️
Don’t buy guys, you’ll never find a block with one of these mosquitoes against those big ASICS bad boys.
😏
❤❤❤
This video has been 5 months ago. Did you get any profitability? Is it possible to enter real pools? Even if it's for us to gain symbolic values.
This device seems more like a fraud to me. The team seems to be taking advantage of these connected devices for its own benefit
@@magnata5028 It might be sending your IP adress and WIFI password directly to them.
Do you have any update? It's already 6 months?
The hashrate has been increased to around 77Kh/s. And there is NerdMiner with little fans.
you tried to hide your wallet all the time but at the end it was everywhere 😅
This is us youtubers editing after midnight haha
tnx for the video
It's useless don't waste money buying
What's a better one to buy
@@fredsix7746s9😂
why waste money??? you are fk prick, dont lite, anybody need chance not short nb of people
Yep just seems a way of selling shit cheap components, no real usage 1 in a trillion trillion chance of hitting a block on that vs a real miner
@@squishy3370 It would never hit a block 0% chance it's a scam by nerd miner and other companies that are selling esp32/esp8266 as a miner
Mine doesn't seem to mine anything.. not even few satoshi...
you dont mine ;) It;s a lotery
@@demogadget It's not even a lottery
yes it is@@Sm0oTh92
It’s solo mining BTC you will forever earn nothing unless you hit the block. Your not in a pool with other miners your by yourself so you won’t earn any Satoshis unless your rewarded the block. At not even 80 k/hs you are technically mining BTC but your competitors are pools of thousands of people with ASICS that’s why it’s called a lottery because your chances of hitting that solo block are slim to none.
check your wallet adress, i had the same problem, a guy told me that the nerdminer needs a wallet adress that starts with "bc1"
Scam
Seems like its some BS
scam
(before I watch) its both a scam and legit the scam part is that its just a cheap little esp32 device that got marked up by like $20 and the legit part is it mines 😐
Bought one, screen went black & won't display anything. Piece of cheap shit
Did you plug it in?
