TN TRB Recruitment 2024 Announces 4,000 Assistant Professor Vacancies
The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB) has unveiled a notification for the recruitment of Assistant Professors in the Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Service, marking 4,000 available positions across government Arts, Science, and Education colleges. Eligible candidates can apply starting from March 28 through the official website trb.tn.gov.in, with the deadline set for April 29 at 5 pm.

Vacancy Details:
The vacancies include 72 backlog positions, 4 shortfall vacancies, 3 posts dedicated to teaching hard-of-hearing individuals in Tamil and computer application subjects, and 3,921 current vacancies. Interested candidates can refer to the recruitment notification for subject-wise vacancy listings and educational qualification requirements. Additionally, candidates must be under 57 years of age as of July 1, 2024.
Selection Process:
Candidates will undergo a selection process consisting of a written examination and interviews. The written exam, totaling 200 marks, features two papers. Paper 1 comprises 100 marks divided into two sections: Section A, containing 50 compulsory questions (25 each from Tamil Language and General Knowledge), and Section B, consisting of eight descriptive questions from chosen subjects. Paper 2 also includes two sections: Section A with 50 multiple-choice questions and Section B with eight long questions based on the subject chosen. The interview round carries 30 marks.
For qualification, open category candidates need to score a minimum of 40%, while other categories require 30%. Interview invitations will be based on multiples of vacancies, ensuring a fair selection process.
