What mistake? As long as the coloring pencils quality is not utter crap I'd take that over crayons anytime 😂 that's just my opinion though because I hate how waxy crayons are and the feeling of the residue it lefr on my hands. When I try to wash it off the residue is still there, a very weird texture and that bothers me

We were given crayons (oil pastels, whatever you wanna call them) because they repel water, so that it's easier to do watercolour. Even though I suck at using crayons/pastels, ESPECIALLY WHEN I GET MY FINGERS ALL MESSY AND STICKY WITH THAT STUFF!

I usually use crayola products to color particulaly the colored pencils. Ooooo speaking of i challenge you to use every color of colored pencil in the largest crayola colored pencil box in one piece of art work. Also have you tried drawing with gel pens?
Nellie Czajkowski you should try prismacolor soft core pencils. They have them for really affordable prices on places like amazon. For me they changed my drawing game. They just work so much better. They shade better, color seems more vibrant, and souper smooth.. Ever since I first tried the soft core pencils from prismacolor I don’t think I’ve ever bought anything else.
Just my preference though, some people may like the harder cored pencils.
I don't like the sparse kind of texture that colored pencils leave. I prefer a fuller coverage
