Hello there my friend, took a while indeed, and tried to search for the earlier travel plan suggestion you recommended, fabulous and want to thank you for this sincerely. If I understood you correctly, here is the very brief summary. Oslo to Dombas, and then same day Dombas to Andalsnes. Perhaps, by the arrival time in Adnalsnes, there is no sense to continue same day to Bjorli, therefore night stay in Andalsnes. I could not find anything cheaper but there seems to be a camping spot selling for around 450 NOK, let me know if you know something even cheaper! The next morning, Andalsnes to Bjorli, explore Bjorli, and afternoon come back to Andalsnes so as to make the trip in day light for scenery. Once, in Andalsnes, seems either can go back to Oslo or then again spend a night in Andalsnses and go back to Oslo next morning but might have very limited number of days. Apart from this, how can we combine this trip with Flamsbana line? There is no easy way to get to Flam from Andalsnes or Bjorli. VY shows that we need to go to Oslo first. Do you have any ideas? Furthermore, is Bergen to Stavanger something really special by road? heard about it, but some said it is not as spectacular, but if it is worth taking, please make a suggestion. This is because if Flamsbana is done, then there is a way to get to Bergen from Flam, as it seems. Many thanks.
You can check Trollstigen Camping and Gjestegård,Åndalsnes Hostel ,Airbnb. It is recommended to book early, especially during peak tourist seasons, as budget accommodations fill up quickly.
@ thanks a ton for this much appreciated. Also, as I understood, flamsbana and rauma line, in order of these two of them one must go back and start from Oslo. For example, only one can be done which one would it be? Would you suggest flamsbana or rauma line? Wish the two could be combined, but one just have to have enough days for that.
Oslo to Åndalsnes seems possible with a change in train. Is it advisable to do Rauma line in one day from Oslo or a stop should be taken in Åndalsnes Further, if one wants to do the Flåm line from Åndalsnes i.e after doing the Rauma line, what's the best route? Does one need to come all the way back to Oslo to do Flåm line or there is some shortcut? Many thanks!
Thank you so much for your comment! If you're planning a trip, I recommend focusing on the Northwest region of Norway. You can experience the breathtaking Atlanterhavsvegen and Trollstigen roads, and take on the Romsdalseggen ridge hike. The urban and cultural vibes in Kristiansund, Molde, and Åndalsnes are also worth exploring. The contrasts between fjords, mountains, and the sea in this area are truly spectacular. To cover Valldal, Gudbrandsjuvet, Trollstigen, and Åndalsnes with the Golden Train ride, I’d suggest setting aside at least 2-3 days. Flåm is another gem, but I’d recommend visiting it on a separate tour. I’m sharing a few links to my journey in Romsdal below-you'll love it! ua-cam.com/video/NT9IAE9cFas/v-deo.htmlsi=afP1-almVpdcWv2D ua-cam.com/video/sTHXn59bIL8/v-deo.htmlsi=ylWSTli9ukOXjBN-
@@shutterbuginnorway hello and I thank you for your great advice. unfortunately I do not have a car and therefore relying on the public transport. As well I do not have any accommodation planned yet. I am on a budget trip. Please let me know what would be the best places to go. what I thought was the Rauma line and Flåm line. the problem is that after Rauma line, there is no feasible route to go to Flåm line. what I researched and found was that the only way to go back to Oslo and from there take a train to Myrdal for the Flåm line. However, looking at some of the suggestions that you gave I think from Ådalsnes, the Atlantic road is doable. I noticed VY does not cover this section and there is a different bus company that takes care of this route. Prices are divided in zones so it is a bit confusing as to what would be the right ticket. However, you mentioned golden train line. please suggest a little more about it. For example, it may be more easier for me to understand why our names of stops. From which stop to which stop? In addition, please suggest some hidden gems also. Thank you very much.
