They all sound pretty nice,,but i do like the Kangaroo head the best it was a little more dry the the other two .
Actually, the kangaroo was the driest of the three, made the snares sound choked even.
There was no trash here as all are good. The kangaroo was a rare treat to hear and had a warm, focused, beautiful tone. The Remo sounded warmer than the Evans. Evans may have more attack.
Kangaroo the best.
Kangaroo Hide Heads are real skin
Remo Fyberskyn is a synthetic alternative for real skin
but
Calftone is a synthetic alternative for Calfskin, wich is not the same as kangaroo skin, well i think that. Let me know what do you guys think.
I've found that with Remo Fiberskyn heads the top layer delaminates and 'bubbles' rather quickly. Tried out Evans '56 Calftone heads as an alternative haven't run into that 'bubbling' issue with them yet. They do lend a rather warm full tone to toms and brush response is good.
wow how good is that review!
Wow the 🦘 head leaves the others in the dust!
Excellent review. Ty :) Needing heads for my bop kit. As yet I’ve only heard Evans calftone on toms. They sounded beautiful. But based on this review either Evans calftone or Remo fiberskyn will do great. The Kentville Roo sounds amazing & it’d be great to have for special use.
Awesome video! They all sound fantastic.
Great review Kwesi Nice and informative.
The remo and Evans will bubble quite quickly. Useless for brushes. Fitted my gretch set with calfskin. I am over the moon with them. Calf skin rule.xg🥁
Yeah the Reno ones bubble. I never liked them on my gretch snare. I just got the kangaroo,i love it. DoNt know what it'll be lime playing gigs with it though. It sounds dope.
Evans 56. But am really interested in the room construction you’re in.
kentville!!! is nice vintage tone!
Great video, thanks! I am seriously considering trying the Kentville!
I like the Evans Calftone the best: warmer and more focused sound. Kentville gives up the highs a bit, and remo fibreskin has a slightly more trebly scattered sound. Thank you very much for putting up this comparison.
The kangaroo skin one is not worth the money imo. They do sound good though. The snare in the video definitely doesn’t do it justice because it sounds like the snare side is cranked and the snares themselves are too tight.
I will say that kentville will generally last much much longer and the texture stays consistent through the full life of the head
I just got some remo fiber drum heads for my vintage Ludwig down beat thay sound great 🥁
I'm a Remo guy but I prefer The Kentville and the Evans
MIGHT BE THE QUESTION OF TUNNING AND PARTICULAR SNARE BUT REMO SUNDS DRYEST AND BEST
Bummer - I'd really love to have heard the kangaroo on a 12" or 13" tom.
