I got to make myself one of these for my space. Getting everything cut with my everlast plasma cutter would be much easier if it were on a cnc but definitely doable.
Thanks! I probably won't do another one too soon, as we don't have any major home projects coming up. But next time we do, I'll post another video for sure.
I can't remember the exact specs of the kit (model # etc), but it's the 17 in. tread. I would recommend calling Salter Spiral stairs and having them walk through taking measurements with you. Doing that part right is the most important part. Installing the kit once you have the opening correctly built is pretty easy, but time consuming.
Hey Nathan, It can be done, but with the 17" tread, it's not easy. We put a tight staircase in to save space. I'd still do it again, but only use a stair tread that small if you really need to save the space. Andy
The cat is so smart. Cat knew how to get up the stairs without falling.
Thanks for the video. Putting one in and looking at Salter also.

That was truly awesome!
The ending was so cool.
I’m gonna do this to my attic soon. Any tips?
Thanks!
Yep! Make sure you're opening is spot on. Take the time (or pay someone) to do it correctly. The stairs themselves are a piece of cake
This is so cool because I was just thinking about how that would look for my attic
the cat is a beautiful model testing out those stairs for ya, lol
How to get any new large furniture upstairs ?
Just wondering Andy, what is the diameter of the staircase? Thanks and good video!!
Me too , i need one just like that which requires little space.
Wow it is beautiful! I love it
Thanks!
How did you support the floor joists when you cut the opening?
Bloody good question. Now you got me thinking. I want to fit one of these and you may have just changed my mind, lol
What was the size of the opening in the floor?
44 inches (i think?) for this particular kit. it's been 7 years and i don't remember for sure, but i'm pretty sure it was 44 inches
Is that a 42" diameter spiral staircase? How much space do you have left on the side balister and the opening?
What is the measurements of the space
How big is the opening?
hi Andy Lehman , i like your video and i was wondering what is the dimension of the opening in the ceiling .
44"
Fantastic job, Andy! Will you be doing another video like this soon?
Thanks! I probably won't do another one too soon, as we don't have any major home projects coming up. But next time we do, I'll post another video for sure.
How long did it take to install, start to finish?
About 4 hours of work if you did it without stopping
So what's up in the holes
What kit did you buy for this?

How practical are stairs this size? Enough room to get up and down with a laundry basket in hand?
