Nothing but faith that Gunn and Corenswet will deliver, but this is THE portrayal of Superman and they have MASSIVE shoes to fill. I adore Reeve, Welling, and Cavil, but Tyler fully embodies Superman to perfection. Everyone involved completely understands this character and his world, and it shows. Best CW show by a mile, and just an excellent show all around. Going to miss them so, so much. Sobbed watching that perfect finale.
My biggest worry about Gunn’s Superman is how much it seems he’s throwing into it. We’re definitely not going to get a thoughtful movie about Superman, it seems more like world building for his new universe. Not a bad thing necessarily, but an interesting choice for sure. I just hope it’s not too crammed with all of the characters he’s introducing.
@@alexthrailkill I understand this but it seems to me, all these heroes we see in the film are to show us corporaterized superheroes have become as opposed to the genuineness of Superman.
@ I think it’s just gonna feel like a world that already exists, where we (the audience) are just thrown into it. Like John Wick, for example. I don’t think the other heroes are gonna be major supporting roles or anything.
Been waiting all day for your reaction. My only complaint is that Hector was SO determined not to let the emotion get to him that he talked through the most compelling moments, lol. Adam & Agustin were feeling it & showing it, tho. :) I sobbed through the ending the first time I watched. Laugh/sobbed at Krypto. Every Superman movie/show brings something else to the myth. Superman & Lois is definitely top tier. Like they said about life, it's all about love and meaning and truth. Wow. This sweet take on Superman comes at such a cynical time in our country. How about that?
Perfect. Tyler is MY Superman. I hope JG's is just as good or better. Because this...this is what it's all about. Heart, Family, Truth, Justice and a better tomorrow.
The true strength of a hero isn’t within their powers, it’s within their heart. And the Super Family is growing stronger every passing day. Such a fantastic way to end not just this show, but the entire WB/CW DC superhero era. Starting all the way in 2001 with Smallville, all through out the 2010s with the Arrowverse, to here now. A 23-year era. There will never be something like this again… but we are lucky to have it exist.
This show is GOATed for something no other Superman adaptation has done before: give Lex and Clark TRUE CLOSURE. The scene, like this series, was truly beautiful and I’m gonna miss it so much.
I was a blubbering mess by the end of this episode, but it was a good thing. It takes a special show like this to bring out those simultaneously-sad-it’s-over-and-glad-it-happened tears, and it’s the kind of emotional release that we all need sometimes. 4 perfect seasons of a perfect Superman adaptation and a perfect show. Love it.
Seems that Hector must have a coping mechanism to talk through the real emotional parts seen at the end of this Finale to help push those emotions way way down with distractions What i think Hector was probably thinking: "...must....avoid.... getting teared up on stream.....at ALL costs" lol 😅 Loved checking out your reactions to this show each week. Looking forward to what series you will be posting next to the channel.
@@coachvictor_game So you can read Agustin's and Adam's minds? That's some super power you have. It's clear from their in-depth discussion afterward that no one was deprived of any emotional experiences from the show.
Dude that last 15 minutes, that's......... Superman. He's inspiration and hope. Salute Tyler & Bitsie and the creators, showing you can tell modern day Superman stories and lose the essence of who this character is.
Who would have thought that Tyler's Superman, one who originated as a small side character in a CW Supergirl TV show, would ever give us this beautiful show?
I posted this in another reaction. This show did something that has always been a struggle for Superman writers - they him SO.... human. They were able to create something so relatable. This show was 4 seasons of awesome. I couldn't make it through the reaction without welling up again.
An absolute PERFECT ending to the show. Honestly, the best ending to a show I've ever watched and I've watched A LOT. Just pure perfection. So sad it's all over
I watch y’all all the time never miss an episode love what you do. But come on the most heart wrenching part of the video 99% of your audience crying and Hector can’t keep his mouth shut for 4mins. Let us feel what y’all are feeling. Adam was ready to cry and you can see where he just wanted to let his emotions out but instead he’s trying to ignore one liners. Y’all got 15mins after the watch to make jokes laugh, just let us all FEEL what y’all are feeling it comes through the screen even with silence. See ya in the next vid.
loved the reaction guys, been watching since season 1 but i’m sorry i had to be honest, i don’t have problem when reactor talks during scene, but for this i always having a hard time watching you guys react to some serious/emotional scene without hearing hector keeps talking and making jokes during those scenes. i always appriciate and amaze at hector for his knowledge on comics to help give more context about things that happen on the scene but please read the room next time. all love ❤
I would absolutely watch a character driven, This Is Us network style drama from this creative team. This show really was just a human/family drama with a superhero backdrop and setting. Just hire the whole cast back and write a family drama and I will be seated.
It's such a beautiful ending to not only this show but DC on the CW. Genuine, hopeful, loving. That's what this show has always been, and that's what the end is. Tyler Hoechlin is now my favorite Superman in Live Action, Bitsie Tulloch is my favorite Lois, and Michael Cudlitz is my favorite live action Lex. This show is gonna be truly missed. I'm gonna miss these reactions. They were so much fun. Thanks for all the great moments, Superman & Lois ❤
Did the show change my opinion on anything you ask... Yes. I grew up on the Christopher Reeve movies. Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch are now the definitive versions of Superman and Lois Lane for me. This series was great. I'm sad it's over, but I'm happy they were able to go out on their own terms. They really stuck the landing on the finale. What a wonderful gift we were given with this show. Definitely going to be getting the Blu-ray boxed set when it comes out. (And it better come out)
I think Tyler will go down not as my Superman, but my Clark Kent. His portrayal is everything I wanted Clark Kent to be. Because a lot of people see Clark as the alter ego and Supes is who he is, but this show managed to make Clark who is really was and Supes was the alter ego and it worked brilliantly.
I hope the team behind Superman and Lois gets to do something in James Gunn's DC universe. Especially something to do with Superman. They've set a very high bar with this show and people are missing out big time. Now, time for a rewatch from season 1-4...
This episode. All of the feels. I fell in love with the series since the first episode. But this finale, made my cry so much. It is beautiful, powerful, and will make you feel every scene. Beautiful end to a beautiful show!
I’m about to start from season one and watch all your reaction videos. Watching this season reaction videos with you was an awesome experience. Glad I didn’t cry alone. This show reminded me why Superman was my favorite hero as a kid. Haven’t felt this type of heart since Reeves
The music in the scene where Bizarro lets Clark push him into the sun was on some King Fu Panda vibes like that was such a good score this whole episode had an amazing score!

I like how they got David Giuntoli to play a older version of Jon. David Giuntoli is Married to Bitsie Tulloch (Lois)! They met on the set of the show Grimm. I believe he also directed this episode.
Superman & Lois will probably be my bar for peak Superman storytelling. Period. From here on out. They nailed Lex, Lois, Superman, Clark, Doomsday, Superboy, Manheim...Just too many hits to misses on this show
Hector is right, everyone who worked on this show should be proud. This show is proof that if you care about the story, fans will care just as much. Creators finally did Superman justice. The time of DC Shows are done on The CW. It began with Superman (Smallville) so shall it end with Superman. What a phenomenal run.
This show was phenomenal. What lucky people we all are to be surrounded by such beautiful stories. I can't wait to share in more Superman stories to come with you all (especially My Adventures With Superman)
The team behind this show gave us so much. Pivoting to Smallville because of Covid. Budget constraints. Having to end because of the DCU. Yet, they delivered amazing Superman stories. Tyler’s portrayal made me feel hopeful. He understood the assignment. They all did. They got it and they bought into it. I’m so sad to see this show end. Give the whole team their flowers. This show was a gift. It will be a tough act to follow.
This show is a gem and has comfortably placed itself right next to Smallville in the Superman media Hall of Fame, fantastic conclusion, it really did go by so fast😭
So I’ll tell you why guys. when Adam said the show had such a CW ending in reference to what other people would say, I like that it was a CW show and yes, it does have a style to it, but that is what I liked about all the superhero shows the entire arrow verse. That’s what made it unique so if anybody ever says to me, it has such a CW ending I said good cause that’s what made it special for me.
i remember when u heard that season 4 will have huge budget cuts, i thought VFX will be bad, but it's surprisingly good. not great, sure, but it's way better than i thought.
Honestly, I loved it. It was a little sappy, but in a good way. The show earned it, and you can tell because the audience was craving those moments. This show is the best Superman story on film, hands down. Loved every second of this last season and they wrapped it up so well. Gonna miss this show for sure.
What is truly underrated is how they fit so much into one episode and didn't make it feel rushed. They gave everyone a moment and let them all cook one last time. There were no stories left open and they left nothing on the table.
kinda took the playbook from (if i remember right) spiderman: through the years comic story. 4 issues only but its a what if on back in 60s when spiderman appeared he aged normall in the years. so by late 2010s peter was in his late 60s and same for others that aged. spoilers but final issue was kinda like how it ended here peter at his final moments recalled the things he done and ppl he met since he became spiderman, why he kept doing it, teaching those to be good and so on.
Shows can stay on the air too long. As much as it sucks to lose a show like this, at the top of its game, now it can never not go out on top. This is the value of ending a show instead of going on forever for the money. We get a satisfying ending.
This is the standard to what all comic shows should aspire to be, to me this show is like 4 excellent Superman films, that’s how you do a series finale, bring all the storylines to a satisfying conclusion & wrap up the characters, these writers know who Superman is to his core, they nailed it, that was a perfect ending, to me this series was the perfect Superman story, to everyone involved… thank you 🙏
Christopher Reeve will always have a special place in my heart as Superman, but damn, Tyler Hoechlin has given me sides of Superman that I have never seen on the screen. He was phenomenal. This entire cast was great. I am really going to miss this show. Superman is my favorite comic book character, and I am excited to see where James Gunn takes him. Oh, I don't hear enough people mentioning Michael Cudlitz's portrayal of Lex Luthor. He is hands down the best Lex in any screen adaptation.
28:32 -- Lex likely would be dead by this point as it's 32 years after the end of the main part of the series, which would put Lex in his 90s; so he's probably been dead for a number of years and this is Clark coming to peace with him.
Nothing but faith that Gunn and Corenswet will deliver, but this is THE portrayal of Superman and they have MASSIVE shoes to fill. Shows can stay on the air too long. As much as it sucks to lose a show like this, at the top of its game, now it can never not go out on top. This is the value of ending a show instead of going on forever for the money. We get a satisfying ending.
Adult Jordan is played by David Gintoli, bitsy's real life husband and star of "GRIMM" where the two of them first met
That hit home so hard the ending. This show is something we needed in currently climate. A perfect ending.
28:32 -- Lex likely would be dead by this point as it's 32 years after the end of the main part of the series, which would put Lex in his 90s; so he's probably been dead for a number of years and this is Clark coming to peace with him.
I'm so glad you put out this reaction fast.
Great video and discussion after!
