Obviously y'all didn't listen to the post game press conference. Stefanski addressed the play, calling it a dumb play, but overall Deshaun played a B game. Good game, but can always improve.

I am going to guess that the play call was for watson to roll out, have the receiver run parallel with him about 5 yards off the line of scrimmage... if the DB covers the receiver., watson is supposed to run, if the DB comes up to get watson, watson throws to the receiver... but Tillman ran the wrong route, which he has a history of doing. Regardless, Watson can not throw an incomplete pass there. You just gave them another timeout. If the receiver is not wide open, tuck the ball, run, and stay in bounds.
I do not think Watson is going to be an upgrade from Baker. I think Watson is a broken man due to his off field activities. He has been and is going to be called a rapists etc and will always be labeled as a rapist. Even if all of these accusations are false that has got to hurt that man down to the core. He may have a few good games here and there but being better than Baker I do not Think so. Also he got paid and it does not matter how he plays he is getting paid giving no incentives.

You know nothing about ball. You can’t just sit here and say “he didn’t have 300 yards and 3 tds so he played bad, that’s not worth the money”. He made every throw yesterday. He was accurate and quick, he made some great throws on the run evading pressure. He looked like a star, he was surgical. You guys just will complain if he doesn’t have a madden stat line every week.

I was extremely critical of DW4 last week.
The stats are irrelevant in grading him this week. I grade him an A! The man made some spectacular plays, and delivered the ball accurately all day.

It's not about lowering the bar dude. It's about doing what stefanski wants him to do. Stefanski doesn't want him to be the superhero all game. It's about being consistent and being special in those moments when you have to have it.
Nobody could have won against the Cowboys in week 1. If Watson has enough protection, he's as good as Mahomes if not better considering Mahomes hasn't really been explosive in a couple of years.

Watson had a couple bad plays, but overall he looked decent. To keep his cool with all those penalties is definitely saying something.
Unfortunately I don’t think Deshaun will ever be what he once was. Even if physically, a season worth of reps can get him close after missing so much prime time, I don’t know how anyone would ever be able to overcome this level of scrutiny and adversity. I’m sure he’s spending six figures minimum on shrinks and social media people. I still don’t believe all the stuff around him, a woman holds a video for four years and goes to a lawyer instead of the police? Either way, he’s been humiliated.

Browns obviously played better overall just ok . I thought that qb chart was funny I noticed they didn’t show Baker’s stats because he probably beat Watson.
This week, Watson played against the Jags the same way that Mahomes played against the Bengals, they played to win. They did that because in meaningful games, that’s what the elite quarterbacks do, win the game and say screw the stats because going 1-0 this week is all that matters. Any other argument is irrelevant, don’t forget Joe Burrow dropped 250 passing yards and still lost.
I give watson a C- for Sunday, huge improvement from week 1, but still deshaun only had a 78.8 passer rating and that ranked 23rd out of the 30 teams that played in week 2. Still a bad statistical game. But defense held on for the win. I would also like to see him score a td after the first qtr. Deshaun now moves up to 30th in qbr on the season. Only Caleb and Bryce has worse qbr through 2 weeks.

That first quarter was damn! He fixed everything. But, it went downhill. So, is it rust? If so, by week 5 when Chub comes back. Watson is poor to mediocre. 1 qtr of good play doesn't make you elite.the only elite quarterbacks right Now are in KC, NO, TB, AZ, and Buff.

Watson Grade: D minus! ....an improvement from "F minus" in Game 1. If he keeps improving a little each week, perhaps by the end of the season, he can be graded a C+ by Game 17.

The penalties is the reason why the 3rd down conversion rate was sow low. Holding calls, false starts and Foreman's offensive face mask penalty killed drives. If the Browns cutdown on the penalties, then you are facing 3rd and 5 or 3rd short in most cases, but if he you are consistently having to go 20 yards to make a first down, then that is a problem. Most teams who are faced with first and 20 or second and 20 are not going to convert a high percentage of those downs and will end up punting after 3rd down.
Trevor Lawrence has a higher yearly than Watson and he played exceptional!!

A lot of ppl are killing that third down call. I didnt mind it. If they execute game over. If he just takes the sack, the result is the same however 40 seconds come off the clock. Virtually the same as running the ball. Had he just been sacked I dont think the reaction is the same. Eagles made a call last night that would have won the game and Barkley dropped it. Perfect execution minus that part. They ended up losing for it. EOD the calls were great, just not executed. I might have not called them so early into the season when players are working themselves into shape.
