I can't say it's my favourite song, but the dancing and the video in the background make it a pretty hilarious experience live. Great fun!

Yeah, Totally agree. I enjoyed it, but the Joakim background was hilarious and great!

Oh Majinai means something like "Hocus Pocus", or if someone wants to do a cute/funny magic spell. At the Legend Metal Galaxy show in February they played a clip before the song with something like a magic metal land for children and the adults tried to get into this land, so they were "cursed" to dance. That's probably the background to the video they have behind them on stage with Joakim.

Thank you. That makes sense. In my mind I was thinking on the lines of a Jin. This Band never let's you down.

That clip before this song essentially tells the story of Pinocchio skipping school and going fantasy island. As in that’s were it comes from originally.

@@jannette771 That's a cool info. Didn't know that, thanks! Seems like I need to catch up on my Italian kids novels knowledge.

Pinocchio is one of my favourites. Never seen anyone else catch the connection/similarities. Many would probably disagree.

      @piotrtoborek2442 3 роки тому

@@jannette771 I kinda disagree... Pinocchio is about growing up (taking on resposibilities and learning to care about others), and the intro is reversed Pinocchio if anything where Metal Warrior from the North is cursed to dance forever while longing for Metal Heven. On the other hand BABYMETAL loves them reversals like this so... who knows ;)

Great reaction - and yes that was fun, its what this song is. There is almost certainly a good mix of cultures in this one with the Irish type dance steps, some sort of Soviet block visuals on the big screen with Joakim and his pick axe and I think the melody is based on a Finnish polka.
When I first heard this song I just knew the choreo would have to be something fun and special, so I couldn't wait to see a live version ... I was not disappointed.
There is fan cam footage of the mosh pit for this song in Moscow somewhere that is worth checking out just to see what a very unusual (and fun) mosh this encourages.
I would normally shy against compilation videos, some of them are truly awful - but in this instance, without going outside of UA-cam there is very little option and the site you found this one on is very good and worth remembering for other songs where there is not a good full live version to be found - the person who makes these particular compilations goes to a lot of trouble to find the best footage he can and to get and the best audio he can as well and then to put it all together.

Im lovin it! It's different but just how many times you hear that word combined with Babymetal ^^
They did other collabs too, in some form of fashion:
    - Bring Me The Horizon: KINGSLAYER
    - Polyphia: BRAND NEW DAY
    - Dragonforce: ROAD OF RESISTANCE
    - Arch Enemy: DISTORTION
    - F Hero: PA PA YA
    - Tak Matsumoto: DA DA DANCE

When Babymetal turns up the silliness to 11 all you can do is smile. :-)
And one of the best songs live, so much fun ! Actually I had ticket for a second Babymetal show... but then covid-19 attacked.
Some say pirate metal, but it clearly has many influences. For example as others have mentioned Polka from Finland (a direct cover exists by metal band Korpiklaani)

And here is a link to their big live show: streamable.com/ederf6 (not good for reactions, because they want to sell the blu-ray)

I know you already know "Primo Victoria" but there is a 2005 concert vid of that song. The original musicians and Joakim with lots of hair and the whole band leather dressed. If you don't make a reaction of it, it's at least worth to be seen.

There should be other versions of this, and at least one where Joachim is live instead of video.. I recommend you guys checking them out for fun.
Oh yea, "ievan polkka", folk dance/song part of this song(from finland), its been already in a popular meme or two years ago..

The only time Joakim was on stage with them was at Dark Night Carnival when they performed Meta Taro. And he just stood there pumping his fist together with the Darth Vader guy from Galactic Empire. Found the whole thing pretty awkward to be frank ;)

the fun fact about that song is. it rose to popularity because of an Anime named Girls and Panzer.
and the fins actually played this bloody song for 12 hours straight because it interfered with russian mines.. so they blasted it as loud as possibly and then the engineers could dispose of the mines
could be im wrong about the song, but they defenetly did that with one

You two arguing at the start was funny. Granddad has played lots of Sabaton records for me, but i like Babymetal more. Majinai means Magic in Japanese.I think in this Babymetal are doing the ritual dance to bring harmony through Majinai. Micael.

Su loves her some Folk Metal.
This was a favorite of hers from the latest album, 'Metal Galaxy'.
'Meta Taro' was a favorite from the second album.
Here's Joakim Broden from Sabaton talking about collaborating on this song with BABYMETAL:

great content fellas, the intro to the song is about a curse of unattainable desire and the result is metal warriors are forced to dance in unity, and the song's lyrics are about begging for the curse to be lifted.
