- Bill Haley & His Comets
was an American Rock&Roll band founded in 1952 that continued playing until Haley's death in 1981. The band was the earliest group of white musicians to bring Rock&Roll to the attention of white America and the rest of the world. From late 1954 to1956, the group placed nine singles into the Top 20 and three more in the Top Ten. Many fans consider them to be as revolutionary in their time as The Beatles or the Rolling Stones were a decade or two later. Bill Haley was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
It makes me nostalgic for a time I never lived in.

Feel the same way it’s pretty weird but I like it ya know
Probably heard it in a past life
It makes me nostalqic on 2010

I don't care what anybody says or how old this masterpiece is; to me this is how rock and roll was born. I absolutely love it. Rest in peace Bill Haley
The best time of music is from mid 50s to the late 60s to the late 80s in my opinion. After the 90s it started to go downhill.

Without a doubt this was the birth of rock and roll. Even a 48 year old 80's metal head knows that!
I thought Rocket 88 was the first Rock n roll song?!
*1955 Damn that's good!*
*2019 Wow that is Music!*

Yes
My mom bought the record for me in 1955. I was 10 years old and loved it
I was born in the sixties. I remember collecting 45's and playing them on my record player. I had over 100 albums. How I miss that time, my family and the memories
Fun fact: I am good friends with the grandson of the guitarist in this band. He's a really cool guy, and he has even continued his grandfather's legacy and plays electric guitar himself.
That is a fun fact. Thanks for sharing. Education is a super power, we often misuse.
I’m the granddaughter of the drummer Max daffner!
@@racergoddard718 that cool and now I have chills.
@@racergoddard718 that's awesome! He definitely did a good job at playing them...
Just curious. do you play drums?? If not you should give them a try. I just started playing them after about a 20 year break from them. It's hard to explain the joy it brings to play them and how much it changes your styles and taste in different genres of music. Seems to do nothing but good for me. Take care
@@jasonangel5407 I haven’t learned to play (but I have definitely just banged on the drums at his house 😂) because I learned to play guitar. But my brother and sister played the drums in high school
61 years old and still going strong. I love this song. Do you think we'll be listening to this song in '55, when it turns 100 years old? I really hope so. :-D
1999 Kid here, the music industry is fucked lad. A shame it is. The only thing you hear in 2012 - Present music are untalented swines and might be like that for a very long time.

Of course man !!!
Jack Flippin I'm 18 years old and listen to this stuff, so if I'm around then, I'll still be listening to it
I was born in 61 wish it would have been 51 , rock and roll was just coming from the womb, WORLD RENOWNED HISTORY!!!! SAID ONE MORE TIME: ROCK AND ROLL WILL NEVER DIE!!!! !

To this day I like Bill Haley’s music even more and realize how great of a song this ones. It defines rock and roll and the 50s.
Totally
As a guy who grew up in the 80s and 90s, this is great music!!!
The most important song ever ! Was released before I was born but changed all music-lovers lives!
This is really timeless, I could listen to this for an hour straight!

I'm 75 now and they were the good old days for Rock & Roll and the Jitterbug! Betcha a lot of High Schoolers can relate to that?
Minha mãe hoje está com 85 anos e se emociona quando ouve este rock holl, comenta q se vestia deste jeito lindo demais.
On this day many years ago, a group of friends and musician changed the world forever...
Выше всяческих похвал. Очень жалко, что такой талантливый человек рано ушел из нашей земной жизни. Царствие ему Небесное!
Тем более, он тоже в иесуса верит

🎶 Lyric:
One, two, three o'clock, four o'clock, rock
Five, six, seven o'clock, eight o'clock, rock
Nine, ten, eleven o'clock, twelve o'clock, rock
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight
Put your glad rags on and join me, hon'
We'll have some fun when the clock strikes one
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight
When the clock strikes two, three and four
If the band slows down we'll yell for more
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight
When the chimes ring five, six and seven
We'll be right in seventh heaven
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight
When it's eight, nine, ten, eleven too
I'll be goin' strong and so will you
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight
When the clock strikes twelve, we'll cool off then
Start a rockin' round the clock again
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight
One of the best songs of all times.
Would have been 97 today-happy birthday,Bill. We're still rockin' our lives away.
This song slaps!!! It's one of the best songs ever made!!!
Yes!
Gosh this song never ages, best rock and roll song to dance to!
This was my dad's first ever record that he bought. He would've been 13 or 14. How adorable.
Hello how are you doing
64 yrs and still kicking ass without asking any questions...:).
Brian...Yes, the good old days, a time when boys were forever trying to feel my tits, finger my ass, and I just loved it...boys never had to worry about me calling the cops, or whatever. We...all girls...enjoyed the occasional goose, too, and if the boy didn't get slapped, he more than likely had found a girl who'd screw. The good old days, Brian, that's for sure.
50s rock is still a slapper after 50 something years.

Anybody else wish today's music was like this?
i wish. just autotune trash today
Ivy Bones right, finally someone agrees
not everything, but the stuff that rises to the top is.
yeah wish weird new crap never came out
There are plenty of bands making music like this today, you have access to the internet, so go find it. We live in a golden age where we can find tons of bands doing music from any era ever. Just because your kid isn't listening to it on the radio or whatever doesn't mean there's no good music.
Hand down that has to be the best song to ever come out of the 50's! It will remain popular for an eternity!
Yes
Although I was born in the 2000s, this is a cool song, I wish I knew what the 50s were like!
The 50s were not a good time…

Love this I wish we could bring back that kind of dancing .
This is the record that started the rock-n-roll phenonoma in the uk.I remember when I first heard it I was absolutely amazed at the energy in the beat of the music and Bill Haleys voice(Don't forget we had been brought up listening to the big band sound.with its strict tempo It kicked off a revolution in teen-age music and we couldn't get enough of it .Life was so boring before Rock-n-Roll The lads were tearing the seats up in the cinemas as we jived to Rock-around the clock. Yes it was a truly life changing for us and we responded to the fantastic music coming from the god old USA.

Saw them on a tour of the UK in 1972 at Nelsons Column in Nelson Lancashire. He was as good live as he was on this recording.

Thank you 👍👍👍
Love this song! I sang a solo in the song in my 3rd grade musical at our school. The part at 1:00. I had such a blast! I learned a lot about myself that day. I’m pretty shy but I found I enjoyed being on stage. So fun! I knew the song by heart since I was little, and it holds a special place in my heart. One of my favorites! Timeless ❤️
I'm 18 and I consider the 50's to be the peak for the music Industry
I am 22 and I agree with you. Music started to peak in 1930s and then hit the peak in the 50s and then fell down after the 60s ended
i prefer the 80s where metal and pop, two important really started to evolve
My fav song in Mafia 2

Let's be thankful to the writer(s) of this song bc without them we wouldn't have this classic timeless song. So thank you James E. Myers who wrote the majority of this beautiful song.

The 1950s the positives was the awesome music I wasn't even born in the 50s or 60s but man the music is miles better then crap my generation is listening to I'm referring to Gen Z.
Back when band members were under the impression that needed to constantly smile whilst playing to an audience...
In 1955 before we were married my wife and I danced to Rock Around the Clock at the teen center at Fullerton elementary school Baltimore County Maryland. Those are really good memories. Could that be the reason we've been married for 65 years?
